Escape the Puzzlemaster-8
The creators (Ditto44, crazykille, and kobs222) have obviously put alot of work into this project they knew exactly what to do when setting up traps and puzzles. (on a side note the soul sand race was a ***** to complete) they say that they will be doing more and i cant wait till they do.This map took about 45 min to an hour to play, i managed to get all 108 golden ingots and i gave this map an 8 because it was very fun, had some difficulty and it kept me entertained. here are a detailed reasons why it is an 8
This map had a great storyline involving the master of puzzles giving tests to an innocent minecraftian who must escape by doing various puzzles in order to survive. this map however could have used a little more backstory
This map was very unique in its puzzles such as the cake parkour, the hallway, and the soul sand race, certainly puzzles i haven't seen implemented before.
These creators knew how to use red stone very well and it certainly helped make this map a great puzzle map
This map was very creative in the puzzles aspect of it, but with each room having nearly the same color it kindof didnt catch my eye so much
Micrope and the_trademark did an excellent job with this map. it was a map that made me,not rage quit, but keep retrying; Because i kept dying with my diamonds! they set up traps great, made the theme look very hellish, and it was quite a challenge. they knew just what to do to make you think that everything is safe, but then you die... this may seem like im saying this is very frustrating(which it can be) but im saying i highly recommend this map if you enjoy challenging adventures. i cant wait to see what these guys do in the future. i finished this map in 1 hour and 30 minutes and finished with 270 diamonds.
Storyline-9 The story is that you are a hitman named Morgan and you die. (yes its that simple you died!) and you go straight to hell, now the devil is on his lunch break and he wants to toy with you. so he makes you take 8 challenges and if you pass you get a second life. the storyline is very unique and it really caught my attention
challenge-7 This map had its challenges but some of the rooms were easy to do such as the arrows room, you could just wait for all the arrows to fire then walk across. other then that the rooms did have challenge to them
Unique-9 This map is unique in many ways the key one is that you ARE allowed to break stone and obsidian. in most adventure maps you arent allowed to break blocks PERIOD. its also unique because it doesn't just give you the item you need in order to move on, you need to use the items in the chest to craft the item you need
Atmosphere-7 The map really made you feel like it was minecraft hell, a few tweaks and what not could make it better but it was a good map, the diamond room however made it seem like it shouldnt have been there. diamonds are supposed to be a good thing and when your in hell nothing is good.
Theres not much to say about this map...well because theres not much to the map. There are literally 2 challenges in this map. now i know that the creators (xGTBx, SPAMMERApples, Kookooman117, and Thetermanator2) said that this is only the beginning of the map and they are making more to it but there's just not much to go off of. all i can say is that one challenge is very easy and the other is near impossible. the very easy one is a simple parkour. a few harder gaps and maybe not a straight line to the top would make it better. the very hard one is you have to hit buttons while riding a minecart...very difficult especially after you turn the courner and onto a ramp... and the button is right next to it...you miss that button and you go backwards. very frustrating.. and thats the map! yep thats it. with tweaks this could be a good map but as it stands its not enjoyable to play
Storyline - 2 you wake up and your in a test chamber...very unoriginal and boring
Redstone-3 average redstone usage but the map had redstone showing on the path.. the way you set stuff up isnt supposed to be visible
design- 3 Iron Iron and more iron i know this is the iron challenges but maybe some more paintings or some different blocks
Length- 2 Finished in 5 minutes
Enjoyment-3 enjoyable at first but then its over...
Orcmaster...wow.. great job on this map. this map tied in adventure and RPG perfectly. there was so much to do in that map. in the cure you could go on the main quest, you can follow the path and never look back, or you can stop and do some side quests for some extra stuff. and theres so much in this map even if you die, if you continue on a little further in the map, you can practically regain all you lost. one of the best features though is the fact that its not overwhelmingly difficult, and that you can focus on the stories and not so much the mobs. if you are a fan of RPG maps i would recommend this map. i did give this a 7 however even though i am a fan of it and here is why.
Storyline-8 The story takes place in a small shack and you are alone. mobs have taken over the world and you have ran out of food. so you must set out to find food and to find out what has happened to the humans...i like the storyline and the storylines of the sidequests, especially the backstories to the mobs.
Navigation-5 i made this low because the pathing isnt the greatest it was hard to distinguish between where to go and where i have been even on the main story quest.
Difficulty - 7 it has difficulty because even when i tried on easy there were still alot of mobs. but theres not to much to make you rage quit, also some of the puzzles in the map (such as the obsidion maze, or the anti priests underworld) was more fun then challenging, and i think part of that had something to do with the storyline, and the fact he rewarded you for doing good.
Enjoyment - 9 like ive said numerous times in the previous sentences this was very fun. The RPG aspect was very cool. i havent played to many RPG's and im sure to play more after this map.
