For the dirt, you can also use the CanBreak NBT tag with the shovel. Just set it to only break gravel, and it won't be able to break dirt in adventure mode. You may have to update the map first to 1.8, but I guess it may be overdue.
So first off, excellent map so far! (I haven't finished it yet, but will be right back on it!) I found the intro really interesting! However, if you are planning to update this map to 1.8, I would highly recommend fixing the reset button for the coal puzzle to rebuild the piston that the coal block replaces if you spam the button too much. Either that or use the /fill replace command instead of /setblock so that it would only create a coal block if that particular space is empty. Good job!
So you'll be able to control the direction a setblock piston faces? I wanted to find a way to have the reset button do that, but the piston always faced upwards. This new update is going to be very helpful!

You can control the direction a setblock piston faces, yes, and I believe you are able to do it in 1.7.x as well. You just do /setblock x y z piston <number>
for <number> you either put 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
0 - down
1 - up
2 - north / negative z (forward facing north)
3 - south / positive z (backwards facing north)
4 - west / negative x (left facing north)
5 - east / positive x (right facing north)
6 or higher - you'll get an error
The cheat sheet looks a little glitchy. I'll show you what I mean:
See the text going off the page?
And yeah, I tried it on all the GUI Scales.
EDIT: When you request service, how does the secretary automatically know that you need your laptop fixed? You should probably add Ji saying something right before that. I guess he could've called in beforehand, but I didn't get the feeling that he did.
EDIT2: I know I'm being nitpicky, but eh, the closer the map is to perfection the better :D. Anyways, some of the elevators teleport you a couple blocks away from the elevator itself so it feels kinda weird because I'm staring at the elevator when I get off it. It'd be cool if you could even tp the player into the elevator and have it open so he can actually walk out.
EDIT3: I noticed the intercom said "I won't be able to reach you from this point. Good luck!" before you stepped onto the pressure plate, and noticed that you were still using a hopper clock + testfor command to give that message. Why? It seems like it would be simpler to connect it to the pressure plate. Also, looking into the wiring a bit, what's all this testing for gravel at -222 4 -777?
EDIT4: This is bit more major than the other things imo, I think you should make some more space in the password place so I can actually see some more of the letters at once. If this is supposed to be part of the challenge, then never mind of course. It's just kinda annoying/hard. Also, the password room in general is just really hard for me. I tried it like 5 times, with the correct password and it always told me it was wrong once I got to "Gog", until it stopped doing anything completely.
EDIT5: Pretty major: in the cheatsheet for the production room, the second instruction says "Iron ore as far as possible." which I'm pretty sure is incorrect, it should be "Iron ore until the power cube is under the lapis".
EDIT6: Another fairly major one, although the dirt under the doors is gone, you can still tunnel out of the detention room with the shovel, or cheat by finding the hopper that has the comparator that teleports you to the next location attached, and add something (like, say, a few arrows) to the hopper and voila, the system thinks you put the key in.
It seems you have discovered my dark secret. You see, when -222 4 -777 is a gravel block, the entire map's redstone gets reset. Well, it used to, but I've since disabled all (most?) of them. I've kept a few testfor player detectors in places that seemed too much work to rearrange, but I'll change that one.
Yes, the password puzzle is my own makeshift design using minecarts. I'd imagine it'd be somewhat buggy I tried researching other designs, but I needed one that accounted for letter order.
Also, I think the book looks weird because I had "force IPA" on when writing. I'll have to use some program to fix them.
This was an extremely well done map! There were a few bits I struggled with and/or broke so I had to cheat. The story was very Portal like haha but that's the kind of stories I like. 9/10
nasallyone, I notice you play and comment (constructively) on a lot of maps.
I just wanted to give you a little shout out for that! It's one of the best ways for map makers to improve, through seeing what others have done right and wrong

Also, good news! New version with many fixes!
- Added real secretary
- Replaced many player detectors with pressure plates
- Added a cheat sheet!
- (Hopefully) fixed recurring dialogue glitch.
Remember to please report bugs you might find

North: (-Z)
South: (+Z)
East: (+X)
West: (-X)
I still haven't been able to find the dungeon key. Any hints?

edit: 5 minutes late
Onuku, what do you mean by dungeon key? You mean the detention center key? Here, I'll post a quick guide on the office stage.
Get 2B key in storage room
Find kitchen key under carpet in office 2B
Find workout room key in kitchen microwave
Retrieve bow, break windows of office 2C. Shoot button
Retrieve shovel. Dig up office 2A's plant. Retrieve Detention center key
Return to Detention center via office elevator. Dig up gravel by water pipe. Insert key into hopper.
I didn't think to use the shovel down there. Thanks.

- Fixed cheat sheet formatting, changed ore puzzle solution
- Added nicer looking elevator teleportations (the doors open when you get there)
- Fixed a lone spelling error
- Removed a few more hopper clocks (before piston puzzle, before finale, before Production, etc.)
- Replaced floor under Detention Center gravel with stone
