I don't really want to interrupt this passionate debate but...
That time of the month is coming again, we have to choose new map for the map of the month section. Since 1.9 is slowly but surely coming I suggest let's choose some 1.9 map. A lot of people will be looking for a map on which they can try the new combat so we should provide.
Right now I know only about Krose's Supposed Gold Path. If you know of any other good 1.9 maps suggest them. If you have any other idea of what map to put there, feel free to suggest as well.
If you want a map that is being released in episodes and isn't coming out until the 29th (to guarantee that it actually works smoothly with 1.9 itself) then there is Terra Restore 2.
Quick question to the community: I've been working a map for a little bit and haven't made much progress because I want this first large map to be really good. I also know that whatever I make first is probably going to be really awful, so would you guys recommend making some smaller, 3-4 wool maps before working on a larger one that I'm going to put a ton of time into?

My first two maps were a trainwreck, they were some of the worst maps you've ever seen, I highly suggest you use mainly worldedit on one mini-map and mainly mcedit on another, just to get familiar with the tools before taking a ton of time to make a large map. This will give you a variety of tools to use, and if you ever need help with designing an area, most people on this thread are happy to help.

Yes.
Making a map is not an easy feat. Trust me. I started my first map 3 years ago, I got this interesting concept in my head, and I currently have little to no time and motivation to keep going. So my tip is to make that mini map and find your ground in map making. See if you enjoy making maps as much as playing them for a long period of time.
Hey all-another stream is on the way. Sadly, my interest in XCOM2 cannot likely be shared, but I believe that I have a Jam to appreciate and other maps I have to play. Time to get off my rump.

Hey there all. I stream CTMs as well as other indiegames, RPGs and more. Check me out: www.twitch.tv/aurabolt
I'm not sure if anyone else is having similar issues, but in Minecraft 1.9, I am getting horrible lag and I never exceed more than 15 fps, however I go over 100 fps in Minecraft 1.8...
EDIT: I found that some people who use Windows 10 will most likely have a massive fps drop while playing Minecraft 1.9 unless Mojang releases an update fixing it soon. For now though, lots of Windows 10 MC players may not be able to play because of this.
Would anyone here be interested in a collab CTM? (basically pantheon, but it will be less selective) I know most have failed in the past, but if i set up a schedule, and give each person a time limit, i can really see this working out, as well as helping out some lesser known mappers.

I would be interested but I haven't mapped a lot...

I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
Hello, I am LeongYH. I know I shouldn't be posting here, since I am a Minecraft: Pocket Edition user. However, my interest in Minecraft has grown recently and I will attempt to make a Complete The Monument map in the near future. I hope I will be able to be accepted into this community and maybe even be able to contribute. (By the way, this is my first ever Forum Post)
I wish I could participate.
But I have problems with Minecraft 1.8+ ;-;
You can't really map at all if you have problems with 1.8+, considering pretty much no one will play a new map in any lower versions (unless its been in production in 1.7 for so long its impossible to fix)... you should probably just ask for help here. I'm sure people would be able to help. If anything, a clean install of minecraft pretty much always solves all problems (assuming you aren't using mods, but mapmakers don't really have to worry about that).

For those curious, the next version release of Terra Restore 2 is now out and supports Minecraft version 1.9! ^^

Hello CTM Community. <3
I really like this, I'm excited to see the finished product!

that'll be 2022
Two wools down :-) 14 to go :/ Mapmaking takes time it seems, should be able to do one a week at this rate.
Kinda getting worried about render distances, but I wanna fit in my gameplay ideas. Can most pc's handle 12-16 chunks with ease?
Anyway enough talking, let's go and build a door.
Enough people seemed interested, so here's the thread, remember, you don't have to be some mapping god in order to join: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/2627303-ctm-collab-the-elder-trials
This is my dream. Beautiful trees, everywhere. I am very excited to see this map :DD