This map was a pretty all around above average survival map, but it was more of a fun relaxation map then a survival, which im not saying it is bad its still a good map and still fun to play. The concept of the map was very good and original which i like, but it seemed a little to small for them to be planets. I myself was about half the size of mercury (Exaggeration). apart from it being small it was still a fun map, the creator (reshif) gave you all the materials you needed right on your spawn at earth which i loved. plus all of his quests were not all that hard to complete, hell i finished 3 of them by making a house on the sun with windows . i ended up getting all but 1 goal which was to build a mob trap. i gave this map a 7 and here is why
Storyline - 8 Loved the concept, loved the planets, but like i said if they were bigger it would be even better, but the concept itself gets a good score.
Survival Ability -6 it was easy to avoid the mobs up until the end of the map so around Uranus, but in the beginning the sun was a great source of light and i didnt die at all in the first 4 planets. personally the main reason why people would die is failing to hold shift.
Difficulty - 7 like ive said before mobs easier near sun, harder after astroid belt, died a few times failing on shift , nothing extremely difficult but relaxing
Architecture - 6 it was a good use of MCEdit but the worlds needed to be bigger they are on the smaller side for planets if the creator were to make the worlds bigger and space them apart more it'd be more fun and more of a challenge to get to each planet.
This map was made by themaniacminer, and i would say that this is about average. the people who love those exploration type maps then this is a good map for you, but if you dont like being told what to do or where to go then this is a bad map. that is why i say it is average. the only thing that irrated me about this map alot was trying to find the start. it says to follow the pumpkins and if you dont have your render distance set to normal or far then you cant see them until you are close. the one thing i really liked about this map was the shrine of knowledge, it gave you a place to stay and it gave you lots of tips for the newer people in minecraft and it also gave you side quests to do during this map.
Storyline - 7 this map had a fairly decent storyline, what happens is that you come home and you realize that your record collection has been stolen! now you must search around for those missing records that are located in various places. this storyline is comical, yet clever
Architecture - 6 this had fairly good architecture, it had hidden ruins, open ruins, houses, parkour, and even the nether! plus you are able to explore each biome to find your music disks
Challenge- 7 the real challenge is to find all of the disks but when you get near one ...phew your in for a challenge. ether fighting mobs in a broken ruin or jumping over lava to get to that one chest. also if you die (which is inevitable) you have to resupply with everything! (i almost died with one of my records )
Direction - 2 the only time you are told where to go is at the spawn and it says follow the pumpkins, after that its all up to you to do whatever you want to do.
Openness - 8 just the opposite as the one before you get to do Whatever! its your choice!
This map was set up pretty well but it was very un-entertaining. there was very little encounterment, had a lack of a flowing story, and lack of a challenge. i guess if you want a relaxing type map to kill time this would be a good map but for me at least it was at slightly below average. one thing i like that the map creator(duramisbeam) did was have a unique texture pack to this map. i finished this map with 26 glowstone on normal difficulty. i overall gave this map a 5 and here is why.
Story - 5 it wouldve been a great story if only it flowed. it went from waking up at a mediocre tram station to finding a castle, to someone (it doesnt say who) praising the dark lord and having a nether portal, to leaving the nether after following torches, to entering some caves with 1 arrow trap, to going onto a wrecked ship that leads into a cave then find a aether portal and finding out that you are related to a king? and all through this i had no idea what was the main goal in this adventure map was?
Unique - 6 it did have some unique features however such as you would never had been able to enter the castle without reading the notes/rules. also it was unique because it implemented the aether in this map.
entertainment - 4 it was pretty boring throughout this map, there was no challenges, everything was pretty much self explanitory, and i only had to fight and kill 1 monster? there was no mob spawners, no real traps, not much lava, just paths to follow.
Creativity - 5 this map did have some creativity, such as the castle and the building in the nether but everything else seemed natural and it seemed like he didnt put as much work into some parts.
This map brought parkour and puzzles in together perfectly, it had a decent amount of puzzles and a decent amount of parkour. not to much not to less. to add on to this map there was also comical moments in there, mainly when hes about to kill you . The Map creator (Hippy500) obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this map. with its unique perspective, challenging obstacles, and not so lengthy gameplay this map turned out to be really fun and exciting to play. i finished this map in about 30 minutes and with 28 diamond.
Challenge - 9 every obstacle was a challenge especially the parkour segments. if you fail at all on the parkour segments you have to restart at the beginning, (except on the grassy parkour when you find a checkpoint) i have failed numerous times on each parkour segment and i just kept trying to beat that one part that keeps making me fall. also at each challenge it is required to complete each challenge without cheating . for example, at the first challenge you have to break your boat in order to move on.
Unique-9 this map was very unique in man ways, 1. it is not just a parkour or just a puzzle it is both. 2.in the maze he gives you alot of redstone so you can remember where you been, it was very nice of him and it helped alot. 3. he hid clay very well so that you have to explore his map in order to find all diamond. 4. he used alot of elements such as ice, grass, obsidion, tnt, water, and glass panes in his challenges.
creativity- 8 he used his colors very well. every room was not the same as the last, whether he would change the color of wool or change it from logs to gold. it was never boring and i was anticipating to see what room is next.
redstone - 10 Hippy500 knew how to use redstone. there werre no bugs in any of his traps, and when i took a look on the outside of the map when i was done; i saw a whole lot of redstone, it seemed like hippy500 spent a bunch of time trying to set everything up perfectly, and like i said before he allowed you to use redstone to mark our place in the maze.
