Greetings, inferior individuals and Fangride. I have recently come upon a most bewildering quandary of great magnitude, and my desperation is such that I am requesting even the assistance of such plebeians as you. I have as of late been attempting to make use of World Machine, but have been unable to discern precisely how to import my creations of the aforementioned apparatus into WorldPainter. Any and all assistance is appreciated, and failure to do so will result in the greatest CTM map of all time never being released.
For starters were not in an ancient Rome monarchy :/ (if you were joking then I apologize)
Second, I thought world machine was for making realistic terrain to import into stuff like Unity,
is it even possible to import WM creations into World Painter?..

Worry not, if we truly are in a state that resembles the Roman monarchy, eventually you will overthrow the monarchy and declare never to be ruled by a king again and soon thereafter be ruled by a dictator instead. But yeah, I was just talking like that for the keks.
Anyway, I'm fairly sure other people have used WM before, notably soupbob has made some pretty cool stuff with it, so there should be some way to do it. I just have no idea how
In almost every screenshots you posted up there you seem to use the wavy, branch-like pattern on the walls and the centerpiece. Not that I blame you of using it, it looks unique and I used the technique a few times. But, you seem to be overusing that on those screenshots.

Thanks, I thought that you said that the images were bad, or so. By the way, I need some ideas for upcoming areas because I don't know what to do now
So, I'm having a bit of trouble finding a good block combination for the decoration on these cave walls. I don't want this place to be plain old hardened clay. What do you think would go well with it?
@infamy: export the image in world machine using an output device at the proper resolution, then import the height map image in world painter through file > import > height map (control + M). Good luck with world machine, took me more than a year to learn.

Try using Soul Sand, Dirt, Brown Hardened Clay, and put it in /weather thunder, show it if you liked!

This thing reminds me of that orange wool area from SP2
I've been trying to come back to making CTMs for a while now, now that I've started going through my yearly Zisteau-triggered Minecraft withdrawls, but I managed to forget my password and possibly email. Also, my 1/2 done CTM was on my old computer, which has likely been recycled into aluminum cans by now.
Can anyone fill me in on the big events (new maps, new mapmaking tools, juicy gossip) that went down in the past - checks post history - 361 days?
Also, dang, it says I've been here for 2 years and 7 months. Out of all the game forums and communities I've been on, I gotta say that this is the most creative and welcoming one.
There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.

You probably don't remember who I am, but funnily enough, Zisteau is also the reason I've started lurking again around here. He's been destroying that map, and it's nice seeing that because I got my butt kicked horribly when I tried it myself.
As for who posts in this thread now, I have no idea. Just a bunch of strangers! (」゚ロ゚)」
Map wise, Painter got released, as well as ragecraft II (Or so I've heard.) That's the only 2 main maps I was looking out for.
....
I waited so long for The Painter, and I enjoyed every single minute of it.
I have no idea who Sangiin is, but I definitely remember Detoxiic!

Alrighty then peeps, just speaking theoretically here, what do you guys think about say a later game item (perhaps diamond pick) that would allow you to access certain parts of the previous areas and items that you couldn't previously?
Perhaps (with command blocks) erase all the bedrock in a map when the chest with said item in it?
Feel free to use this in your CTMs if you so desire.

[YOUR AD HERE FOR JUST $69.69]
Have you ever just lost something....
like something so valuable that took so much time and 'poof', gone. That happened to a ctm map of mine.
THEN YOU FOUND IT?!?!?
Well, I found my old map, Elemental Sorrows. WOOH!
Check me out on YouTube:

Does this look OK or is the glowstone brushed-looking?
I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.

Did that upload right? (sry for double post)

Seems cool!, but try to mix different blocks, it seems a bit simple

Yeah, I changed the name... I don't know maybe a year ago?
I actually don't remember why.
Anyways, welcome back!
EDIT : Y'know what, screw this old acc. Time for a change.
There.
