For the last couple of weeks i was very interested in the "greek mythology" thing. Especially i was attracted by the story of Theseus and the Minotaur.
King Minos had angered the Greek God Poseidon by not sacrificing a great white bull that had been sent to him. Poseidon decided that he would punish King Minos by making his wife Pasiphae fall in love with the bull. Pasiphae hid herself within a hollow wooden cow statue and the bull found her attractive, the result of their 'union' unfortunately was their son the Minotaur a fierce half bull, half man like creature. The Minotaur was kept inside a huge labyrinth built by the chief architect at Knossos, Daedalus.
The whole labyrinth thing just couldnt get out of my head, so i started googling. I really wanted to know how that labyrinth should have looked, to keep such beast inside. Long story is short, that's the map i found:
Fun fact:#Medieval scientists believed that it's the most difficult maze ever built.
Besides the fact that mathematical chances to get out are very small, Daedalus so cleverly used psychological factors, that the probability of escape almost equaled zero.
Wanting to pass it, I realized that I do not have the money and space to build it in my yard, and a time machine unfortunately, had not been invented yet. So i've made it in minecraft.
The labyrinth i've made is a very accurate replica of the original Daedalus labyrinth. It's made fully of obsidian to prevent cheating and has 6 blocks high walls. The shortest way out is more than 1 km long! Most people would have died of hunger and thirst before finding the way out in real life.