This map is not a good map by all means. you start of on a big rock and you go to mini spheres of minerals for more resources...hmmm where have i seen this before... there are no real challenges to this map just basic stuff like a farm and what not. also he gives you 4 whole stacks of wood to use? also there is only a few spheres to go to so theres not much exploration. it also starts you off at sundown so you have to rush and get torches down (which he gives you) fast or else monsters spawn and your screwed. overall i gave this map a 2 and here is why
Story - 1 not a good storyline at all.. you are mining and then you dont remember anything and now your in the sky on spheres... not good, not flowing, not entertaining
difficulty - 2 only difficulty is the monsters spawning in the beginning and possibly falling off getting to another sphere
architecture - 1 simple sphere creations; making a rock all out of the same mineral is uncreative, and there was so few of them that i finished a bridge to all in about 25 minutes.
enjoyment - 2 not enjoyable very boring, didnt have fun
This map was very challenging and took a very long time to review because i wanted to complete as much of it as i can so i can give an accurate review. This map was very hard very challenging(like i said before) but also very fun. i would even go as far as saying this could compete with vechs on the super hostile series. i enjoyed every minute playing it even when i would die by stupid skeletons...there was so much to do in this map and because of that it kept me very entertained. Kerblahhh obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this map and it was well worth it. i finished this map with completing 9 of the main challenges and a few of the bonus challenges and 1 mastery challenge. i gave this map a 9 and here is why
Survival - 9 perfect map for survival. it was challenging, fun, keeps you busy, and gives you the opportunity to do whatever you want in this dark universe.
challenges - 8 this map gives you 13 challenges to do from the forum and even more as bonus challenges in the map, which i think is a great concept. also all challenges are due-able, and not hard to do so you dont have to break your back to do a certain challenge.
difficulty - 10 even at the very beginning where you go to your first tree there are skeleton spawners just waiting to you to arrive. and it just gets harder from there. loved the fact it was not to easy to survive.
traps - 9 very good and well executed traps. some i didn't expect and some i should have expected but stepped into it anyways.
This map was truly amazing. i haven't seen one like this. this map is the perfect adventure map, there is so much to do in this adventure map that you HAVE to play it multiple times just to know if you made the right decision. also not only is there not just one "thanks for playing" sign but there are 15! different ways to finish this map, which is awesome! i also loved the vulgarity of the signs . i give MAPOPA all the credit in the world for making this map, its truly a great map which i highly recommend. i finished this map with 7 endings and i plan on finishing them all.
Story - 10 great story, havent seen a story with someone in a mental hospital trying to find out who he is and how to escape and what not. also the length of the story was very impressive, with also the multiple endings make the storyline and the map even better.
Creativity - 9 very thought out, very original. i really liked how you go into the map craft a flint and steel and you were able to go back into the near beginning of the map and use it for the nether portal. so what i mean by this is that he requires you to backtrack.
Unique - 10 very unique in so many ways. being able to destroy stuff that you can right click was so clever. also only being able to bone meal items that have a CAPOLESTO sign next to them was strange, but brilliant.
Entertainment - 10 hours of entertainment fit into a single map, that is as much as i can say.
This map brought together the classic james bond style of secret missions in to minecraft like no other. it really made you feel like you were a secret agent, with all of the breaking and entering, all of the "gadgets", and the "security guards". i loved playing this map, mainly because it had a good challenge and a amazing storyline. This obviously took a lot of time to make and he was very detailed and everything. if you play this map (which i highly recommend) remember DONT SLEEP IN THE BEDS, there is so much storyline after that and i had to do the map all over again because i accidently slept in one. i also loved how well he did the portals in this game, flawless! i finished this map in about 2 hours and i gave this a 9 and here is why
Storyline - 10 I am a huge fan of the James Bond movies so i was really getting into this map. entering the giant metal ball was so much fun, and i am also a huge fan of destruction so blowing it all up was even better! the way the map flowed from place to place was perfect, i never lost track on what i was supposed to do .
Challenge - 8 this map had great challenges in them and you had to use your brain alot as in to the sneaking into the buildings and advoiding all security. however my greatest challenge is the damn pigmen! god damn it why did you put so many in there!
Engineering(redstone,Portals, etc.) - 9 Great use of the portals, i love entering the nether. but then i see ghasts... anyways great use of everything expecially the water gates. props to you!
Entertainment - 10 Great entertainment, had a lot of fun and i was never bored while playing this map.
This map was a very enjoyable survival map! you are surrounded in a 2x3x4 glass box and you have to survive in it(and under it). this map had some good challenges, nothing over the top, and they were fun to do. i mainly spent most of my time expanding the glass box trying to find the exit lol. Nevertheless even if you want to just stay in the glass box you can. there is a whole bunch of materials found underneath the lava and you can just go from there. if you want to challenge yourself for a good few hours this is just the map for you. i finished this map in about 2 and a half hours and completed 9 challenges. I gave this map an 8 and here is why.
