Great map, I really liked the area design and the block choices.
Actual spoiler, don't read unless you've already played:
Only issue was that i found an empty chest in the house with the black crystal, I'd recommend just removing the chest considering there another chest on the roof anyway, and having better items isn't really a big deal when the final monument block is under your feet.
Hey there, I completed your map today and I just wanted to leave a little review here for you, since it was enjoyable.
Design - The designs of each area stood out perfectly. You had the lush forested caves, the mesa desert-like canyon and the snowy tundra castle. They each stood out and you could tell the areas were different from each other. The block variation was fun and I liked how in the Red Glass area, you had the spawners hidden away under a different coloured stained clay which showed you put thought into the placement of spawners. My main concern was the Tundra area since it felt very repetitive. I've seen snow areas like that before in maps and there wasn't really a lot of originality in what you built.
However, I feel that's fine, since this map wasn't made to break new ground but to simply give us a nice Mini-CTM to tide us over. And it was a good 1 hour map.
Difficulty - This is interesting. It's not a difficult map, let me just emphasize that. Each area was sufficiently simple and the armour you could collect from the enemies went up in tiers to show an increase in difficulty. Yet ironically I felt that the first area of the map was perhaps the most difficult. The main fear was creepers. Because if they blew up near the walls, you'd have a wave of silverfish flying at you and it would be difficult to handle. It was good design and I think it built up the difficulty too much, since the other two areas were cake walks.
The second area was my favourite though in terms of difficulty. The progression was natural, the spawners were spread out thoroughly and it all felt like it flowed well together. That wasn't the case with the black wool/glass area. It started off promising, spawners out the gate, a snow golem you could build, I even encountered a spider jockey on the way through the tunnels. But the castle was a little saddening. It was enjoyable clearing out the spawners and I did encounter my only death as I retreated after losing my health. But I wasn't concerned about that death since it felt less like it was the map that got me and more of just me being a little greedy.
So I come back, I grab all my stuff, re-arrange my inventory, run to the castle and... There's the glass. I was one spawner away from a no-death run. The thing is, I felt like there was going to be more to the area. The castle could have had a second layer, that would have been so intense. But no such luck. It just... ended.
Lore - As you added lore, I'm going to judge it, and it was both basic and sort of unimportant. I feel like having lore books in each of the areas could have been interesting but aside from the main lore books, the only other book I found was the sacrifice book. And that basically said for us to jump into lava. The issue is that after I finished the map, I went there and jumped in, only to find nothing. There was no real point to that option. If you're going to include the lore, we want to see results. Something that could happen when we got all the glass, something that could have happened if we'd sacrificed ourselves. It felt unneeded.
Overall Enjoyment - Ignoring the lore, I enjoyed the map. It was fun, relaxing and provided a thrilling one-hour of gameplay. I'd recommend this map to anyone looking for a fun time, but don't go into it expecting any lore or huge difficulty spikes.
