Tired of all the eye candy CTMs? Want a return to "Simpler" times? Well I've got a treat for you. In the style of Vech's custom maps, a death fortress, in all it's glory! Da-Da-Daaaa! The map is split into four towers with a top floor, which houses the Ancient Monument, the trigger for blowin' the map to smithereens. Mae with completely vanilla techniques apart from item names, this is sure to be a fun challenge for all... if you're the kind of person that goes I haven't nearly died enough today.
Disclaimer: This map may be rage inducing. You have been warned.
The Ancient Monument. (Note: pressure plates where the pistons are.)
The Army Barracks- Stacked to the brim with starter gear!
The Escape Pool
H.M.S. Imperium Ghosfleet (Outside)
Imperium Ghostfleet (Inside)
Reach the top of the tower, climb up the Ancient Monument (The stone-brick prismarine thing at the top level), step on the pressure plates, and glide away as the map blows itself sky-high. What, you ask, want more specific instructions? All right. You gear up, charge through the towers, go to the floating ghost ship, find the elytra on the lower deck, ender pearls on the roof, then epearl over to the top of the tower, climb up the Ancient Monument, step on the pressure plates, and ender pearl or fly to the escape pool near the barracks where you spawn.
That counts as winning. Post your times below, for either normal or hard difficulty. All golden apples are intended to be usable, and the extra gear is for re-tries and/ or playing with friends. It is heavily recommended that you play with friends. It is much harder on solo. If you want to, you may turn keep inventory on. I won't blame you.
Note: This map is on normal difficulty, but is more FUN on hard!
1. Don't die.
2. Don't die
3. Don't die.
4. Don't cheat.
5. Use everything you know to win.
6. Don't die.
7. Normal CTM rules don't apply.
Cheaty Items: (Spoilers ahead~)
So, after some beta testing my my friends, apparently everyone though it posed some difficulty in completion. Well, I've remedied that by putting in some... admin items. These were intended to help me play-test and "blow through" the map to test for holes in the architecture and structure, but I included them by popular demand. If you're posting your time, also post whether you used these.
1. Goldsander, bane of death
Named after the Goldsander sword in Vech's custom maps, this sword infuses you with holy wrath. Use it wisely. Found in the Workshop Room.
This bow can be found on the main floor of the flying ship H.M.S. Imperium Ghostfleet. It is inscribed with the words: Fear me. And that's exactly what it does.
1.0.0 2/3 Uploaded map. Yay!
1.0.1 2/3 Corrected pressure plate error. Rebalanced some areas,
I will hopefully be able to help you with further map development with some constructive criticism and opinions.
I could see your ideas and what you wanted to create whilst playing this map and almost enjoyed it for a second, the beginning had a lot of potential in terms of a mysterious location where all you have is armor and food, and from that I got my hopes up.
Then when I started to actually play the map, i got the sense that it was rushed, I thought "this person has downloaded TooManyItems and has just put spawners everywhere" this ruined the map for me. I stopped playing because literally, all a player has to do to 'complete' this map, is run through a building with about 20 spawners on each floor. I'm going to use the word 'mysterious' again because that's what it was, there was no story as to how I go there, what I had to do or how to beat the game. It lacked an entire story, i had to use my instinct and just run through the map not knowing what to do.
However, with that being said, I appreciate the fact you put a boarder around your map, this is something a lot of other map creators don't do. I appreciated the effort you went to in order to build your map and the amount of time it must of taken to build everything, but again, it lacked a story and felt there was no attention to detail, almost as if you built the body of a car and just put deck chairs inside.
I look forward to playing other maps you build.
I understand your comments, and will reflect on them. I tried to give the map a sense of challenge, which to be fair, didn't do much but spam the map with monsters. I did build a few interesting features into the map tho, in the second tower if you fall down the waterfall... good luck. However, I see that I have lacked the finesse to truly polish my map, and most of my effort went into building scenery that only became an obstacle as the player was completely uninterested. In hindsight, I should have put in more flow, but then again, super hostile simply started as maps that said "survive." Yeah, so...