Challenge - 8 The hardest part is to preserve your wood and to expand the walls so that you can move around and hopefully find the exit! The other challenge is to not die in the lava cause it is everywhere!!!
Survival ability - 6 if you know what you are doing it is very hard to die. however if you are incompetent then you will die by lava many, many, many times. wonder which one is you?
Supplies - 9 you are given EVERYTHING you need just in that chest, and also there are hidden materials hidden in the cobble beneath you. also if you are really greedy then you can mine the diamond and you will be set forever
Enjoyment - 8 Had alot of fun playing this map, it killed a good 3 hours but it was well worth it. i highly recommend this map to play
This map really made me feel like i was the prince of minecraft(Persia) This map mixed in not to difficult parkour challenges with a hint of maze. throughout this entire map you are basically breaking into a fortress. and all around is a Egyptian theme (if you download the texture pack. i had a lot of fun playing this map. the only thing i would add to this map is put a few more cactus or something in the beginning, it looks very dull. now i am not the best parkour person in the world, but i was still able to do each parkour challenge, so its not like crazy hard, which i like. i finished this map in about 45 minutes and i gave this a 8 and here is why
challenge - 7 it was still a challenge to complete this map, but it was not crazy hard, so any average minecraft player would enjoy playing this map.
length - 8 good length, nothing to long, but it wasnt to short so that it finished and you are like "wow? that was it?"
Creativity - 8 very creative in the whole Egyptian, prince of persia aspect of it all. i have seen assassins creed minecraft maps but i dont recall seeing a prince of persia one. props to you
Entertainment - 9 very entertaining, like i had said before it felt like you were really the prince of minecraft. at the end sign it said more will be added and i cant wait till there is so i can play more.
This map made me mad at times, made me laugh at times, and made me feel really lucky at times. even though this made made me feel like a retard i still had a lot of fun playing it. what i like most about this map is that you dont have to be extremely skilled to play this map, you just have to have common sense and be very! very! lucky. i also think it did a pretty good job referencing and mimicking Warcraft 3, which the map and name is based off of. what also was very good about this map is that nothing in here was challenging, it was just a fun map to go and play. i can say that i recommend this map if you are looking to kill a good hour(and i stress the word kill)...(because if your stupid you die).......(alot)
difficulty - 7 the challenge itself wasnt to difficult, the only true difficulty was to not be stupid. if you are and follow exactly what you are told then you will die and it will be difficult for you to complete.
Traps - 10 these traps were set perfectly the map creator knew just what to do to make you think that you are going the right way and then you face a dead end with a sign that says "no salvation"
Creativity - 7 this map was creative, especially with the signs that love to trick you. i think if this map had its own texture pack it would make this map a whole lot better
Enjoyment - 8 i really enjoyed this map, highly addictive, and i was never bored, which i very good in a map. if the map creator ever adds on to this map i will sure be one of the first to play it
This map was a long but pretty damn good map. basically you are a person who is trying to find a cure for your people by achieving the magical fruit from the tree of life. and while on this quest you have to do alot of puzzles and challenges to get to the special tree. if you enjoy playing a long adventure map then this is the map for you i have played this map a total of 2 and a half hours! however i was not bored during those whole 2 hours. there was always another challenge or more of the storyline to follow so there was never a long break period inbetween each challenge. i finished this map with 71 redstone(which is the reward system) and i gave this map a 7 and here is why
Storyline-7 this was an average adventure map storyline where you must find a cure for your village, however the tree of life is unique and helped move it along. however i did not like how it just went from the storyline straight into another challenge such the water maze, i didnt get how that could have been implemented in there.
Equipment(redstone, pistons, etc.) - 10 excellent use of the pistons and redstone, much congrats to Fangride to making this map and its great system
Challenge - 6 many of the challenges such as the mazes or the parkour were very repetitive, they were still good but very repetitive which should not be used in excess in a adventure map
enjoyment - 7 i had a lot of fun playing this map, it kept me busy and addicted to play. however some of the puzzles were very hard to do which sometimes made me frustrated which made the score go down a little but never the less its still a great map which i recommend
This map has one of the greatest storylines i have ever seen in minecraft. it is so eventful and it is so easy to follow which made it that much better. reading some of the notes in this map actually made chills go down my spine, which made the map that much better. what i also really like is that there is no real challenge to this map, no difficult parts, no puzzles, no mazes, just you and your adventure. which in of itself is very unique and very well executed. i give Kmilley huge props for this story and its awesome ending. i finished this map with 34 gold ingots and completed it in about an hour and a half. i also gave this map a 9 and here is why.
