i just beat this and? wow you did a really really super good job on this!! i mean there are a few things i didn't like that much in it (the fact that you could get the same infinity crystal multiple times, the lack of rooms- personally, if you ever expand on this, i'd like to make it so that there's more rooms, but you do something with red-stone that prevents the same infinity crystal from popping up more than once, to balance things out- and i would have liked for it to have more loot) but?? those are all honestly really nit-picky, this is a really really good map, especially since you made it in about three days!! like?? wow how'd you manage to make this so quickly- great job, jig!
Thanks for your feedback! As xCopyrgith mentioned, there are things you can do with duplicate crystals like trade them for end-game enchantments for your equipment or even trade 2 of one color for another colour, but yeah i think if it had some logic to tell which infinity rooms have been spawned it would probably be better but I didn't want to create exceptions. As for different types of rooms, I juggled a bunch of different extra rooms but I found if I added more rooms than the 18 that are there, they would get less altars and even in some situations (if unlucky) not get an altar at all, so it was a balancing act to keep the room number low enough but keep it high enough to have enough variety. And that's why I added the different loot in chests and different mobs because even if you find the same room 2, 3 even 4 times in a row, chances are each room will contain something different.
Anyway the feedback is appreciated. After watching some lp's I think I only really need to randomise the few chests left that aren't randomised. I'm not seeing too much negative feedback, just more item variety from the chests which I can absolutley do.
Downloaded it Yesterday
it's not bad ... maybe i just got lucky with the dungeons, but in the first generation i found every color except black, second generation i found black and had the map done in about 30 mins
but what really annoyed me was "Amy" that sucker followed me all around the place and killed me twice
luckily i was able to get back all my items both times (didn't seem as i could kill her!?)
but non the less, the map and especially the idea is great, but you have to do it so that not so many of the parts with "Infinity Cores" spawn with each generation (i had about 10 in the first one, all of them next to each other)
keep up the good work !!!
will play the map with a friend on our server, maybe we will make a video, but it will be in german xD
You got very lucky with altars. I've had a run that had every colour in the first generation, and another run with 0 colours. Amy is a meany that's for sure, not sure how she jumped out of her tower though. I would love to see a lp though, my german is limited I still enjoy watching and listening to the reactions.
I'm going to put this in a spoiler, since you have to find it by playing the game:
These are secret codes for your magic book and quill.
Codes so far:
Help(Brings you to spawn)
Restricted(Brings you to a "Restricted Access Room")
Perish(Brings you to a room with chain armor and a note)
rsmalec(An easteregg, referencing someone who helped make and lets play the map.)
Jigarbov(An easteregg, referencing the map maker.)
Texelelf(An easteregg, sends you to a height where you cant see the rest of the map(Presumably 256) then drops you and you go splat.)
Jarig(Brings you to an area that spawns pigs, you get a sword that does no damage but gives you 2 more hearts and another thing hidden)
If you find one, it will say on a sign: Secret Code: [Insert Code Here].Feel free to add on more IN A SPOILER to make sure people don't find it unless they want to get spoiled
Amazing, but I only have one problem and that is frame rate. Do you have most of the clocks where the world spawn is? Because 'm sure you know, but that help increase frame rate especially if you have a bunch of clocks. Also their is a redstone clock out there that is "lagless" but the only problem is that you cannot expand it past 15 redstone wires so you would have to repeat the clock, but it really is "lagless" because it doesn't cause the redstone wire to update the block, but command blocks would still run off it.
I have one single hopper clock under the center of the world. The redstone doesn't travel to the edge of the chunk so it only updates that single chunk. There are no other clocks in the entire map.
If you CAN. I had everything but ORANGE, 3 green, 1 blue and 1 red.No villagers.I went in creative and looked. No villagers
They spawn on the white towers randomly, you have to press the pressure plate for the mob on the tower to spawn. Incidentally, if you found "The Other Juggler" you could have traded 2 greens for a red, then your 2 reds for an orange

I know. I'll probably just reset the dungeon to find the last piece.
I'm totally cheating the system with how I preserve my items between rounds. Jig already knows it, but let's just say I have infinite storage.
Anyway, posting cause I found a bug, if a minor one. Leaving the game (say, to go do something else for awhile) then reentering results in a fresh load of the 'startup equipment'. This can be abused to get infinite bread/swords/armor.

That's weird, I never noticed/experienced that before. Will have to investigate, thanks for letting me know.
I've played this map today, got it all in one generation. Lucky me! My twin brother, however, has been playing for multiple hours to no avail.
Question: What exactly does "hard mode" change for this map?

Hard mode turns random mobs on, changes difficulty to normal and turns on the day/night cycle. It's hard.
This map is loads of fun! I hope it has updates and cool stuff in the future!
I do plan on adding a few things from the latest snapshot actually, and maybe some particle effects. The map will probably be continually updated until 1.8 actually comes out.
One problem that your map unfortunately suffers is a bug due to performing /clear on a players inventory constantly.
I have submitted a ticket to Mojang about this - but it is presently unseen by them I am hoping that you could (if you have an account on the bug reports forum) upvote the issue so it can hopefully get fixed in 1.8! https://bugs.mojang....browse/MC-45152
Thanks for reporting the bug. I always thought it had something to do with tile tick lag (there are a lot of command blocks in the map) but your video seems to prove otherwise. Nice find and hopefully they can rectify the issue before 1.8 goes live.
Just updated to require the latest snapshot 14w05a. It is more stable than ever, barrier blocks help prevent you getting blasted out of the environment. A couple extra puzzles and some chests that weren't randomised before are now randomised with 2 new custom loot sets. Soggy shovel frequency was nerfed.
I was pretty reliably able to get new frozen shovels every few rounds, but I guess a few soggy shovels at the start would help avoid that at any rate. Did you fix the Jarig exploit, or is that still a thing nobody takes advantage of so there's no point fixing it?

It isn't just Jarig that can be exploited but any of those and I probably wont change them. Also yes, less soggy shovels will help mitigate getting the other items faster too. Don't forget that chest is also locked so it's harder to get than normal.
i dont understand how i get the map is ti a certain seed is it like named a certain thing im confused it looks really fun and i want to play like today so plz respond as soon as you can please thx!!

I do maps and stuff.

Hope my video helps bring it to more people.
