In Shattered, the ability to break blocks by punching them is turned off,
but players can break the glass blocks that make up the course by
shooting them with arrows. This can be used to puncture barriers, cut
off routes of attack, and spleef opponents into the void. Over each
match, the course will become progressively more destroyed.
Some blocks take more than one shot to break, and will indicate the damage
they’ve taken by changing color. For example, a black glass block will
first turn dark grey, then grey, then white, then clear before the next
shot breaks it. And some blocks, like quartz blocks and sea lanterns,
are unbreakable. There will always be at least one unbreakable path
between the opposing teams’ cores to prevent stalemates.
Features
- Destructable glass
- Map resets after each game
- 5 different Special Bows ( for extra destruction ).
- 4 Game modes ( Shattered, Fruit Buster, Raiders, and DeathMatch ).
- Lots of Game options configurable in lobby.
- 7 levels to choose from.
Review Summary
Bow PvP map in which your arrows can weaken and destroy glass (and fruit)! Spectacular mechanics with multiple modes (classic pvp, fruit buster, base assaults, etc...), multiple map configurations, power ups, and everything is customizable. Visuals and Special Effects are top notch - consistent from the logo to the lobby to the levels themselves. Level design makes great use of horizontal and vertical pathing and barriers. Scales well to solo and team play. Wide variety of Challenges in the varied objectives. Pacing feels balanced with some randomization, round length is customizable (presets felt good). Overall, this was my best PvP experience to date. Easy to learn, promotes strategy and lots of room to expand and refine my tactics. I'm strongly considering this map for a perfect 20 score, with consideration being given that I haven't played quite enough PvP to confirm where this one lines up in terms of being exceptionally more challenging. I'll be consulting a few 'experts', but in the mean time an 18/20 is amazing and well deserved.
Total Rating: 18/20* potential 20/20 under consideration
