The Grand Arena - A Minecraft Parkour Map by Sherazin
A note before the specific details:
-> This map is my first submission in minecraftforum, and first of all, even if you decided to click into this thread to check it out, thank you very much for doing so! And, of course, stick around if you'd like to!
-> This map is heavily inspired by tPC-esque parkour challenges, where specific structures with different themes are built, in various difficulties, for every single challenge. That being said, there are also several other inspirations that will be listed one by one in the "General Info" book within the map.
-> Despite a "full release" of an arena, I do not have any map testers other than myself, and they are more than welcome in this project! Also, if you are interested in building some challenges with me or submit your own community submissions, feel free to message me as well!
Map Name: The Grand Arena
Version: 0.8 (beta)
Challenge Count: 8
Arena Count: 1
Start Date: 2018.12.08
Last Update: First Published (2018.12.16)
These rules can be found in the Rule book in the game, but if you wish to read an easier-accessible version or a more up-to-date version, you can read them here.
1. Always play on PEACEFUL mode.
2. Always stay in gamemode 2 (adventure mode), unless the challenge changes it for you or needs you to change it for a specific section.
3. Always follow special instructions (such as can you sprint or not, you may not step on a specific block, etc) provided by the map.
4. Do NOT take advantage of map or challenge borders or anything outside of the course itself, unless they are part of the challenge as well.
5. Do NOT place or break blocks, unless you are instructed or allowed to do so under specific circumstances.
Difficulties & Awards:
Easy: Fairly easy jumps, usually beginner ladder/solid block 1-2 block jumps. 3 blocks might be seen, but extremely rare. There might be modifications of jumps such as height, but generally fairly easy jumps.
Reward: 1 Emerald
Normal: Similar to Easy, more 3 blocks jumps, use of variety of items as parkour jumps (fences, iron bars, rarely headhitters) and extremely rare instances, 3+1 or 4 block jumps.
Reward: 2 Emeralds
Hard: 3+1 and 4 block jumps are more common, but still extremely scarce comparing to the ratio of easier jumps. Several block varieties are used.
Reward: 4 Emeralds
Very Hard: Way more prominence in 3+1 and 4 block jumps, beginning to see more 2/3 block diagonal jumps as well. Neo or head-hitters are also more common. Stage length might be longer with more hard jumps.
Reward: 7 Emeralds
Extreme: No Data Yet.
Reward: 10 Emeralds
Demon: No Data Yet.
Reward: 15 Emeralds
Emeralds: Emeralds are the most common points you may find in this map. Every emerald counts as one point, and they will be rewarded at the end of a challenge, specific amount please reference Difficulty/Reward.
Diamonds: Diamonds are way harder to find as they lay within secret chests of different challenges. Generally, every challenge will have 1 secret diamond, though some have 2 as well. However, there are challenges (most of the time every 8th challenge) that contains no diamond at all. Each diamond counts as five points.
General Information & Flavor:
These can also be found in the General Info book in the map. However, this page will be consistently updated with each update.
Challenges: The main element of gameplay of this map is the challenges. Each challenge has a different difficulty, stage count, and of course, theme. These challenges range from Easy to Demon, specifics please refer to the previous spoilers.
Arenas: These act as "challenge packs" in a sense, as each arena came with 8 challenges. Access to other arenas requires the player to beat ONLY the 8th challenge of that arena, but not all of them.
8th/Final Challenges: These are the last, and also the 8th challenge of an arena. These are usually the hardest challenge of the specific arena, however there might be challenges that are harder than these in special circumstances. Every one of these challenges in the first 4 (number may fluctuate) Arenas will have a specific "artifact", matching the flavor of the final challenge (4 elements), to provide additional help to assist you to complete the specific challenge.
Arena Spawns: These are the main lobby for each arena, they may co-exist with the first challenge of each arena, or structured independently. There might be spawn teleporter in the future, but as of now you must walk through arenas via Arena Corridors.
Arena Corridors: These are corridors, usually co-exist with the 8th challenges, that connects two separate arenas. At the end of the corridor there will usually be an iron door that will require a lever obtained from beating the 8th challenge to unlock the next arena. These are the main structures to visit different arenas as of now.
