Please refrain from posting 9/11 comments here: this is unaffiliated with the events of that day. Note that the S.H. TOINNE CENTER is not the World Trade Center. Its design--although similar in principle and analogous in layout--isn't identical to the original complex.
Inspired by the original World Trade Center, The S.H. TOINNE CENTERwas designed and built by me . A project of this size required many hours of work, and is the culmination of six years of Minecraft experience. Furthermore, the creation was entirely constructed in creative mode on a vanilla client, however no world-editing mods were used: the complex was manually built from scratch.
The S.H. TOINNE CENTER is dedicated to Minoru Yamasaki; Architect. R.I.P.
The S.H. TOINNE CENTERis based off the original World Trade Center complex: featuring iconic Twin Towers, a plaza, as well as four low-level buildings. There's a total of seven structures in the complex--including an underground facility. Version 3.0includes a list of major new updates to the existing map. Large sections of the original complex are now completely finished.
VERSION 3.0 FOR MINECRAFT 1.12.1 OFFICIALLY RELEASED!!!
Thanks for the suggestion! Iron was my block of choice because it's the closest thing to steel in the game; I want metal buildings. However, I was contemplating to fit the building(s) in a decorative gray banner cladding. Texture pack is Minecraft HD x64. I'm aware of other packs which make iron blocks a stone-gray color. To be perfectly frank Yannix I respectfully prefer iron over stone. Besides it would take oodles of work to refit what's already there, again this is my taste after owning MC 4 years. With respects to stone towers; been there done that on this old beta server operated by a Russian. Being admin there granted full access to roam around and build a town where I made a couple of twin towers made of stone. No screenshots remain from that era and the server's been shut down, so you'll have to settle for my word.
We're on the same level of brain-thinkin'. I conducted a little experiment; 6 TNT blocks vs. wall. Let's just say there was a hole, but it was easily repairable! I would like to open a public download so all people have access; it would be a waste if this map got left to one dude and a singleplayer save.
Here's a couple of construction screenshots; showing how it was made.
That day is today my friend! This is an outdated version. Keep in mind that it's incomplete; expect updated versions! In the mean time feel free to explore--explode--my creation. Post screenshots on this thread if you blow it up.
First of all it's on a superflat world. I built it close to the generic world spawn; try respawning? I test the copy to spawn players close, not sure why you can't find it. Nevertheless coords are in the vicinity of X: 150.00 Y: -870.00
If the world you downloaded isn't superflat we've got real issues.
Mind making a server I love this building and I would love to help! I got shaders for future screenshots
Thanks for the wonderful compliments and while some help would be nice, I'm a strict builder and I need my space. Last time I checked, servers are a P.I.T.A. to setup; and to maintain. I'm not willing to go through that dedication anymore. The download serves as a template; for singleplayer or multiplayer functions. If someone has the dedication to make a server of the map (with full credtits to me) I'd be grateful, and would be more than happy to visit. Work on? I prefer to keep a source copy of the map for security; that's the 'Genesis' copy where I do all my work. You could help me by getting word out to your friends. All I want is for this great map to be recognized and appreciated; just like the real originals.
P.S. Just downloaded shaders for my own visual purposes!