Storyline - 10 like i said one of the best storylines i have ever seen period. couldnt have had been better. also im a big fan of the ending
Uniqueness - 9 i really havent seen map with just a storyline to it and not any challenges to difficulty to it. it was a fun easy going map. it was really good to pass the time and to not be stressful
creativity - 10 any person who makes their own texture pack just specifically for their map is creative. also i loved that there was multiple villages that you had to go to too understand what is going on.
enjoyment - 9 i had a lot of fun playing this map, i was never bored, i highly recommend this map
this was an about average map for me. this map took a whole 20 maybe 25 minutes to complete so it was alright in length, but most of that time was wondering around the hotel, seeing what i can get. this map was also very difficult right off the start after i went upstairs and broke some clay there was a zombie waiting for me and i had nothing to defend myself and i died right away....and i didnt like dying on this map...damn bedrock...never the less there were parts of the map that were good and the secrets were well hid. in the end i would say its your discretion to download this map
Story - 5 this map was a reference to the movies Rec and Rec2, now some of the parts were key to the movies but it left some stuff out that i was hoping would be in here
difficulty - 6 its hard even out of the get go and if you die then you have to re put the map in your saves. which was very frustrating
creativity - 5 i did like that room with the cages mobs in it i thought that was creative to put in. also the fact that you have to break clay to move on in the map was good
enjoyment - 4 i personally did not enjoy playing this map much. but it is still a good map to other people. it is to your own discretion
This map was absolutely fun and amazing. there was never a boring or dull moment in that map. what i really loved about this map is that there was chapters and side quests inside of the map itself. The map really made me feel like i was playing Dead Island. this map had a very good distinction between side and main quests with the different colored blocks. and also the side quests are actually worth doing. What is also good about this map is that it is a true challenge. The Hardcore minecraft players will love this. I finished this map in about 3-4 hours and i gave this map a 10 and here is why
Storyline - 10 absolutely brilliant on how Themightyzombie made this map with all of the chapters, side quests, villages, and use of the mob spawners. loved it and like i said i was never bored
Uniqueness - 9 very unique! i never even thought to see dead island in minecraft. also the side quests were very original i especially loved blowing the ship up with
Challenge - 10 absolutely difficult, but not to difficult to make you rage quit. =]
Enjoyment - 10 like i have said before never a dull moment. everything flowed so no confusion, everything was well organized, and i loved killing hordes of zombies, creepers, skeletons, spiders, etc. I highly recommend this map!!!
This is a very good exploration map. it is supposed to be an adventure too but the lack of direction was not good. at the beginning it was good, it told me to go to meiniroz city and to do the quests on the bulletin board there. when i got to the city it was great, well put, and just amazing it was really a great big city. the quests were also fun to do, they were mainly exploration, but still fun. but after i got to the city there was no signs telling me what to do or where to go so i got lost. i guess if you are a minecraft player who likes open world like play then this is a great map for you. i finished this in about an hour after i got a good feel of the open worldness, and i gave this a 6 and here is why
Storyline - 3 the only time i ever saw signs for the storyline was at the very beginning and that was telling me i am captain of a ship and my crew disappeared. after that i knew nothing of it.
creativity - 9 this map makes up its lack of storyline with its beautiful roads, scenery, buildings, and its unique city's. i especially loved the factory that had 2 well put cobblestone generators.
difficulty - 5 i guess if you get lost that is the only difficulty, exploration is key to survival here, i found everything diamond in that first city alone.
enjoyment - 6 i had fun with this map i think if the creator (ClawXIII) would boost up the storyline and make more signs to tell the person where to go or what to do then it would be even better.
Kerblah never ever disappoints when it comes to his maps! i absolutely loved his old map Moon which i have reviewed in the past and this map absolutely surpassed it. it was so good i stopped all production of other maps just to play this one and it took days! to complete. it was an absolute thrill playing this map and all of his twisted logic series. if you are a hardcore minecraft player then definitely try this map. i have said this before about him and that he resembled vechs in his maps and i love the hard maps. also the fact that it is so open world that you can do anything you want to is amazing. i finished this map in countless hours and with all but one challenge.
Survival - 10 perfect survival, you have to use all your resources and have to think about what you are going to do next in order to pass.
difficulty - 9 it is very hard i will warn you, but thats the beauty of it, it is supposed to be hard and he did a good job at it. also i thank Kerblah for making the beginning easier then the moon
Use of traps - 10 some traps are predicable i wont lie however there are some traps that make you hate yourself for falling into it and there are traps that make you rage because you lost your stuff.
Unique - 9 he takes his challenges to a very unique perspective, with the garden at the end to the random saddle in the map. also the golden rings and bonus challenges helped the overall challenge of the map and set his map from the rest
enjoyment - 10 loved it, highly recommendable, you will not be bored with this map
This was an average map that would probably suit the expectations of the multiplayer population the most. this is defiantly more of a relaxation survival than anything, (which every minecraft person should do every once in a while to get a break) and this map would be exceptionally fun with 2 or more players. the challenges fit more towards it and the kill no mobs challenge would be a hell of a challenge. however i review these maps solo and as a solo player i got bored fairly fast. there was no challenge that actually made me take time on it. if i wanted to make a nice house i couldve, but not necessary. overall i think this is a much more relaxed version of survival island. i finished this map in about 1 hour and i gave it a 5 and here is why.
