Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther
I'm going to try this time around to actually COMPLETE a map though,
Problem with me is that I am one of those people if you gave me a pickaxe and 6 giant boulders, I would focus on one boulder until it's finished before I move on to the next. Although it's good to focus on tasks on SOME things. Mapping/CTM is one of those things that's not designed for that. Even I know it takes great time and dedication to complete one, and I just want to sit there for six hours doing mapping until I am done with the task at hand.
The problem with that however is that when I do 6 HOURS of mapping for a while, I start to get bored of that, in other words I OVERFOCUS on mapping and that makes me get bored of it....
So this time around I am going to try to slowly ween myself into time management with mapping, I'm going to make little fortress assaults until I am comfortable then make Mini's and then do my dream of a full-blown one.
If anyone has tips for me on that let me know but yea I will be returning here. It's always great to see everyone
Apparently, everyone´s showing pictures of their WIP maps...
So, here´s a lil pic of what I´ve been doing recently. It´s the first time I mapmake using WE and that stuff, so I´d like feedback
Looks nice! It's aesthetically peaceful. Since I have a fondness for the look of acacia trees using different tree-type materials, you get bonus points for that. The only thing I can think of right now to maybe improve it is to lay down a slightly contrasting colour to the grassy areas. Blue Orchids could fit in well and break up the green a little, unless you were going for the lush green look. Overall, it's nice. And I second the question on the day/night cycle.
Looks alright! Does the map have a day/night cycle? Could really influence the area.
Btw I changed some blocks around I think it now looks a lot better.
A *lot* better, yes - though the colouring reminds me of the NES game Twin Cobra, which isn't a bad thing! If vanilla had helicopters, I'd craft one and go bonkers in an area like that. What sort of gameplay do you have planned for it?

You know what, I'll join the screenshotpocalypse!
They say that you can hear through the canopy of trees that cover the land, a distant voice. A sweet voice that entices all who hear it's beautiful echo. They travel far and wide to find the voices, but are never seen from again. Beware the Sirens adventurer, for this could be your death.

That looks beautiful ;')
I love how the walls contrast with the trees and water!
Gorgeous. It would be tempting to patch up the creeper holes mid-battle in that area so it would stay as beautiful.
And screenshotpocalypse, you say? I can barely fit much of my mostly-done white wool area into seven screenshots let alone one, so I cobbled together four shots. My only hang ups are the latter mountain passes over void and lava. Those bits would benefit from more trees - I'm not sure. I want the feel that you're high up in the mountains after venturing into the tunnel. As well, I'm probably going to change the dirt in this area to podzol (because it's Scotland/the highlands).
Wow, nice screenshoots all! Especially I really like your picz Xen. Really cute. Another issue, someone has trouble opening the mcedit? Mine does not open.

Hey all. Will check out that lovely piece of screenshot in a second, wanted to let you know that I have plans to stream-as usual, at 3:30 EST. The lava beckons to us, and we shall heed its call. Hope to see you then. Sadly, I will be missing my normal partner-in-crime, Enigma, but I hope to find someone else before then. Feel free to join me!

I'll most likely be there Aura. Grey Crystal is my favourite area, can't miss out aha.
Well, I am MIA. Involuntarily i might add. I started Eventide Trance and RC3 when it came out and apparently overdid it a bit. I now have a mouse-injury and can't do any gaming at all recently. I also wont watch all the RC3 playthroughs as I don't like to spoil myself, so I have had to go on a CTM cold turkey. Which sucks. Also I started working and have less time than I used to. Still i hope to be able to play RC3 when (if?) my arm gets better. Will have to get a different mouse though. The apple magic mouse is NOT a gaming mouse. It is so very responsive, and so very fast and sensitive to use, but it messes up your muscles. So - yes. MIA here unfortunately

Hope you don't get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
If I may ask though, did you perhaps jitterclick?...
BIG IMAGE TO GET YOUR ATTENTION:
I am going to be streaming Ragecraft III at 12:00 EST. Please come and view my failure so I will not be lonely.

People seem to be sharing screenshots of their maps. Mind if I join in this "Armageddon brought about by image sharing"?
- A section of The Blood Caves, an old mineshaft that bandits have made their home, laying traps for any poor souls who dare enter...
- An interior shot of The Ancient Library, where a variety of old manuscripts and forgotten writings are guarded by mechanical defenders.
- The entrance to the Temple of the Arctic Storm, where the spirits of the ice take form and spring to life...

Hello
I want to share my newest creation of my map ( Intersection I )
I'll be happy if you give feedback
Process!
Pretty.
I know I'm kind of late for this, but I'll just join the screenshot apocalypse now:
The Titan's Forging Tower.
Inert Empire's intersection four, Walls Of Salvation.
And this two screenshots that are part of the same area, called Glacial Shadows (wip).

I really have nothing to criticize, these pics look absolutely amazing!
Screenshot-pocalypse, you say? Hmmm...
must resist...
must resist...
must resist...
must... must...
Oh fine. Here you go.
I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
And by the time I'll actually have a decent area made, the screenshot-apocalypse will be over..
ive never made a backup
