The 'classic' Minecraft map: ENIGMA from version 1.5 is now updated to be compatible with the newest version, 1.11.2. Re-visit a simpler time in Minecraft. This is the 2nd installment in the EXTINCTIA series. Hours of entertainment await you in ENIGMA, a world full of peril and adventure created by the brothers and map designers that brought you Extinctia: Wero Edward and Zombill A.K.A. Michael Cowart & Bill Cowart (MNB) In the immense world of ENIGMA, you awaken in the village of Emyn Muil (one of the 6 villages you will encounter on your journey), your destiny dictates that you collect the 7 diamonds and conquer their corresponding temples. Then you must gather the 3 golden swords, and return these fabled items to the Temple of the Artifacts which will then grant you access to the final stages of the game. Travel through the towns of Emyn Muil, Umbridge, Saytoda Instry, The ruins of Higindi, The Hidden Emerald Mine, and lastly Hrobin, all of which contain numerous side quests and diversions to keep you busy, while making your way back and forth between the various temples scattered across the land.
It's a winrar file so you need to open it by double clicking on it, click and drag the ENIGMA file from inside the winrar to your saves folder for Minecraft. That should do it. The saves folder is located in your .minecraft folder. I hope this helps! No resource packs are needed. No texture packs are needed. Pixel Perfection is the texture pack we used for the pictures if you want to recreate the same feel. This adds a round sun and full moon, brown and yellow colored ivy, and other subtle differences. This is entirely optional.
I just want everyone to know that we are currently working on a new map, I cannot disclose the name right now, but it is close to being finished and though it takes a very different turn from Enigma, it will still be very epic and should be given a try.
I don't want to seem full of myself but I have to say that I love the photographs of this map, it really showcases some of the most beautiful parts of the landscape, but there are so many more places to explore, you should check it out yourself!
Firstly, your trailer is quite laggy and has a very short render distance. It is not enough in showing what players will encounter. And the link minecraftmaps.org doesn't work.
Despite this, I went and tried out the map, expecting good bosses and cool quests. But when I first spawned into the game, read the book and went outside, I was a bit dismayed, since there's no text speeches telling me where to go. Yes, I know I am supposed to explore the map, but having no text speeches like /tellraw makes the map bland compared to other similar adventure maps. The builds of the map are average and not so impressive. There are no barrier blocks that prevent me from exiting the main playing area, so I could have accidentally wandered off elsewhere and entering caves where I am not supposed to go. Lastly, I was in survival mode instead of adventure mode, so I can cheat so easily.
Please don't let this map go overlooked. This is one of the best maps ever made.
I'm sorry, but this map isn't the best, even though it took 3 years to make it. Time doesn't equal effort, and try not to self praise in the posts.
I understand that you're trying to use bombastic words to try advertise this adventure map of yours, but keep it to a minimum, and try to engage with us Minecraft players instead in a personal level. Hope you can improve and release another map! Try to look at other maps for inspirations.
I'm sorry you are so bitter and your outlook is so negative. We were going for a Zelda feel, totally free range, it's very obvious where to go & where not to go, if you don't see any buildings or man made structures you are obviously venturing too far, it's not difficult to figure out. I am a little shocked at your very mean and hurtful comment, this was a labor of love. Not all maps are for everyone, that's for sure. When I come across maps I dislike I don't slam another's creation. I simply don't comment. The mossy cobble stone path marks very clearly where to go... it is a puzzle map so things like that are only going to be noticed by smart people. I'm sorry also that you aren't keen eyed enough to have noticed such an obvious thing. We didn't think that needed explaining. To be locked in adventure mode would break the map, I don't know what to tell you there. Our maps are interactive & more exciting than being stuck in adventure mode. Sorry you don't understand that. The video is from a very long time ago & a working link is clearly marked in the video's description on YouTube. We were also using a demo screen recorder... you can tell this by the demo screen recorder watermark on the video. We have since upgraded as everyone does & gotten more professional prior to your negative & discouraging words. The FARKOUR video is much better. Having a trailer at all is so far above & beyond what's expected that I can't really feel bad about your opinion of it. Each map & video marks a diary page in every builder's career. Most people who can't really create anything, have to destroy. I guess that's where you come in. You really cheated yourself out of something grand. I would hate to be you. Luckily, I'm not.
Also, I think what you meant to say was... wandered off elsewhere & entered caves where I was not supposed to go. The fact that you have to be forced not to cheat speaks for itself. Suggesting we lock it in adventure, this would break the map. Suggesting we don't mark out the path... there's a mossy cobble stone path that traverses the entire map so you know exactly where to go and cannot get lost. He claims we have unimpressive builds... there's a giant castle, enormous ship in the water, 7 huge temples, 3 temples of the artifacts, a giant end temple called the Citadel Of Night, a fire pyramid, tons of handcrafted villages, tons of hidden stuff the critic probably never even found or got to (like the hidden emerald mine), a giant cemetery, churches, a running aqueduct that travels across 3 towns, 2 enormous clock towers. 2 enormous mazes... I'm starting to wonder if this guy even saw our map. When you speak to the town elder in the town you spawn in, he gives you a map with a giant red x marking where to go... this happens throughout the game. Only a simpleton who failed to properly explore his surroundings would have had trouble in this area. I'm sorry again that you have little experience in questing maps. Practice makes perfect. Also, in the bottom of your complaint, I think you meant to say: bombastic words to try to advertise, or bombastic words to try advertising. Another thing, when you say time doesn't equal effort you probably meant to say that time doesn't equal quality. Time spent perfecting something & the effort put into perfecting it are pretty much the same thing. When you highlighted my quote saying This is one of the best maps ever made & responded with this map isn't the best, I would think that was obvious. I said, This is ONE OF THE BEST MAPS EVER MADE. I never claimed it was THE BEST MAP. I think people can see that you are not the kind of person who's opinion really matters in relation to this map since you have made your intelligence level, painfully clear here.