survival - 5 it was relaxing but very easy to survive with a bounty of resources and such so no real challenge
difficulty - 6 there is no set difficulty that the map creator (cybexx16) set for this map so you are free to do as you wish but as a recommendation i would do it on hard just to get that full effect of survival.
unique/creativity - 5 like i have mentioned before this is just a relaxed version of survival island and with more hidden secrets. if cybexx16 were to put more challenges into his map and more secrets and more weird artifacts in and around the island it would boost this rating
enjoyment - 5 i have also mentioned this before it was enjoyable to explore around at first but after i have traveled the island and done the challenges then there was nothing really to go for left..and the enjoyment fell
Hollow eyes is a perfect Halloween map. its creepy, erie, scary, and it can give you chills. also the creator, Valark, did an amazing job on the background story, not only setting the mood of the map but also continuing the background story in his own topic replies. this ctm like map brought the best out of the nether and its new features. it was a map that you did not mind wondering around trying to find that darn obsideon and it did not frustrate me if i couldnt find one. i finished this map in about 3 hours cumulative and i gave this an 8 and heres why.
background story - 10 Valark brought the story into his own topic, which is truely amazing and unique on its own and i give him major points for keeping the story going
difficulty - 8 this map is very difficult. not only are you battling dangerous ghasts, silverfish, blazemen, and pigmen, but the difficulty in finding even 5 obsideon is outstanding. it took forever to find 5 pieces
direction - 8 in the library it gives you a great sence on where to start and what to do when you get to a bedrock box, also it provides great information on the story
creativity - 9 this map was very creative with the structures of the nether, the traps, the random caves that you have to accidently find because everything is netherrack. my favorite part of creativity was the dungeons with the silver fish. it creeped me out
enjoyment - 8 very fun, i defiantly recommend this map especially at night
This map has great potential to be really good, it had clever puzzles and tricks in this map, but with its confusing moments and exposed redstone it brought the score down. on the good side it had very clever puzzles such as the annoying switch room and the maze that will crush you if you dont complete it, these aspects make puzzle maps fun. however, there was a lot of exposed redstone which you never want to find it a map. also there were parts where i randomly got to the outside of the map and i didnt even realize, that got me lost and confused. also the bedrock got annoying, bedrock makes everything dark no matter what, so it was very hard to see key aspects to puzzles through the darkness. i finished this map in about an hour and i collected 65 slimeballs
story - 6 this map did have a decent story i must say. you were a agent trying to rescue some prisoners and during that plan you were captured and forced to endure challenges to test your wits.
creativity - 7 like i mentioned the puzzles were very creative in their own part and i enjoyed doing them
redstone - 1 alot of exposed redstone, also some of the redstone was damaged with some tnt so i couldnt do anything about it
enjoyment - 4 i had fun with the puzzles part of it, but with all the confusion and getting lost out of the map really brought entertainment value down
Levels was a fantastic map. each puzzle or parkour had its own unique/creative characteristic aspect to them. i can see that he spent much time on this and his time and effort has really paid off. many of this maps challenges are extremely difficult so if you are not that great at jumping puzzles then you will never finish this map. i very much enjoyed playing all the different variety of puzzles and parkour that was put in this map such as the slowsand race to the door, or the part where you have to dig your materials and then craft with them in order to move on. this map exceeds all expectations for a good parkour puzzle map and i highly recommend it. i finished this map in about 1 hour and 30 minutes and i gave this map a 9 and here is why
Puzzles - 9 each puzzle brought its own variety to show and it was not to difficult to complete, you have to use your brain and follow the rules in order to solve these puzzles
unique - 10 like i said countless times, this map brings its own style of uniqueness, not only in the story but in the layout of the map itself
creativity - 10 each room did not look the same as the last, which is key to get good creativity.
difficulty - 9 most of these challenges were difficult, but they were manageable to do, the only trouble i had was in the parkour lava room...
length - 10 perfect length not to long, but not to short
enjoyment - 10 i had great fun playing this map, never a dull moment
This map was of a survival in a cave system. yes it did have a good concept and it had all the necessity's of a survival map, but it was very easy to survive. i went through this entire map without dying even once. when you enter the cave system you have all necessity's to start out and then a few seconds later i am given coal, iron, redstone, a whole bunch of stone, dirt, and diamond. i had all this to mine and i was set and i wasnt even 30 minutes into the map. also there were no other challenges other then to survive. so after i built my house of stone i explored and all i found was more cave nothing to special, so i got bored easily. i played for about 1 hour and i gave this map a 5 and here is why
survival - 4 way to easy. what the creator (outspokenson) should have done was make the materials much harder to find. also set challenges for the player.
unique - 5 i liked the idea of a survival in cave systems, it brings back the ideas of original survival.
creative - 4 i didnt see to much that gave creativity. just caves
enjoyment - 5 it was fun at the start but then it got boring later on.
