Your map is next on my review list(how do you determine when slendy catches you(I didn't find him at all, but I apparently was teleported, so I could just see him, then the map reset)).
Your map is next on my review list(how do you determine when slendy catches you(I didn't find him at all, but I apparently was teleported, so I could just see him, then the map reset)).
Gameplay- 4
The gameplay on this was just amazing. The fact that it just suddenly teleports you adds tons of suspense, and a bonus jumpscare! I can't imagine how this was physically possible. I am starting to wonder if the community deserves a map this good. The only problem is the glitches. Oh, the glitches. I didn't see slendy at all except for when I was teleported because I lost, and the flashlight didn't show up in my inventory sometimes. I am not going to deduct anything for right now(as this is more of a mechanism problem).
Details- 2
The minigame itself was amazing, but the details weren't as good. For example, that bedrock barrier around the map ruins the whole experience(and you added a custom resource pack, so there isn't any real excuse for not making the bedrock look like something different). Also, I found a painting that I walked through, and I fell in some cobwebs. That lasted for about 10 minutes(lag), and then slendy caught me somehow. The map itself needs better design, but I do admit, you did an excellent job on the inside(just that bedrock killed the experience, so if you can just do that differently, then you would have a much higher score).
Concept- 3
I do admit that the whole "slender's woods" concept is way overused, and the fact that you used slender as the thing hunting you down doesn't help. But you carried it out in a way I have never seen before, and let me just say, dang dis method is awesome. I think that this concept is overused, but you put a VERY unique twist on it, so that adds a lot of originality. I personally think that this beats the last slender's woods style map I did by a longshot, just for how creative the system is.
Difficulty- 2.5
This was hard. Really hard. I do admit, the fact that no mobs are hunting you down does make it a bit easier, but instead, you have something completely different(a timer style setup). This was so difficult, my best score was 2 pages(and that was because the game lagged on a page and duplicated it). You do need to tone down the difficulty a lot, but it was still better than most of these style maps I have played(come to think of it, I think that this is the best one I have played).
Mechanics- 3.5
The mechanics in here were just plain awesome. I don't understand how this is possible, but it was the best mechanism in any map of this genre I have ever played. The timer-based system, the command block flashlight, and this thing can even reset itself! I don't think that I can think of anything to improve on here, except for the glitches I stated in the gameplay section(the invisible slender glitch wasn't very big at all, and the flashlight glitch I can just cheat in an empty map to fix).
Overall score- 4+2+3+2.5+3.5=15=Excellent
This was just amazing. There were some design problems(just the map, not the mechanics), and the flashlight was a little glitchy, but overall, I know this got a lower score than the last slender style map, but I actually liked this one more. Diamonds to you, man.
EDIT: Requested second review coming! Expect it tomorrow(if not today).
Gameplay- 4
I had a blast playing this. I just love all of the features put into this. I can tell you weren’t happy with just a small job. The game itself was just great. I love the static at the end, and how the whole game works. Overall, great job.
Detail- 3
The builds were very cool for their size. I just love how the builds are made in here. Very nice details, effects, and overall just the map itself. The only thing I would change is possible to change some block textures, just to add some detail(same thing I normally get on everyone on, just a bit too simple). The simplicity of it is really the only thing marking you down here.
Concept- 3
I know I said this before, but the concept is just amazing. The slender’s woods concept has already been done before, and I did have to mark you down a bit for that, but I did find a lot of creativity in just how you did it. The whole concept behind it is just epic, and it isn’t something I have ever seen before.
Difficulty- 3.5
You just rocked the difficulty on here. It was perfectly well-balanced. The majority is very simple once you know how it is done. I just wish that the battery on the flashlight would stay longer(it went out on just page 2), and that is the only reason I marked you down a little here, but the “eerie glow” that randomly goes off makes up for it, so it wasn’t that bad.
Mechanics- 4
The mechanics were just plain awesome. The area detector, the resource pack, and the fact that it can reset itself all just help. No glitches what so ever. I don’t think that you can improve on this part any more than what you already have.
Overall score- 4+3+3+3.5+4=17.5=Fantastic
Very nice map, epic effects, and very good detail too. Definitely worth the download. Diamonds to you, man.
