I'm sorry you didn't like our *FREE* projects. If you want things built to your specifications maybe you should consider building them yourself, or hiring people to make them for you.
With the new packed ice, one could simply replace all the normal ice with packed ice and it would resolve the issue without the need for worldguard.
Just a thought though.
Except this would require creating a special texture pack just for that build to move the coloured ice from the normal ice to the packed ice. But if we do that we may as well get some better shades colour on the ice in there. And if we do that we should re-texture the castle to make better use of these nicer shades of blue. And if we do that...

I see that these mostly require worldguard to play. I saw the bits about exploring and eastereggs, and also that some are integrated into the surrounding terrain, but I don't fully understand worldguard, so maybe this is a wrong question:
Are any of these viable survival mode adventuring/exploring maps? I'd love to explore some dangerous caves and abandoned cities.
Those builds are absolutely stunning. I have already downloaded 2 and I couldn't love it more, I even made a screenshot of 1 and put it as my desktop background. I am impressed with every single architect that built one of those.
The enormous hub of Deep Space, operating as the center of all points of space-travel, this station is equipped with rails that will take you all over the galaxy. While you’re not traveling, why not take a tour of the full interiors of Celtel? You never know what you may find.

What exactly is the point of that? Why would you do a half job and then start a new thing?
These projects were all created over almost three years. We are not building something new each day, rather we're opening the vault of awesome builds for the community to enjoy! We are too busy to finish these builds, so that's why they are released as is.

*I* wouldn't do half a job, that's not how I work, but the builds were done as a community, and you can't tell the community to just work on one thing if it's not a work environment Everyone builds at different speeds and sometimes would go awol for months, and then rejoin to work on their project, and that's simply how things were. We just decided that at this point, the map wasn't going to be used anymore - and to just release whatever we had so we could start fresh.
The Atlantis Resort is on a tropical island called Paradise Island, completely owned by the one resort, and they have built it up to fit with it's name. Based on the real life resort in the Bahamas, the island features gigantic waterpark, a fantastic marina with all kinds of yachts docked in it, a huge hotel, pools everywhere, and an overall atmosphere of paradise.

Had a thought while looking through. Could throw the schematic at least through MCEdit and replace the ice with the unmelting one, which I believe is metadata :1 on the ice block; it uses the same texture as normal ice. If that doesn't exist, then I'm remembering something from some mod somewhere and not realizing it

We're not crazy people that can produce massive maps like Tanviir in one day. Some of us may be quick, but we're not that quick. Like johnsmom said, all of these projects have been made over the past three years. Some projects were finished, other projects were abandoned, and some - like Ciscago, something Kura and I worked on for about a year - were not yet finished before the server overhaul.

What's the actual command for that? I couldn't find it on the wiki. "randomTickSpeed" seemed similar, but it's only available in the 1.8 snapshots.