This was an overall good map. it had good challenge in it and you really had to use your core minecraft skills in order to get all of the challenges done. this map was a blast to play, perfect for the survivalist players, and it was so dark and erie it always makes you watch your back. the only thing i did not enjoy was the fact that you were told to play on peaceful. in a survival map like this you should tell them to at least put them on at least easy to see how well they survive in very little light. because i love a challenge i put this on normal. i finished playing this map after a good 2 hours and finished 5 out of 8 challenges. i gave this map a 7 and here is why
survival - 7 really fun to try and survive with very little light if you want to even though the rules say peaceful, it is your discretion.
difficulty - 7 always watch your back if you play this. if you do not then you are screwed
uniqueness - 8 i love the idea of a box survival in the dark, minimal light, minimal resources
challenges - 6 these were good and fairly difficult challenges but it is stuff we have seen before nothing to new..
This was an average map. it was short, simple, but enjoyable. the map consisted of short parkour, easy challenges, and a short overall map that leaves you hanging like "that was it?" what i liked most was the last room with the powered minecart. otehr then that there was no true challenge to this map. i finished this map in about 20 maybe 25 minutes and i gave this a 5 and heres why.
storyline - 5 trapped in a tunnel with a guy giving misleading directions...
creativity - 4 nothing to creative, the flow of everything was alright but like i said there was just to many simple stuff
difficulty - 5 no real challenge, very simple
enjoyment - 5 it had its moments of being fun but it also had its boring moments
This is one of those adventure maps that it has a good story, but more can be added on to it so that it can be even better. i enjoyed the story very well and i loved the fact that it was good without it being to challenging. however with every pro there is a con. what was not good about it was even though it was a good story it did not flow very well. it went like the antagonist was nice to you and then he wanted to kill you all in a minutes time. other then that it was still a good map
storyline - 8 good storyline id love to see more of this just wished it would flow a little better
redstone - 6 good work with redstone but there are exposed redstone. a map shouldnt have exposed redstone
Cretivity - 7 with the whole nether and the storyline it was very creative and it had some funny signs
difficulty - 7 it wasnt difficult but that was the good part about it
enjoyment - 7 it was very enjoyable to play i recommend playing this map
This is one of the greatest puzzle maps ever. i loved playing this map, it was fun, exciting, enjoyable, and perfect puzzles. also the use of mechanisms such as redstone and pistons was phenomenal, it was all perfected. now the map itself was perfect length for a puzzle map and it had some of the greatest puzzles ive seen ever. not only was there jumping puzzles but there was brian testers, levers, color cordination, water, piston, mazes, and anything else you can think of. i would love to play more of this guys maps. this is a map i highly recommend to all minecrafters. i finished this map in about 1 hour and a half and i gave it a 10 and here is why
Storyline - 9 love the fact you are finding a golden apple and the monkey wanting it was comedy gold
mechanisms - 10 flawless, absolutly perfect
Uniquemess - 10 very unique with most puzzle set ups, very original
Difficulty - 10 not to hard not to easy it was just right
this was possibly one of THE funnest maps i have ever played. it brought one of my favorite cartoons to life, Tom and Jerry. the attention to detail in the map was phenomenal! everything was so life like it was crazy. you can tell the map creator spent alot of time in this map and it was well worth it. the missions were so fun to do, you were climbing lamps, jumping on beds, swimming in a toilet, literally everything was there to see and use. be prepared for the end of this map however it takes a sharp turn when it goes from wonderful sight seeing to the hardest parkour ever. but that is what makes it so much fun. i finished this map in about 4 hours and i gave this a 10 rating and here is why
missions - 10 so much fun to do, each mission involved climbing or scaling massively large representations of a bedroom, most enjoyable.
creativity - 10 not only did he make larger then life representations of everything, he recreated what looks like tom and jerry, and he made sponge, cheese!
uniqueness - 10 very original and oviously spent a lot of time on it, loved it. also the shop was possibly one of the coolest things ive seen in maps
difficulty - 10 perfect flow of difficulty, it went from easy and gradually got harder, which is how most maps should go
enjoyment - 10 absolutly enjoyable, never a dull moment.
This was a simple parkour map with a little bit of puzzle inside. this is one of those maps that you would want to play it over again to see if you can do it even a little faster. however, some of the parts in the map were very confusing. the signs did have grammer mistakes, expecially around the monster portion and that made things very confusing. the map creator did have some good creativity and humor in this map when he added a giant spongebob to parkour on. like i said at the beginning, it is a simple parkour, no real fancy challenges and if you have played minecraft parkour maps before then you will see that most of the puzzles are repeated. this would be a great map to do if you were just starting out in the parkour maps. i finished this map in about 30 minutes, and collected 34 diamond on the way. i gave this map a 6 and here is why
challenge - 6 like i said simple, nothing to fancy, but it does have that fun aspect and the aspect of wanting to do it again but at a faster time, which is what im sure the creator was wanting to do
creativity - 7 the puzzles and the spongebob gave this map a higher rating, it ballanced the parkour and gave you stuff to think about.
unique - 5 nothing truely unique about the map, most of the puzzles were general and used before, however the spongebob set it apart from the rest.