I commented with all my honesty and tried my best to even give you suggestions to make a better map. Instead, you responded by criticizing me for just picking out the flaws of the map and kept insisting on saying that your map is good. You even tried to pick out one little flaw about my comment (best map). I've checked out your map, entered spectator mode after the end, looking at what has been done for 3 years, and gave my review. Learn to accept criticisms and stop being butthurt. At least you got a review. Like I said, go and look at other similar adventure maps and compare to this. The builds are average. I am just trying to help you and I didn't mean to hurt you.
Just curious, why will adventure mode break the map?
Well in your own words, you cheated. I pointed out 5 or 6 errors with your comment, not one. The 'flaws' you mentioned with our map were your own mistakes, as I pointed out. Bummer you aren't smart enough to solve puzzles. Some thought capability is required. I never once kept insisting that my map was good. You are obviously NOT our target audience but I'll explain the survival thing to you. Hunger, lever placing & other things that are apparent if you played the map... which I'm guessing by your confusion you never did. I love criticism, it's attack & false statements that bother me. I guess I just don't see the point in slandering another's creation. As for the hate speech used in your last comment, let's try to keep it clean? We don't need to persecute sexual preferences & use graphic hate speech to try to communicate, do we? Why bring a sexual comment onto the Minecraft forums? That just seems highly inappropriate to me. I am trying to diplomatically finish this now so please just go your way... we get it, you didn't like a map you cheated through if actually played at all. Have a nice life. There's really no need for any further attack here.
Well, I played it, and I would like to say that I'm simply being truthful, not hating. I found that the building was not necesarily the best, the dungeons were too short, and it just felt like it could have been better. It brought back the feels, though, of one of my favorite Adventure Maps of all time: Aramis. All in all: I would say that the potential is there, a little more attention to detail would have been nice.
ENIGMA is actually an older map of ours that we updated to be compatible with newer versions of Minecraft. I think a lot of people expect 1.10 technology & blocks from a map that was actually made in version 1.5 or earlier. I wasn't as experienced building yet, that's for sure. The story is what immerses me in that world. The 3rd installment in the trilogy dwarfs this one in comparison just as this one dwarfs EXTINCTIA. They each out do their previous installments entirely. Extinctia is now a cute little thing like the 1st Zelda. Enigma is a slightly rethought, upgraded version like Link was to Zelda. Our 3rd is basically upping the ante to the Super Nintendo version... same continuing story, more advanced technology. As we get better, so do our maps. I invite you to continue monitoring our progress throughout our journey. Did you decode the ancient language of the Higindians? Did you find the hidden Emerald mine? Did you find the smile powder salesman? Did you find Juan, the Spanish Speaking pant salesman? Did you find Kevin in both maps? Did you notice that the clock in Emyn Muil was set to 4:20? The book in Higindi actually is translatable... you can find out the lore of Higindi & it's history by translating it's pages. Did you find the comet next to the Higindian ruins? Did you read the book buried there in the sand? Did you complete the trading sequence to obtain the full diamond armor? One last thing, I'd like to point out that most attention to detail was focusing on Easter eggs from the 1st map. This is a sequel. The emerald mine used to be much higher in elevation... it has long since sunk into the earth where it is currently buried. If you played & beat Extinctia you'd enjoy the fact that the enemy in this map is the hero from the last. Thank you for playing, thank you for your honest opinion, I respect that.
The next one is still in the works. We will share a link as soon as it's ready. I think we are going to remove Extinctia & Enigma & re post them as classic maps that have been updated to be compatible with newer versions. I believe the problem is that people are expecting 1.10 technology from a map that was finished the second the quartz update came out. This could cause some confusion. We have been copy & pasting the description from a MUCH older version of Minecraft, the description was accurate when it was made but creates unreal expectations for a current player.

I'm really sorry! I just realized I was criticizing you recently purely due to the thread description style, as it was from old Minecraft. The presentation of the map in a thread tells everything, so I must have assumed. That doesn't mean your Enigma map is bad though! It would be seen as great back in the old Minecraft days, as command blocks were limited and the builds do give a nostalgic feel. But now its a classic as we progress further in Minecraft. I removed my post about the several and seven thing and hope you can accept my apology
Not a problem. We need to re-package it as a 'classic' map. That honestly never occurred to me. I ran it by my bro & we're gonna make those changes. Thank you for being cool enough to come back and say that. Just curious, I'm pretty new on here, how do I remove a post?

The download link is right here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zzq7ewnw0mfviqo/ENIGMA Masterfile Perfect.rar
Here is the trailer for ENIGMA:
I'll try it out. Does it require any resource packs or anything?
EDIT: I downloaded the file but my computer doesn't recognize the file. I assume it's in some compressed form. What do I need to do to make it usable?
It's a winrar file so you need to open it by double clicking on it, click and drag the ENIGMA file from inside the winrar to your saves folder for Minecraft. That should do it. I just thought some people might want to check out the commercial for ENIGMA. Minecraftmaps.org no longer exists.

To sum it all up,
-Unimpressive builds
-Not immersive, gets boring after a while
-Bland
-No advanced command blocks
-Not cheat proof
-No cool boss fights

So, the path is actually moss stone brick rather than mossy cobble stone, my bad.
