I really enjoy the map but the sound issues make it a bit annoying. I left the game at the part of making dialogue choice because I didn't hear anything. When I came back I realised I can't do anything because I hadn't clicked one of those buttons. So I have to start all over...
Nevertheless, playing to that moment felt awesome!
P.S. I managed to find the right strip of command blocks and restarted the sequence. The ending and last boss fight are impressive (Ending I)
Yeah if you leave in the middle of a conversation it can break the map. I'll put a warning about that next time I update the map.
i have been waiting SOOO long for this map to release and now it has..... I'm curious to know what you're going to make next....
My next map project is currently called "Song of the Siren"
It is set in the same universe as the Exodus maps, but takes place about 100 years earlier.
100 years earlier? What year does Exodus take place again?
There's a timeline at the start of Exodus 3 that says:
Exodus 1: 2144
Exodus 2: 2145
Exodus 3: 2146
So Song of the Siren would wind up being in about the mid 2040's.

In the meantime I've outlined the first third of Song of the Siren,
Also made some major decisions for the next map as well.
Such as:
The Player / Alex Monroe (Will only have a female voice) This is due to a variety of factors, mainly determined based on the path of the storyline.
I have also made Alex Monroe a member of the Federation (Which if you've played Season 3 you may find interesting).
I'm currently in the process of writing the script for my next map, and perhaps in the not so distant future I'll release the first teaser.
The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.

Great job the map series ! I've been following this series for years. My sibling and I have great times playing!
Since I don't want to spent another 4 hours to replay the map for different options, is there way for us to choose different options to see the different Endings?

I'm surprised you're already making another map but are you not you concerned that only you might end up with something like Half life 3 or Herobrine 3, like this map took 21 MONTHS to make and this concerns me because if you look at Hypixel, with every new map he tried to make it better and more groundbreaking but ended investing so much time it he in with no end (and having to redo the whole map again) in sight so it just put to the side so how long will this map roughly take to finish and what im basically saying eventually your hit a roadblock on trying to be better then the last and on an another note will it have any sort connection to exodus (i know it's a 100 years apart but there has to be a reason for a shared universe)
Edit: I'm not trying to sound pessimistic but I have seen amazing minecraft just go away because they simply can't out do themselves or updates happen and put all their projects to a grinding halt after spending way too much time like happen to FVdisco and the one mentioned above
One major flaw I found in this map is lag. Not the fps type of lag, entity lag. This could be caused by the overwhelming number of commands being executed, even with gamerule commandblockoutput false.
For example, the citizens in the city (zombies), were actually stuttering while moving around. This ruins the immersion.

There isn't an easy way to do so, as there are a multitude of factors that go into determining the ending you get. However if you wish there are several long strings of command blocks that will activate each of the 8 endings but may not work properly if solely activated. They are set in the episode 4 commands which is directly in front of the monument/ achievement room.

Well to be honest, Exodus Season 3 is likely the biggest map I will ever make, for some time. If there was ever a map that would not be completed due to the scale it was Season 3. However for Song of the Siren, I am taking a step back and doing a different approach. In a way I have limited myself to make the map take place all in one location (granted its still pretty big) but when compared to Season 3, Song of the Siren is about 1/10th of the size. But just because its gonna be smaller doesn't mean it won't be great. I am in the process of writing the script at the moment and I am liking how it is turning out so far. There are several connections to the Exodus Universe and it won't feel out of place. It is a look at a different but connected segment of time. For instance the player will play as a woman named Alex Monroe who is trying to rescue her kidnapped child. (The last name obviously means Alex is related to Hollis and Ryan in some way) There is also going to be a character named Scarlett Underwood who also plays a key role in the map. I am taking careful steps to insure that these connections to the Exodus maps have significant reasons that add to the overarching storyline of the Exodus Universe.
One major flaw I found in this map is lag. Not the fps type of lag, entity lag. This could be caused by the overwhelming number of commands being executed, even with gamerule commandblockoutput false.

Should have seen it in beta. (It was horrendous). I have taken every possible step to reduce all tick lag in the map. If you are experiencing tick lag, possibly try reducing the render distance slightly, or restarting minecraft or (the server) if the game has run out of memory. This happens occasionally.

Just curious, what were the commands being run that caused the entity lag? I'm guessing its the /tp command since the zombies (citizens) were moving in specific directions. I once tried creating a custom mob path for a single {NoAI} Villager and it spammed the chat.

It is a series of tp commands that when certain criteria is met, tp the zombies in a specific direction. The system uses about 12 commands but usually they are not all playing. Minecraft can handle up to 20 commands in 1 tick before tick lag begins to become an issue. (However this number can drop if the computer is struggling to keep up) Even if a command spams the chat, it doesn't mean that it is causing lag, it just means it is (in the case of repeat commands) playing 1 command per tick. (20 ticks in 1 second).
I really enjoy your maps. It's very epic! There are 8 different endings really awesome!!
I think chinese player would be love your map, but they are not that good at English. Therefore I am here to ask for your permission to translate your map into Mandarin and repost it on the biggest Chinese minecraft forum, mcbbs.net, and my own minecraft launcher, BakaXL.
With your permission, more people in China would be able to enjoy your map without any language struggle. I will make sure to give you your credits which means your name, original link, and authorization email will be indicated on the post as the original creater. Also, I have to ask for your permission to create a alternative download link for your work, while our dear government blocked most of the accesses to foreign download source with the "Great Fire Wall"; VPN is usable in the case, but most Chinese people don't have access to it.The proper credit will be given to you in the download link too.
Finally, thank you for spending time to read this.
I got stuck. Maybe because I am a n00b or might be a bug, not sure
I took the Elytra down to the city to try and find the church. I landed OK and found Sarah's diary #5, but no way to scale the wall. Every point I tried had invisible barriers.
I've been waiting for this to come out for ages and I was thrilled that Exodus Season 3 overwhelmed my expectations.
Problem is, I'm in front of the capitol and after R3d and Sarah had their lines I got stuck. No option to choose, barrier still on top of the wooden bridge. I've waited for about 20 minutes for some trigger to happen but no dice. Any ideas on what I should do?

I'm all for a translation, however it would be extremely difficult. For one thing in order to add subtitles, it would require an extensive remapping of redstone. Only other way is to redo all 1000 lines and then retime everything. It would be a nightmare to do.

Did a cutscene activate with R3D and Sarah talking? If not run back to the last wooden barrier gate and see if says Objective: speak with R3D and Sarah.
If not we may have to go into the redstone and reactivate something. Let me know.
R3d and Sarah was talking but there was no "cutscene like" point of view as I was able to move about freely. I tried to fix it myself and upon finding two command blocks on the left hand side I thought of activating them both though that triggered boss battle with both R3D and Sarah turning into bosses. So I guess I messed up the whole system by doing that.
Ergo I'm going to replay Exodus season 3 from fresh to see it was just some lag or something. Got to be, because many people had no problem finishing this brilliant map. I still need to wait until weekend though, I doubt that I'll have time before that. But hey, thanks! If I'm successful at going over that problem, I'm thinking of playing the whole Exodus series again for it's such a great map and fascinating storyline :)))
