The Infinity Dungeon is a randomly generated dungeon crawler made for single or multiplayer. Every spawner, every room and a lot of chests are randomly selected and placed into the world for you to explore and conquer. There is a sort of overarching story and a secret ending! But don't tell anyone about that...
If playing on SMP ensure enable-command-block is set to true in the server.properties file! If for some reason you didn’t spawn in the correct beginning, the coordinates are: 1671 108 1320 Thanks for playing!
Get it while it’s confusing!
last update included barrier blocks to help prevent you getting blasted out of the map and 2 full new sets of custom equipment and some other random goodies. Nerfed frequency of soggy shovels.
Creation was assisted by rsmalec, Whitherunn and built using custom filters by @Texelelf.
Review Summary
An infinitely random dungeon crawler, in which your goal is to recover 5 lost crystals. Each room is randomized; including the layout, mobs, and rewards. The rooms create a dynamic maze and offer a variety of challenges; parkour, combat, logic puzzles. Even as a beta, the mechanics of the map itself are excellent and Jigarbov provided a clever 'magic book' that can assist in navigating the maze. I found it to be thoroughly enjoyable as I had to contend with the each room's puzzle, plotting out a course to the crystal altars, juggling my inventory (which gets cleared when you run the infinity engine to refresh the random layout), and Jigarbov's unique wit. The detail is rich - it's quite amazing how much flavor you can fit into these small spaces, and I love the way that exits are blocked based on random rotations, and even peeking out through cracks between the rooms is intentionally non-flat-world! I can definitely see this map becoming a multiplayer race competition.
Are the command blocks set up with relative coordinates, or does the dungeon have to be in that exact spot?
EDIT: Should clarify: If I were trying to expand the size of the map for fun.
If you were to copy and paste the command block structure that is under each plot (a plot is 16x16) and move it somewhere else, then power it, it will randomly select a plot above it. So you could in theory copy and paste the command block structure under a single plot and place it all around the map to add another layer, but you need to power each plot at least once for it to create a plot.
I was totally expecting the Infinity Core to be a boss.
Sorry to dissappoint, I don't have a lot of time right now and this was a short side project. That said, I don't know how well a boss would be for this sort of map since it's based on randomness, the boss would have to be random too which might not be too fun to create xD

Wow, I did not expect a 20/20 for this map. Thanks so much for your feedback and I am enjoying and looking forward to the rest of your LP.
This looks awesome, I love it.
Nice job on this, bookmarked for future too
I think once 1.8 comes out it will be a lot more stable and functional... who knows I might even add a few extra things and some optimisations between now and then too. The new particle system looks fancy.
Since this is in Beta, is there any new features or changes that are planned in the future? Or will that wait until you have enough feedback?
Nothing really planned at this stage, It's only really Beta because it requires the snapshot to run so a few features might change/not work/be added in the future. I am keeping an eye on the new features though and if something needs to be added I certainly will add it. I am also very open to feedback about balance and how easy/hard it is or if any items you think may be missing. Thanks for your interest.
Really great dungeon crawler kind off map but would be cooler with more variations of mobs and rooms and if maybe custom weapons with lore or random rooms that have like a mini-boss ,got this idea from an android game called pixel dungeon(Dont mean to advertise) and i see it similar in many aspects

Thanks for the feedback. The good thing about this system is you can add as many rooms as you like very easily. The white tower is intended as a sort of "boss" room with the different mobs that spawn on top with you. There is a couple of custom loot sets but it could certainly do with a few more too. The problem with adding more rooms is that as I add more rooms, the less likely it is that the altar room with the infinity crystals will spawn, right now i think it has a good balance but I will be considering it.
Sorry it took so long to get this up (saw the post when it was created and instantly wanted to play it), but had to get some people to join in for recording! If you would like, you can see it here:
The one who introduced me to Minecraft custom maps is the one who brought me back to it once again (only temporarily, but still, that's pretty amazing)

i just beat this and? wow you did a really really super good job on this!! i mean there are a few things i didn't like that much in it (the fact that you could get the same infinity crystal multiple times, the lack of rooms- personally, if you ever expand on this, i'd like to make it so that there's more rooms, but you do something with red-stone that prevents the same infinity crystal from popping up more than once, to balance things out- and i would have liked for it to have more loot) but?? those are all honestly really nit-picky, this is a really really good map, especially since you made it in about three days!! like?? wow how'd you manage to make this so quickly- great job, jig!

This is a Jigarbov Production.

yay!
Let me know how it compares to regular dungeon crawlers! Would be interested in hearing your feedback.

yay lps! Thanks, they were both very enjoyable to watch.
Actually, if you find a villager in one of the rooms, you can trade some of the colors for other colors.
