Tried it on 1.8.3, exact same crash. I replicated it, and here's the crash report:

Had a problem with spawning... I died due to something with a gun... (Skeleton?) I spawned very far away... Using a modification after this happened it said I was 2,100 blocks away from the ship... Any help I can receive?
Welp. I beat the hardcore version already. Still have five achievements left though. for the crafting module achievement do I have to craft 200 things or open the module 200 times?
Hello! I love this map i think its great. I just have one problem with this map. when I play it I get
some very bad lag. I want to know if there is a fix for this. I have tried raising my ram but it does nothing.
First, why no shovel? I can imagine it is to speed up Dehydration on the players character, making them punch all that dust, but after making torch's. I just used that trick to collect all the dust I needed!
I agree - a shovel would have greatly sped up Zinc accumulation.
Third. I didn't mix all the drinks outside of the quest drinks, it seemed like no matter the drink, water or lemon grass tea, you only really got 10 Hydration from them, so no need to waste resources getting the other drinks and so I just stuck with water. Would be good if other drinks gave you better of worst hydration.
I don't get why you can make poison and harming potions that aren't throwable. (The might have a use I just haven't gotten to yet?)
Forth, not sure if it is a limit on the crafting method, but having to make 64 of the same item one at a time was a bit of a chore. It would have been nice to add all the items onto the crafting map and get a multiple return a once.
Agree, but I doubt this is easily fixable, given how the commands work. Also, I've lost important ingredients on accident if I left them in one of the unused squares while putting the 'right' materials in the proper places.

If you have enough melons, it's more efficient to sprint/jump and then eat a melon as soon as you lose half a hunger, to keep your hydration up. If you just sprint (without jumping) your hydration will go down faster than your actual hunger.

Just make them in your Inventory's 2x2 crafting area...

If a skeleton drops a bow, you can combine the two in your Inventory 2x2 and repair - but it will lose any enchants.
