DESCRIPTION:
Return to the world of Diversity - an epic multi-genre challenge map for single or multiplayer! PC Gamer's #2 Minecraft Map of all time has spawned a sequel. With over 1 million downloads, Diversity 2 has quickly become Curse.com's #1 most downloaded map, overcoming the original Diversity map. Diversity 2 is a unique form of map. Similar to the CTM style, you are tasked to complete a monument. However, in the Diversity series, the monument blocks are obtained from completing different genre-specific levels.
This time, a team of builders were enlisted and the end product is really quite special. We hope you enjoy the map. Diversity 2 also proudly features custom skins from over 650 members of the Minecraft community!
We'd like to thank the community for the massive reception! In 2016, Diversity 2 achieved a Guinness World Record for being the most downloaded Minecraft project.
THE RULE:
Don't type commands.
Diversity 2 is a very complex map that works only if the map is unaltered from the command blocks placed.
Do not change your gamemode, unless absolutely necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minecraft 1.8.8
- Minimum 9 chunks Render Distance
- Vanilla Server (Multiplayer)
- Adjust server.properties (see below)
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- Default Texture/Resource Pack
- Brightness: Full/Bright
- Clouds: Off
- Particles: All
- 1-3 players
- Render Distance: 10-16 Chunks
- 4GB RAM or higher allocated to Minecraft
- 64-bit Java
SERVER:
For Multiplayer, you MUST have command blocks enabled.
In your server.properties file, make sure you have this:
enable-command-block=true
allow-nether=true
allow-flight=true
max-build-height=256
spawn-npcs=true
spawn-animals=true
spawn-monsters=true
We recommend you keep the game to 2 players, but 3 could work.
This map is NOT compatible with Bukkit. Our apologies.
HELP:
I can't find the last Mirror Switch in the Adventure Branch
- 4 in the 4 towers, obviously.
- 1 in the greenhouse, maybe check out those buttons?
- 1 in the kitchen. Did it say something about cooking food?
- 1 in the theatre. Those movie posters sure look creepy...
- 1 in the bedroom behind the 4th tower.
The final drop is bugged. I manage to hit the button, but I never get the wool!
STOP trying to hit that button by falling! Read the Dropper Tips book. That's why you have it.
I can't figure out this puzzle
Don't be afraid to use the hint book. Trust me. You have more than enough hints, even if you don't think you do.1. Lights and Toggle
Hint #1
You need to the turn all the lights off.
Hint #2
When you step on a pressure plate, the lights above reverse from what they were.
Hint #3
You need to make the room entirely dark. Stand on the various pressure plates in the corners first aligning the lights up with the ones outside the puzzle area. The Toggle will send you in a location where you can see the puzzle without the pillars in the way.
Answer
Again, the lights need to all be off. If you cant get it, sign the hint book a few times, until the Branch gives you just one plate to step on. Step on that plate, and you can move on.
2. Jigsaw Puzzle
Hint #1
Pillared Quartz is the outside of the picture.
Hint #2
Signs go on the bottom. Torches on the top.
Hint #3
The picture is of a Minecraft mob.
Answer
You are trying to make a sheep. If you cant get it, sign the hint book a few times. The Branch will move you to the next puzzle automatically.
3. Five Sheep Logic Puzzle
Hint #1
We highly recommend you use the grid with the true and false markers. Mark the area (including the sheep's face) with true or false based on what the book says.
Hint #2
Once you have all the book info laid out, you can start to deduce which sheep belongs where.
Hint #3
After you have the answers, you need to spawn a sheep, then dye it, then lead it to its home.
Answer
If you still are having trouble, use enough hints and the Branch will give you the answers.
4. Jukebox Pathway Puzzle
Hint #1
The discs create different pathways. Depending on which disc you insert, a different direction can be achieved.
Hint #2
Notice the title of the discs. They have arrows. The arrows point to available directions from jukebox to jukebox. You cannot access areas outside the map, or the dark shaded areas. If a disc loses its name, you can reset the puzzle and get the discs again.
Hint #3
Keep your eye on the last move and save the correct disc for that, since you need to get into the red area. Try working from the end backwards, or writing down your pathway before going through.
Answer
If you still can't get it, use enough hints and the Branch will show you the exact pathway on your map.
5. Zombies and Villagers
Hint #1
You need to get all the Zombies and all the Villagers to the other side to proceed.
Hint #2
At no point can the Zombies outnumber the Villagers. You can only send one or two mobs over at one time and each side has to take a turn.
Hint #3
Start off by sending two Zombies over, then send one back. Then you can start to work out a plan so you don't leave the Villagers outnumbered.
Answer
If you still can't solve it, use enough hints and the Branch will let you finish off the puzzle easily.
6. Portal
Hint #1
This puzzle is pretty straightforward mechanic-wise. Step in an orange portal, appear where the blue portal is.
Hint #2
Portals will only appear on light surfaces. If you land on red sand you will die.
Hint #3
Once you get to the final part, there are 3 yellow stained glass block you need to remove by levers to gain the wool.
For the lever that is behind a stained glass wall with the center block open:
It's a trick shot. Portal up to the top of the giant cube, and fire into the middle. Yes, the shot can be made, but it's tricky.
For the area where there are platform with no way to see the top:
You need to arc your shot with low power, so that the arrow lobs on to the top of the platforms.
For the area where there tall rooms:
You need shoot at the ceiling and floor, then hit the spot as you're falling. Keep in mind, you face the same way the Portal Sheep is when you teleport. So you may need to adjust how you move when falling

I can't figure out how to beat the Boss
The boss is tough. It has 3 stages, along with a handful of attacks.
Step #1
Get a bow and an arrow. You can grab one when the platforms start crumbling.
Step #2
Get the enchanted book that appears when the platforms start crumbling.
Step #3
Drop the book on the platforms. The enchantment room will appear where you can put your bow in the chest and have a much better weapon.
Step #4
Notice when the Wither opens its eyes and mouth, there are buttons. Shooting the buttons causes the left or right skull to stay open for a while.
Step #5
Move far away from the attack when the Wither shoots its left or right face at the platforms. This will expose a Wither Skeleton which you may start firing at with your enchanted bow.
Step #6
Once both Wither Skeletons are killed, the middle head will start firing fireballs at you. You simply need to deflect the fireball back to the Wither's body.
Q: May I port this to Minecraft:PE, PS3, XBOX, etc?
A: No. Non-PC/MAC versions cannot handle the complexity of the commands used in the map and would degrade the experience we have worked hard to achieve if the map was altered. Any further work done by someone outside the Build Team breaks copyright law and is not allowed.
Q: May I host Diversity 2 on my server?
A: Obviously, private servers to play the map are encouraged, but you may not host Diversity 2 on a public server as an addition to a your mini-games.
Q: May I translate Diversity 2 into a foreign language for others who don't speak English?
A: No. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a pure translation and in turn, the map may have incorrect information.
Q: May I post Diversity 2 on my Minecraft website for people to download?
A: Yes you may, provided that any download links listed point back to this forum post. It is too dificult to manage updates in multple locations. All links MUST send users to the Minecraft Forums (Curse). Any outside sources who have otherwise, have done so against our explicit permission.
Oh gosh oh gosh eeeeeeexcited!!! 5 days gimme gimme gimme!!! Ahhhh I need this in my life. The first was the most fun I had playing co-op with a friend. I can here the rage fits and blame fights coming already woooooo!!! xD
