Actually, yes. I've had some health-related issues to take care of, as well as some other stuff. I'm pretty much done with that now, so dev. update will be soon (I'm thinking about possibly making a weird mid-week one)
Glad to know you got well Keep up the good work!
And re dev. updates, an 'anytime'-week update is always fine
Well, after almost a month of me being semi-silent, here we go again.
First of all, some SP03 progress. I haven't been able to get very much progress done in the last couple of weeks due to real life, but I did some more refinement in Yellow area and the Monument, to the point when I would consider them almost done. The latter one will have a much more unique look in comparison to the monuments from Overload and Animosity, and actually play an important role in lore (I feel like I'm saying this about pretty much anything SP03-related now :p). Though, with what I have in mind for it, lots of redstone work awaits me, but hopefully it will be worth it in the end.
After I'm content with those two areas, next on my to-do list is another non-wool side area as well as Lime wool, which will be the first void area in the map (don't worry, there won't be a lot of those). I have a general concept of it ready, but some aesthetic stuff is still up in the air (I'm basically thinking about what kind of bigass structure will work best and how much of them should I make). Besides being of the infamous void kind, Lime area will also be a transition between two main "parts" of the map - the first "nature" half and the much more "urban" end. I have to say - I'm really exited to try out some new building styles in the latter one. I've been quite a fan of gothic things, so that's probably going to be what I go with.
Speaking of gothic stuff, as some of you already know, another Strawberry Jam took place this weekend, and I've actually made a map for it this time.(For anyone who doesn't know, Strawberry Jam is an event in which participants have to make a mini-CTM in the span of 72 hours, incorporating some set theme in their maps). How does it relate to gothic architecture? Well, it was sort of a playground for me to get used to this style of building, before getting into some more epic stuff in SP03. I still will have to do a lot of research to get a better grasp on how it works in real life, but I think this is a good start.
Without further ado, here is my post in the Jam thread, if you want to have a look at the screenshots\ download the map in its current state, but I'm not going to add it in the main post just yet, as I want to spend some more time polishing it up and getting it to a more presentable state. After that, I will make a more official release.
So, this was sort of a hectic update, with several tiny themes thrown together. With this, I think we're going to be able to slide back into a weekly dev. update "routine", for the lack of a better word, which I'm very happy about. Also, due to Jam, no screenshots in this post :p.
Nice! I think I'll wait on playing that Jam map until you polish and officially release it, at which point I'll play and write up feedback, as usual. I might even speedrun it, who knows.
Unless you think my feedback will help with the polishing? That might be a good idea. Would you prefer me to go ahead and play now, or wait?
I'm almost done Animosity, but I CANNOT for the life of me find more iron
to make the iron block. I've done a search and can't find anything.
Any help?
Thanks!
It's in plain sight, honestly I'm kinda surprised you missed it.
Unless you used all of it, there's iron ore and iron blocks in Burn and Crawl, right across the lava from the Intersection 3 teleport. If you go to Intersection 3 and teleport to Burn and Crawl, cross the lava and immediately turn left.
If you've somehow used up all the iron in the map (which I very seriously doubt), worst case you can farm zombies. They have a small chance to drop iron.

I found it right after I posted this, thanks haha. It was the one area I forgot to check.
Do you happen to know what the "Who knows for what did I put this here?" sign is for in the Green Wool area? Found a post from Tikaro saying that it's not a troll, and the solution is simple, but I can't find anything.
That, I don't know. I think I remember where that sign is, but I don't know for sure. If I did find it, I probably just ignored it or just didn't think too deeply into it.

