I am happy to share my project : "Jet Strike" : a multiplayer shooter.
Launch trailer:
Reveal video:
What is this all about?
Jet Strike is an asymmetric, fast paced multiplayer action game.
Two teams fight in a customizable, randomly generated city.
The Strike Jets need to locate and destroy all objectives hidden inside the city's structures.
The Anti Air Force has to defend those objectives until the attackers run out of reinforcements
(more about victory conditions later on)
Players of both teams have three different classes to choose, each with their own playstyle.
Playable characters
Strike Jets:
The Standard Jet :
An all-around Strike Jet. Recieves a lot of regular Bombs to drop upon the enemy!
Ability : Boost : Recieve a firework to gain a speed boost. Refreshes over time.
The Diving Bomb Jet :
A heavy Strike Jet. Recieves a of very powerfull Diving Bomb : More powerful bomb which fall down vertically to the ground.
Ability : Boost : Recieve a firework to gain a speed boost. Refreshes over time.
The Thunder Jet :
The specialist in air to ground combat. Recieves a small number of regular Bombs. Can shoot anti-personell bullet burst.
Ability : Bullet Burst : Shoot a burst of air-ground bullets. Each bullet deals a moderate amount of AoE damage, so make sure all hit their target! Refreshes over time.
Ability : Boost : Recieve a firework to gain a speed boost. Refreshes over time.
Anti Air Force:
The Standard Cannon :
A jack of all trades, good at shooting down the Jets at any range.
Ability : Charged AA Shot : Fire a fast and deadly shot. Costs all bullets to use.
The Close Range Cannon :
Unmatched at medium to short distances. His HandCannon has the fastest rate of fire among the defenders.
Ability : Shotgun AA Shot : Shoot a spray of bullets. Deadly at close range! Costs a lot of bullets.
The Defuser Cannon :
Good enough at shooting down enemies. Focuses on supporting the defending team.
Ability : Defuser : Throws a defusing device. The device neutralizes bombs and bullets that come within its effective radius. Disappears after 8 defuses, or after being active for 10 seconds. This ability has a time cooldown.
Respawning
Strike Jets have a 15 second respawn timer.
Anti Air Force soldiers have no respawn cooldown, however they will be put back in action after 15 seconds. Strike Jets should go for kills only when necessary: They have a different goal to complete!
Booster Towers
These are special buildings that double the recharge rate of ammo for all AAF soldiers standing on the top floor
Glass Tower:
All AAF soldiers standing on the red glass get their ammo recharge rates doubled.
Reinforced Tower:
All AAF soldiers standing on the black glazed terracota get their ammo recharge rates doubled.
Objective blocks
Random buildings contain objective blocks. Destruction of an objective is indicated by a text message and a sound effect.
Example of an objective inside a building:
A modern house with an objective block (gold block)
Example of a building without any objectives inside:
A different modern house without any objective blocks (iron block instead of the gold block)
Victory conditions
As mentioned at the beginning, each team has a different victory condition, let's talk about them in detail:
The primary win condition
Anti Air Force:
Their primary goal is to shoot down the Strike Jets until they run out of reinforcements.
Strike Jets:
Their primary goal is to destroy all objective blocks scattered around the city
The secondary win condition : Deathmatch
If Deathmatch is enabled (see: Game Rules), the game does not end when a team fulfills their primary win condition.
The game turns into a Deathmatch instead:
Players from the "losing" team can no longer respawn.
The "winning" team has to eliminate all enemies to secure their victory.
If the "losing" team manages to complete their primary objective, they will prevent the "winning" team from respawing as well!
Now both teams have to fully eliminate the other to win!
Autobalancing
There is an optional "Lives Balancing" setting which will balance the game if teams have a different number of players.
Balancing consists of altering the number of Jet Reinforcements. It assumes that all players have simmilar experience with the game.
If you feel like the built-in autobalancing doesn't work for you, you can disable "Lives Balancing" and alter the "Jet Lives".
Gameplay customization
There is a lot of customization avaliable. Want more objectives to be generated? Don't like some buildings? Maybye you do not want to play through the Deathmatch phase? All that and more to be explained right now!
Game Rules
In the game settings menu, you can:
adjust the amount of objective blocks that are created
change the amount of reinforcements the Strike Jets start with (Jet Lives)
toggle Lives balancing - modify the total Jet Reinforcements if one team has more players
toggle the Deathmatch
toggle drawing of roads (cosmetic setting)
Building Generation
You can decide which buildings and in what numbers will be generated.
Don't like a bulding? Set its number to 0.
Really like a particular structure? You can increase its number!
Presets
Don't feel like messing around with the settings? Feel free to use one of the pre-made presets!
