Poll: What new features should I add to the map?

Abandoned by people at least.
Through some exploration, you discover that King Schuster apparently opened a portal to the Underworld, and the only way to close it is to bring the four Golden Apples to God, or so they say. However, as you progress, you'll discover things are not what they seem, and darker twists than you could have imagined are inevitable.

1. I started building this map way back during Beta 1.3_01, back when HUNGER was not even in the game yet.
2. The map was originally being built as my personal home, but when I saw how creepy it could look without any torches lighting it up, it inspired me to turn it into a horror map.
3. The entire map before the Great Library was 100 percent built in vanilla SSP. Every block of stone was smelted, every block of wool dyed, every block of iron and obsidian crafted and mined respectively. Then I began discovering things like MCEdit and TMI.
4. There are two secret rooms in the map that are inaccessible without breaking the walls. One is in the Dining Hall at the very beginning of the map, if you break the wall open that the chest is on, you'll find a small kitchen filled with crafting tables, furnaces, and chests filled with organized food types. One chest contains pork chops, the only type of meat at the time that I began building the map, and each chop is in it's own inventory space because you couldn't stack food back then!
The second secret room is under the first library. It is the easiest to get down here in spectator mode. You'll find a small cobblestone room with a chest, bed, and two furnaces, with a spiral staircase in the center. The staircase is blocked with netherrack, but if you go down far enough, you'll find the rest of it, leading to a hallway that lead to the end of the very first map demo.
5. Old demo versions of the map had enchanting tables, allowing you to enchant your gear. However, in the final version, mob drops were turned off so you couldn't get early bows from skeletons. As a result, mobs didn't drop XP anymore either, making enchanting tables useless.
6. There was a dog that you could take with you at the lumberjack's cabin in the woods leading to the hospital wing. This dog existed in every version of the map until the final version, where I removed him because I felt he took away from the lonely atmosphere of the map.
7. There used to be Ender Pearls in the map, but they were removed because they made it too easy to get outside of the map.
8. There used to be a "torch score" feature implemented in the map, where players would have a score at the end based on how many torches they had left. It was removed, however, because I found that people were not using the torches because they wanted a good score, effectively ruining the intended gameplay for the map.
9. Every single diary and note used to be written on signs because there were no writable books in the game for a long time. You can still find remnants of this if you found the "fish" easter egg, in which his diary is written on signs instead of a book.
10. The fireplace in the lumberjack's log cabin has a bit of dialogue with the player commenting that it's lit. However, it's not lit at all, instead, glowstone was put there to simulate the effect, blocked by slabs. The reason for this is because when I originally built the cabin and lit the fire, I left to continue building other parts of the map. When I returned, I found that the entire cabin burned to the ground with it.
11. The character Karsten Flusse, the man who runs the bathhouse, is actually named after myself (though roughly translated)
12. The buckets of milk throughout the map serve no actual purpose. They were originally there because the map featured Cave Spiders in older versions, the milk was meant to stop the poison if you were hit by one. I removed the Cave Spiders, but completely forgot the milk buckets.
Excellent for making a server!
Gentlemen137 is a living skeleton that can play (bone) instruments really well!
Though he don't have friends and would like to be hugged.
Once you've hugged, you will soon be one of his kindYou got prank'd.
Planned features:
-A full gameplay rebalancing will be done at some point (I'll probably wait for 1.9 to do it) because currently I'm not too happy with the abundance of armor, weapons, food, and money. Not hard enough dammit!
-More fun facts! :DDDDDDD
-Potential sequel/expansion depending on how the map is received as well as if I have the time/interest
amazing!
Great! I'll be waiting for it. Hope you enjoy the map!
Thank y0u!
Thanks!
Updated with new download link. Fixed one misplaced block that drove me crazy upon discovering it. Map should be about 100x better now tbh
This is a really cool map. I did have a couple of questions.
1. What are the map rules concerning weapons? I didn't see anything about weapons in the rule book, and I took a sword from an item frame (sorry if I wasn't supposed to do that).
2. How do I get onto the roof so I can get into Seever's room? I can't find a ladder or stairs that will let me get onto the roof(Ignore this last question. Puzzle solved).
Link RemovedWIP 128x 64x, SEUS support, Mod support in the pipeline TEKKIT, FTB, the more support the more mods!
There are no rules concerning weapons haha. Bows and swords are fair game. Wherever you see one, you can take it!

I have grown to love this map more then I have with any minecraft map! When playing Into the Depths I feel reminded of long nights as a child, all the lights off, laying in my bed with the controller in my hands and the blanket pulled up to my chin, ready to cover my face at a moments notice! This game doesn't rely on jump scares but rather the horror of finding out that there is something wrong in the area you are in and all it can do is get worse! Finding various journals scattered around the world not only inform you of the back story and what is going on, but also give you a chance to see it thru a different characters eyes, and makes you ask yourself if they knew the danger they were in. To long has it been since a map could scare you not with random noises, or tons of mobs that would be practically impossible to take on without full diamond equipment, but rather scare you with the mystery of what will happen next? Hats off to you ss3094 for recreating the memories of the great games of the past!
Thank you for the kind words man! I'm glad that I was able to deliver on my goals with the map!