Decided to go ahead and tackle Sound of an Old Age, as my feedback may help with the polishing you're planning to do. Completed the map with only 2 deaths. Once you polish it up and release it for real, I may plan a speedrun route. I already have a few ideas.
Big open spawn area, huh? I see, it's for multiplayer spawns. I remember Blizzard had an issue with that, I'm assuming this is to prevent that from happening again. I'm tempted to grab some wood for basic tools and stuff... Yeah I think I'll grab a couple logs so I can make some basic tools if you don't give me any early on.
==THE FURTIVE SWAMP==
It was a dark and stormy night. I found myself outside in the rain. I saw a little house behind me and I entered it. Within was an old sword and some books. Okay I'll stop with the dramatic attempt to start off like a story. I figured you'd give me a sword, but I had logs just in case. One thing, in the Letter, the final sentence says "Try not to fall down some ledge", bit of a grammar mistake there. Should be either be "some ledges" or "a ledge". Same rules and info as always, let's get this show on the road. Ah, hello feesh spawner. Let's make us a pickaxe to take care of you. Good day to you too, skeleton. Okay this soul sand is really irritating me, it's almost as bad as fighting skeletons in water. I see those little cobblestone structures are slabs. I figured they were, just thought I'd check to make sure though. I like the little trail of redstone torches that leads you onward, reminds me of Fatal Graveyard. Whoa, what the-?! How in the world do you trap a coal ore block?! Sheesh! Thanks for almost giving me a heart attack and making my game lag. I see, it was your patented floating-gravel-over-a-pressure-plate trap. Methinks you have a fetish for that, you use it so dang much. You've made me paranoid now. Welp there goes the Old Steel Sword, gonna have to craft me a wooden one. The lack of food is starting to bother me, I'm out of bread and down to rotten flesh. I do have a Golden Apple, but I'd rather save that for when I get into trouble. Hello big staircase. Let's just climb you, and- that's tripwire. Sneaky. Not quite sure if it got me or not, because I already had hunger poisoning from the rotten flesh. Ah, arrows! Perfect! Lemme just craft up a bow real fast... done. Oh, is that all to that area? Seemed a tiny bit sort, but it is a minimap, so I guess I can't complain.
==THE OLD CATHEDRAL (1)==
I'm assuming that big flat stone area is the boundary? Seems a little weird to be so easily accessable. Then again that's probably something you're going to fix with the polishing and all. Ah-ha, food! Glad I went down here and looked. Alright, enough messing around, let's go into ye olde cathedral. Door doesn't open from this side, huh? Welp, that sure lasted long. Hel-lo checkpoint. I thought for a minute going behind the checkpoint wasn't the way to go because I saw the boundary again, but then I saw an actual path. Yay. Wait a minute, it isn't. This is a new area. Dangit Tikaro. Oh, you know what, I just got an idea. If that door doesn't open, I'll just have to bust through it. ...Or not. Tikaro, where am I supposed to go? I suppose I'll go in the back by that other area's sign. This hallway doesn't even go far! TIKAROOOOO! Hey, there's stone bricks down underneath, hmm... Doesn't seem to be going anywhere though. Fine cathedral, I'll ignore you. Obviously you don't want to be entered. Sheesh.
==TOMB OF THE LORD==
Deaths: 1
Charged creepers already? Jeez. Ghasts and withers and cave spiders and blazes, oh my. Seriously, another gravel-under-the-spawner trap? That's starting to get a little old. Okay I really do not like this ladder, there's cave spiders and ghasts and baby zombies and I think I hear withers and oh crud that's a charged creeper, knock it away and- WHAT?! He was NOT close enough to kill me! That is why I hate charged creepers, the game always makes them cheaty. At least the journey back wasn't bad and I recovered most of my good things. Except the bloody Golden Apples, of course. It's always the good stuff that goes into the void. Really wish there was a grave or like a special chest that spawned and stored all your items when you died. Nope charged creeper, you are not even getting close to me this time. Eat arrows, sucker. There's quite a few spawners over there. Blaze, cave spider, wither, and several ghast. Too many ghast, in my opinion. Ruby Heirloom, huh? Kinda surprising that it's not a wool, to be honest. Now what? I don't see any other path onward, there doesn't seem to be any way into the cathedral (other than blindly digging around of course). I guess we go back to the cathedral and look around for another path.
**THE OLD CATHEDRAL (2)**
Well, I made it up to a balcony of some sort and I hear zombies. Dig down, I suppose? Ah-ha, there's the monument. I don't think I was supposed to dig in through the ceiling here, but I see no other path. Let's just take a little look-see around... Ah, there's a staircase down, it seems. Let's go see if we can't open the front door first though. Finally that's open. Now, let's go to that next area.
==TREACHEROUS WAREHOUSE==
Deaths: 1
Holy crap that was a lot of explosions at the entrance. Also some of this TNT randomly explodes. The hell? Oh great, there's monster eggs everywhere too. Okay, creepers are going to make my life miserable here, let's get rid of them ASAP. Haha pressure plate, you didn't get me today. Running back to the monument to drop off some loot and restock on torches, brb. So there's pressure plates and tripwire here that do seemingly absolutely nothing... Are they not supposed to? Seems weird. This seems like the final room here. Don't know for sure, but it just seems like it. There's a blaze spawner there, let's take them out... Oh right, blaze fireballs can ignite TNT and there's TNT all around here. Great. It's also setting the wood on fire. Oh no I fell, I'm so deeeeeead- yup. Thank you, wither skele. Got my stuff back again, luckily there were no edges for stuff to fall off. There's a lot of pressure plates down here though. Fortunately this is the final room, the heirloom is just behind those bars there. At least I was right about that. There's an Old Note here too. "Belfegor keeps the bloodline hidden"? I'm presuming that's a clue to the area I haven't been to yet. There seems to be a passageway opposite the heirloom though, let's see where this leads. Ah, it's a way outside, I see. I wonder how I can get back to the monument from here? Oh hello, last area. I'll come back for you, once I drop off this heirloom and dump inventory.
**THE OLD CATHREDAL (3)**
Before we head off to the final area, I'm gonna explore a bit more. That book I found mentioned Belfegor, and his coffin is in the main hall of the cathedral, so let's see what he's hiding... He was hiding that narrow passageway. If I'd only tried digging up instead of just down, I might've gotten in the cathedral before getting the Ruby Heirloom. Oh well. On to the final area.
==LOWER BLIGHTFLOW VALLEY==
Doesn't seem to be a way down from the sign, but I do see a wooden pathway higher up with a ladder down, so let's go that way. Oh hey, this connects up with the chest I found way earlier, neato. I don't really know how I missed it, but doesn't matter I guess. Doesn't seem like this leads into the area, just a loot thing. Unless I wanted to jump down of course, but I don't think that would be smart. Let's make ourselves a path down that other side. Made it down safely, let's go see what that suspicious-looking thing down there is with the ghast spawner. Oh hello witch. Die. Your wither skeleton friends too, die. Thank you. Now, to find that heirloom... Let's go across these wooden pathways that circle the water, perhaps there will be loot and they will lead me to said heirloom. Another spawner trap? ...It didn't do anything...? Oh well. Ah, there's the heirloom back there. Quite a few witch spawners around though. Fortunately they aren't too difficult, as the environment isn't really dangerous and I have plenty of arrows. Grab that heirloom and let's finish this place up.
**THE OLD CATHEDRAL (4)**
Well that's that. Only 2 deaths, but it is a small map so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. So, final thoughts on this map. For being a rushed map, I think it was pretty good. I'm still not really sure how you expect the player to get into the cathedral. Pretty sure digging in through the ceiling like I did isn't intended, but maybe it is? I don't really know. Other than that, my only complaint is the amount of ghast spawners at the end of Tomb of the Lord.

