Honestly, this is my first map that isn't just a noteblock contraption. It's derived from "MyHouse.wad", an elaborate Doom II psychological horror map that is honestly awesome. I highly recommend it if you haven't played it yet.
This map was actually originally only going to be a one-off thing to use as background footage for a noteblock cover I made of "The Most Mysterious Song in the Internet", but it grew into something so much more that I just had to make this into something "playable".
Anyway, this is referencing one of the final moments in MyHouse, which is, spoiler alert: The Hell Gas Station Fight. Where you fight your way through an overwhelming amount of monsters get your happy ending.
So I wanted to replicate that little moment by first, rebuilding the Gas Station in Minecraft. Then, making a datapack and a function that summons all the monsters when triggered. I put this trigger under a jukebox with an observed, so the mobs spawn the moment you put the music disc provided in it. The music disc has been resource pack'd to have my cover on it. In case you don't want the song to play, I *think* you safely remove the disc without triggering the spawn mechanism again, but please let me know any issues.
Oh, please do note that I did not include a way to reset the map or even a way to recover from dying. If you die, you drop all your equipment and sent back to the start. And since there's an overwhelming amount of mobs, doubt you'll be able to recover from this predicament lol. So, please back up the world if possible for multiple attempts.
Main goal was making it as faithful to the source material as possible and dunno if I did a good job but... oh well, I had fun making this whole project and hope you do too! ^^
Remember, Happiness has to be fought for.
Equipment:
You are equipped with weapons inspired from Doom II.
Golden Pickaxe - stand-in for the Chainsaw; can be jitter clicked and can mine spawners
Bow with Infinity - ironically more useful than the Doom Pistol
Super Shotbow - doesnt really work as a shotgun due to how multishot works so ig its more of crowd control(?)
Diamond Sword - sweeping edge makes quick work of multiple enemies at once
Explosive Snowball - explodes when it hits something... try not to kill yourself with it
Loyal Trident - ima be honest and ran out of ideas with this one. its when you run out of arrows i guess?
BFG Crossbow - use the provided BFG Ammo which is a firework rocket stuffed with 9000 firework stars (not really) that will not only kill anything it touches, but also your framerate. try not to kill yourself with this too.
Note: for balance reasons please avoid using bfg ammo on the shotbow thanks
You are also provided with Mega Armor (Diamond Armor w/ Protection IV) but unlike the weapons, this has durability so be careful not to take too much damage since without this armor you'll die easily. You also have a supply of Golden Apples to help with recovering health quickly.
I don't really know how balanced this all is but hope it's good enough to have fun with it :]
Recommendations:
Brightness set to Moody for authenticity
"/trigger doomguySpeed" to be able to run much faster similar to Doomguy
Heavily based on the DOOM mod, MyHouse.wad