enjoyment - 6 it was enjoyable to play, but there were dull moments that were not fun
Creeper eye was a very fun puzzle map. It was the type of map that you had to look around for everything in order to complete the map. each puzzle had its own unique challenge, and all most were very difficult to complete. the map creator (GeckoGuy and friends) also mixed up the enviorment alot to change things up so you dont have to look at the same boring stuff. i enjoyed playing this map very much, i loved the challenges and the feeling of why cant i figure this out. perhaps my favorite part of the map is the sign room, it mixed it the true or false questions with statements that you have to play hide and seek for. i finished this map in about 1 hour and i gave it a 8 and here is why
difficulty - 8 most challenges were difficult to complete, also the map creator had a progression in the difficultys which makes it better.
creativity - 8 with each puzzle having its own unique challenges, sign room, piston push, igloo, etc. it made this map creative and fun to play
use of tools - 9 very good use of levers, pistons, red stone, etc. i expecially liked the way you set up the forest maze when you have to look for something different
enjoyment - 8 i truely enjoyed this map, had good fun, highly recommendable. just be prepared to stop and think about what you have to do.
This map was accually pretty fun to play. it had a great storyline, good puzzles, wasnt to difficult, and quite enjoyable. i liked how the storyline was, and that you have to enter creeper mountain and blow it up, the city also set the mood along with the story. also the puzzles were not that difficult and were fun to do. the map had its own unique aspect to it when you have to feed a "creeper". the lava grid floor and minecart was also very unique and creative. this is a fun relaxing map to play when you have some relaxing time, and i recommend playing this map. i finished this map in about 1 hour and with 86 gold. i agev this map an 8 and here is why.
storyline- 8 this map had a very well designed storyline. its about a town becoming infected and looking for a hero(you) to save them from the infection caused by a creeper. the map was divided into 2 sections the town, and the mountain, each with its own unique style
difficulty-7 like i said very relaxing, fun to play, but nothing to difficult, if anything a small tweek in difficulty to make it more challenging would be better.
puzzles - 8 some puzzles were very unique, creative, and fun to play. i loved the watermelon room and the feed the creeper room.
enjoyment - 8 very fun, relaxing to play, very enjoyable, recommended to play.
This was a unique twist to the map "Skyblock" where you spawn on one block and have to build to other blocks in the sky. now the other blocks arent nearly as big as other maps, they are small but large enough to get nessessaries out of them. the goals also were very unique and creative to complete. i also had much fun getting to an island just to find what is on there, such as the animal island. i also found the snowman army quite enjoyable to do and to see many snowmen in one area is hylarious. i do recomend this map as a good survival map, if you enjoy making bridges and such. i finished this level in about 2-3 hours and finished 10/12 challenges. i gave this map a 7 and here is why.
survival ability - 8 the limited light at the start is very troublesome and can cause problems, also falling off a block can be a common occurence and not enjoyable when you do it.
unique - 6 many versions of skyblock have already been made, this one, however, sets itself apart with its tnt islnad, random blocks everywhere, and snowman army
challenges - 7 most of the challenges are fairly easy to complete, with a couple hard ones thrown in there, just how challenges should be
enjoyment - 7 i had fun playing this map, it was enjoyable, but after all the islands and stuff it lost its fun
This was not a good map at all. it was confusing, not challenging, storyline didnt flow, no fighting, basically nothing a adventure map should be. now i do understand that this is still in alpha mode and still requires alot of work, but with what i have seen so far it is not good to play right now. the story has great potential, with some work. this is not going to be much of a review but i finished this map in about 10 minutes and i gave it a 3 and here is why
storyline - 3 like i said the storyline has good potential, but needs alot of work, it jumped around alot, felt like it skipped alot of story, and left me very confused.
unique - 3 i will admit this is unique, but the way the map was set up and the shortness made its rating drop
challenge -2 very quick, very easy, had it on hard and saw no mobs.
This was a truely great map. It had an amazing storyline, mindblowing piston mechinisms, hellish mob fights, and great puzzles. all great concepts that should be implimented into adventure maps. this map has grown majorly in popularity after Yogscast's playthrough and this map truely deserves it. this map was a blast to play and i would diffinatly reccomend it to anybody. One of the best parts is the fact that if you cant do a certain puzzle or parkour, the map creator (sench73) gives you the option to pull a lever and it becomes much easier. i finished this map in about 1 hour and finished with a total of 125 points.
Storyline - 9 Truely great storyline, the whole pumpkin prince and the way an evil wizard was implimented was what mad it so good
Uniqueness - 10 there were many unique aspects to this map, such as a lever to make puzzles easier, the use of snowmen as characters, the timing puzzle, and the fountain of Hope
Use of Equipment - 10 pistons were used amazingly throughout this map, no bugs, flaws, or anything was found and each time it was used to perfection
enjoyment - 9 very very fun, would reccomend to anybody who decides to play it.
i will review it and i will try and compleate all challenges. i dont use fraps so i dont record it but i will do my best to put a detailed and accurate review. it may just take me longer because its a survival