Hey, thank you! This is very helpful right now, as I'm finishing stuff up in SoaOA (oh man, this is such a sexy acronym). I don't think I'll need your save, the text is more than enough feedback.
Even though that's my little misplay with level design, I find it quite fun that you tackled the areas in order from hardest to easiest. In the area with the cathedral door that doesn't open, there is a path up the hill to the left (if you look back from the door). That would lead you to the "Upper Blightflow Valley", which is not really an area, but just a path into the cathedral and to the start of "Lower Blightflow Valley". You go through that, climb up the tower thing, and go around the roof of the cathedral. The last section of the roof is broken, this is where you would get inside. After that, you can either explore the higher part of the cathedral for a bit of loot, or go down and open the door.
I'm gonna make the proper path to the cathedral more obvious in the release version, I've even though that it could become a problem back when I was building the map.
I'll do some more work and polish stuff up. but I think with what I still want to do, the "release" version should be up either today, or tomorrow.
Got a really good time on a pre-release attempt and couldn't resist uploading it. Besides, the polish shouldn't affect the map too significantly, so the route would likely be more or less the same. Enjoy.
(Apologies for the triple post. People need to post here more often. :P)

Follow your legacy as a beasthunter to the wicked lands, infested with horrible creatures, in search of great treasures: the Heirlooms of a long-lost bloodline. Retrieve them from the depths of the Old Cathedral, but be careful, as it is a dangerous place to explore alone. May you succumb to numerous monsters or explode to pieces due to a slight mistake, surely no living soul will know...

