Ever played minecraft, and wished it had a goal? An objective to complete? Do you enjoy playing survival, but do you get bored quick? Then this is the map for you. Laingral, a CTM map, adds a goal and challenge to survival minecraft by providing you with a lot of different areas to explore. Final goal is to find and complete the Laingral (monument)
This map should provide a nice, but difficult introduction to the CTM genre for newer players. If you're really uncomfortable with custom maps, or are still pretty new to minecraft, I reccomend easy. The limited resources should make this map a less overwhelming experience to new players.
For veteran CTM players this map should also be a nice and difficult experience. If you are a total l33t pr0, I would recommend hard, but the map should be difficult enough playing on normal.
Standard CTM rules:
1. Find and complete the monument. 2. Use wools found in fleecy boxes for the monument. 3. Play on easy, normal or hard. (Map is balanced around normal) 4. You can place, break or craft all you want. 5. Survive in any way you can think of. 6. You can craft the metal blocks for the monument. 7. Do not move, pickup or craft ender chests.
I'm Rubisk, minecraft fanboy and player for a few years. I've been mapping for close to two years, and this is the first map I released. You can check me out on twitter (@Rubisks) for more updates on mapping stuff. If you want to contact me personally, the forums are probably your best bet.

Even though we've been talking through messages, I also wanted to say it here as well.
Congratulations on the official release! Even before having the few kinks ironed out that I found while testing it, it was still an amazingly fun map. I'm sure everyone is going to enjoy it.
Aww man why. There really aren't any clocks or something. If you can play vanilla, you should be able to play this map too. Are your graphics on fast?
Also, wow. I never actually expected more then ~20 people from the community thread to play this. I'm past that already...
Yeah, other than a few pretty large areas there wasn't anything that dropped my frames much when I was testing.. and while my computer isn't awful I'm definitely not running anything top of the line either.
Rubisk, great map so far! Everything I've seen looks fantastic, and I'm loving all of the nifty traps/loot you've got hidden all over the place. Overall, great job so far!
Also,
Was the first wool (on top of the ruins in Grail Valley) intended to be black? I was sorta confused when I found it.

Also yups.
There had to be some reference to the old vaks right?
Just wait, you haven't seen anything yet. The first intersection is literally a cake walk to what you'll have to do later. <3
While it was intimidating, it honestly wasn't that difficult. Through strategic tree and building hopping (with a bit of frantic running mixed in) I got out without dying.

Weeeell, I don't want to spoil anything.. but what I was getting at is that the first few areas are kind of.. misleading..
It has a less than gradual difficulty curve after the first intersection. Rubisk sees to it that you make up those deaths fairly soon.

Assuming this is meant to be played in 1.8, you should probably specify that in the OP.

Unfortunately, my computer isn't very good, so I couldn't even play past the first area on minimum settings. Sorry about that.
Good luck.

Congrats on surpassing your expectations though!
I still cannot find how to get to intersection 4
Look at all the free XP right their at the ground. Don't you like so much XP packages?
Yup. That was exactly what I wanted to happen if you'd take to long. Yup.
