Welcome to the thread for the maps created by the CTMCommunity team!
The first map, Discordancy, was made over the course of a year by over 40 individuals working together on a single server to create this map for your enjoyment! Featuring 12 unique areas with varying degrees of difficulty, challenge, and exploration, players should find themselves enchanted by the beautiful and dangerous adventure set before them, as they attempt to complete the Discordant Monument and win the game!
The second map, Austerity, was made over the course of several months by 14 mapmakers, each working on an individual area. This map, inspired by Kaladun's Minimalist, is a map made entirely within a series of 31x31x31 bedrock cubes, and each area is contained within one of them. This challenging constraint required mapmakers to design areas as intelligently as they could. Featuring 12 compact yet beautiful areas, this smaller map will still force you to play like any other map! Complete the monument, and win the game!
Can you overcome the challenges set before you and earn all 12 Discs, or will the chaos of the world swallow you like the heroes that came before?
Curious about what the areas are, it seems? Well, you've come to the right place...

Having briefly seen the map a few months back it will be a lot of fun to play when it's ready for release and congrats Fang for nearing the finish line on this monster of a project!
HYYYYYYYYPE so glad we're finally finishing this, it's been sitting mostly-done for too long
I discovered with some joy I didn't have work for two days in a row... after mentioning this baby to someone I realized it was about time to get this ready, so here it is! It's just so satisfying to have it "together" at last.
Side Question: How soon do you expect this to be released?
Like Tasch said, I'd give it a couple weeks. There's not too much more work that needs to be done! Mostly making sure two specific areas are "done", balancing and tweaking mobs and loot, and finishing up stuff with the hidden Prismarine shards
This zone looks really boring to the eye in aesthetics apartment, it's to me the normal zone of tha common CTM, If you wanna do something better in that zone never mix two light colors, like light gray and orange, better, try with dark gray with combinations of black or dark textures with the orange one. I kno that lava it's ugly in minecraft, but if you can, try mix lava with others warmer color in the back.

Quite honestly, I'm really happy with how the area turned out aesthetically. The picture I got there is actually of the most well lit section, and between the shadows, the structures, and the lava used, as you progress through that segment of the area (this bit is near the end, but it's much larger than that, and looks far different as it progresses) it turns out really nicely. I might do a few tweaks to blocks here and there, but nothing extreme.
I really disagree that mixing lights is a bad thing though. Mixing a dark and a light often ends up with a far more chaotic and displeasing block noise than mixing blocks with more similar shades to create something that flows a bit more. In this specific case, the greys and browns with the orange all stay within the same shade family - lighter colors to not intentionally grab your eye too heavily, allowing you to focus on the structures rather than the walls. If I was to add anything here, it'd be more likely Diorite for a lighter tone, to make the structures pop.

I had been trying to create an area for this map one year ago.
But it was deleted lol.
Hype is real
I don't care about the Xs. You can call me Navarog. Or Nava if you really want to be a hipster. It's fine.
*Now injecting hype into bloodstream*
Can't wait to play this: Looks awesome!
Side Question: How soon do you expect this to be released?
I have spring break coming up soon, and I'll have plenty of time to test, so I might guess within the next couple of weeks. Not guaranteed, though.
Hey, if I missed your name on the credit board (which it seems I did), I'll be sure to get it on there!

Whoa, why am I credited? Not complaining, just not sure what I did. Please keep me up there <3

Good luck guys, it was fun working on it. Btw what is the netherrack castle's area name?
Who is "xnx"?

You did some stuff according to the server log! I could always take you off :3
That ended up being Shrine of the Last currently, but it's totally open to change if you wanted a different name!
He made The Shame of Adonis.
Oh, was this the one where I was gonna build a lavatree and then forgot about it?

Oh man, this map is finally coming out. It's been such a long time since I've looked at it.
Not to nitpick, but I definitely pitched in on one of the areas and I don't see my name. Is the board more for people who made big contributions?

It's entirely possible I missed your name in the server log! I'll make sure you get on there before anything gets released!