That's some cool digging. I don't think polished version will have a different route, it might even be slightly faster because I've added one stone pick at the start of the tiny graveyard area.

Oh yeah, if you added a stone pick that'll save like ten seconds or more. Saves having to make a wooden pick. But I think I'll let someone else have a go before I try to my beat my record.

What are the changes of updating this version of the map, and I've had and it was to see if it is worth playing again in this version.
There isn't anything that's worth seeing if you've played through the jam version. I'm not gonna make a proper list of changes, but I've basically made it harder to go out of boundaries of the map, shuffled some loot around and placed like 6 trees. Other than that, there was some overall small polishing that's not worth talking about in details.
If it's not working, type in the command "/scoreboard objectives @a Int 2" (without the quotes). You'll probably have to re-type it again if you quit and reload the map, that tends to break it.

Mwahaha. I was able to channel the water from Int.I to the lava in Everlasting Sacrifice. Was tedious but it'll definitely pay off since there's limited Cobble at the start. (You can't see the lava here but it's a cobble-generator). Haven't even started Gelidor Complex or Lushwood Sanctuary yet.
If I'm not mistaken, Lushwood Sanctuary has a good bit of cobble, especially on the edges and at the bottom of it. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
If not, Intersection 2 is literally made of stone, so once you make it there you'll have all the cobble you want/need.
Glad to know you got well
Keep up the good work!
And re dev. updates, an 'anytime'-week update is always fine
Let's do this. Sorta.
SP03 Dev. Update №3 (not so SP03 this time)
Well, after almost a month of me being semi-silent, here we go again.
First of all, some SP03 progress. I haven't been able to get very much progress done in the last couple of weeks due to real life, but I did some more refinement in Yellow area and the Monument, to the point when I would consider them almost done. Sounds cool Tikaro! You make very innovative maps that are fun to play, so I'm enjoying the Dev updates

If you'd like, I can send you my map file so you can get a more in-depth look at what I did (or didn't do). Just send me a message or whatever.
Hey, thank you! This is very helpful right now, as I'm finishing stuff up in SoaOA (oh man, this is such a sexy acronym). I don't think I'll need your save, the text is more than enough feedback.
I'm gonna make the proper path to the cathedral more obvious in the release version, I've even though that it could become a problem back when I was building the map.
I'll do some more work and polish stuff up. but I think with what I still want to do, the "release" version should be up either today, or tomorrow.
Alright, sounds cool. Don't rush now, you're not on a time limit anymore.
If your polishing doesn't interfere with the current speedrun route I've planned, then I can get at least sub 11 on SoaOA.
If you can't tell, I'm a little anxious for full release so I can speedrun it. Been doing some practicing on the pre-release version.
Got a really good time on a pre-release attempt and couldn't resist uploading it. Besides, the polish shouldn't affect the map too significantly, so the route would likely be more or less the same. Enjoy.
(Apologies for the triple post. People need to post here more often. :P)
I think I've done everything I wanted to with it, so...
Style: Linear-Branching
Length: 3 monument items
Required Minecraft version: 1.7.2
Map version: 1.1
Follow your legacy as a beasthunter to the wicked lands, infested with horrible creatures, in search of great treasures: the Heirlooms of a long-lost bloodline. Retrieve them from the depths of the Old Cathedral, but be careful, as it is a dangerous place to explore alone. May you succumb to numerous monsters or explode to pieces due to a slight mistake, surely no living soul will know...

Yeah, I've basically copied my post from the jam thread. Now to copy it one more time into the OP. C:

That's some cool digging.
I don't think polished version will have a different route, it might even be slightly faster because I've added one stone pick at the start of the tiny graveyard area.
Oh yeah, if you added a stone pick that'll save like ten seconds or more. Saves having to make a wooden pick. But I think I'll let someone else have a go before I try to my beat my record.
