So, uh, anything happen in the last few months? I've been too depressed to be active here.
Lol double post by me but let's see...
We had the Eighth Strawberry Jam, there was some debate about what separates a survival CTM and a RPG CTM, Xhen's Map went into beta and Chip's map will very soon...
So, for the moment, I might not be able to retrieve the saves from my older, defunct hard drive. We are trying another method to do so.
But, if that doesn't work, that means I will have to restart 5 maps, inculding Ragecraft 3 when I do get a new computer.
Thankfully, I am not too bothered about restarting RC3 for you all-there was an update, as I understand it...and I would take personal pleasure in defeating the Zapharin Pharaoh again with less fail. If no one minds a (slightly abridged) version of me pushing through to I3 once again, you might get it.
As for Savage Realm and Depths of Irkhalla, the issue there will be restarting them as well...that doesn't bother me either.
The one I'm sad about restarting was SP02. I was at the first level of Black Wool, and that would have to be pushed through again. The sadness, she is real.
I still plan to be at streams like Rocks and others involved with the community (I think it might be wise to compile those who do stream-inculding myself-so that others can check with those on Twitch and Hitbox to always watch their streams and keep the community close. What do you think, Fang?) but for the moment, my portal to adventure is closed for now. I will return, but it will take me some time.

I propose a bit of a challenge to the CTM map makers out there. How would you guys like to create a map made in 1.8, but having the feel of a vintage super hostile of old? No custom mobs, no custom items...no enchantments. It'd be interesting to see if someone could create a mini CTM based around these limitations. If I recall correctly there was a period a few versions ago when people did this, but it's been forever since someone made a good 'raw' CTM.

Now this seems like an interesting idea... I'll be willing to take up your offer.
Though, it's certainly going to be harder. Since I can't just make harder monsters to scale with the equipment and items given out, good level design is what's really going to be the big thing in making a "ye-olde school" CTM map. But considering I don't have to make hundreds of named armor or weapons, it'll probably be easier to build. Plus already knowing what I have to work with is a big advantage.
I'll see what I come up with... Heheheh...

I was going to build a map for Coolfools "CTM Ditto Challenge" soon... So why not, I'll try my best to make it a good map without any of this, don't know that much about custom items/mobs or command blocks anyway. Will send you a link as soon as it's done, but it could take a while, as I don't have a lot of time atm ^^

I think maybe mix in something else with some of those mushrooms as it looks a bit repetitive, other than that the terrain looks a bit annoying to traverse so maybe fix that. I like the block combinations though!

It wasn't necessarily my intention, but people have told me that my Strawberry Jam #7 map ("Cloudhome") had a very "classic Super Hostile" feel. Of course, being a jam map, it was incredibly unbalanced (in the direction of "way too easy"), but I'm actually really proud of it.

I'd love to see more CTMs oriented around the whole survival theme instead of just fighting in pretty landscapes magically connected to each other. I also want some Vintage CTMs!

Where are some good tutorials for creating custom mobs, changing item lore, name colors, mob names, etc etc etc. I've been trying to poke around but I'm having some real trouble trying to learn all of this. I am starting a bit late but I want to see what it's like. Does anyone have any links or can anybody point me towards good tutorials to help me get my knowledge together?

Custom mobs- Mcstacker. Easy enough to figure out on your own.
Custom Items- NBTexplorer. If you do a bit of poking around, you can do this with ease.
Everything else- Use MCedit, Worldedit, buildcommands, whatever works. Get into a "style" and work from there.
Any feedback on this WIP area? It's supposed to be an old volcano with some lava that people pump and make something from it. I will probably add iron or quartz, more pipes and containers, houses and so on.

Hey guys! I've been playing vechs super hostile. I want to play some other ctm maps too. I don't care how hard they are, how new they are, or what version of mc they use. What are some must play maps?
