Do you love vanilla Minecraft but have grown bored of the same generated structures? Looking for something new to explore and a new land to call your home?
Tired of finding the same ordinary structures in the Minecraft world, I decided to scour the internet and my imagination to come up with new structures to build and spread across a freshly generated land of my own. That land became Nyvarld.
Nyvarld contains Well Over 100 Unique New Structures and Locations to Discover rebuilt from and inspired by builds from all over the internet Minecraft community, as well as plenty of my own creation. This includes things from battle towers and new dungeons to tents, houses, and farms. You'll find shrines, temples, giant trees, forts, ruins, towers, tree houses, and plenty more.

ADVENTURE:
With Nyvarld, I hope to bring back the sense of adventure and exploration that Minecraft held when we first stumbled upon a new structure and wondered what it was, how it got there, and what sorts of treasures and secrets it held for us. But more than that, by building the structures into the already-generated terrain, I want to make some of the structures make sense in their surrounding and create some sense of history.
Since the Minecraft map is near-infinite, Nyvarld will always be a work in progress. However, there are still dozens of new locations and secrets to explore across the land, and plenty of room in between to build your own home and start your own empire. And once you journey beyond the boundaries of the known world, you can always expand Nyvarld by adding your own new structures.
And while Nyvarld is fantastic for lone wanderers and explorers, it is even more fun for parties adventuring together in groups on a server!
These videos contain massive spoilers, so watch at your own risk.

DETAILS:
Nyvarld is a large biome world that was designed for play with vanilla Minecraft. The world was generated in 1.5 and upgraded to work with 1.6.2. New structures end around 1000-2000 blocks from spawn, after which normal world gen takes over.
The structures included are a mix of original creations as well as other builds and structures inspired by the Minecraft community.
All known credit for inspired structures are compiled and listed in a book found near spawn (and links are also included in the "Build List" text document located in the world save folder). However, all content built in Nyvarld has been built exclusively by me and is based only on pictures and videos of others' builds. All are recreations and no schematics or other imported files were used.
Nyvarld is the result of almost 6 months of work, but there's always more to build. If you have recommendations or suggestions of new structures that you'd like to see, please message me and let me know. I'm always looking to expand the world and add new builds.
Please check out the links listed in the Build List, as there are some incredible builders and creators out there in the Minecraft community whose work should be acknowledged.
Nyvarld wouldn't be half the world it is if it weren't for all of them.
BANNERS:
Below are banners and image links so you can use them in your signature to help spread the adventure.
I'm always happy to hear about your adventures and get your feedback, so please leave comments! And if you'd like to feature Nyvarld in a video, I'd love to watch it! Just let me know either in a comment or a PM and I'll include a link to your video above.
THANK YOU!
Looking for more Nyvarld or more structures?
The sequel to Nyvarld is called Annanvarld and is in the early planning phases. It will be incorporating the new 1.7 biomes, utilizing the 1.7 and 1.8 blocks, and possibly 1.9 changes depending on when development begins and ends. It will incorporate updated versions of many of your favorite Nyvarld structures as well as several new ones in a more detailed world, bringing the Annanvarld experience closer to an adventure map than the vanilla-inspired Nyvarld. I'm also planning on releasing an Annanvarld-themed Recurrent Complex pack so you can incorporate Annanvarld structures into your own world alongside mods and modpacks of your choice!
In the meantime, you can find me working as part of the development team on Criswelvania, the epic adventure map approaching its fourth year. We're currently working on updating to 1.8 and expanding to Book II, but int he meantime, download and play one of the earlier versions of the map. You won't be disappointed!
Looks freaking amazing, and I want to download this so bad, but, I can't seem to find a download link? Maybe I'm just really blind, but I don't see one at all during that post. D:

Nope, you're right. The post needed a bit more work, but I had to go watch Breaking Bad. Oh well.
It should be there now, and there are a few more pictures too.
Download link isn't working for me... This is what I'm getting just to let you know
Yeah, Dropbox just let me know it was suspending my public account because of too many downloads. Apparently you folks love some Nyvarld! Although, I'm sure it doesn't help that it's such a massive download as well.
I'm working on trying to upload it to Google Drive or some alternative and will have it back up as soon as possible.

Alright! I've got a second one up that should be working! Let me know if anyone has any problems with the download.
After spending several hours, exploring, I figured I'd come back and say how much I'm enjoying this map. I honestly wish Mojang would take some time to add random structures as good as these, with some of the most amazing land formations I've seen in a while (Is is a seed, or did you customize some of the land?). After finding a few building, and a brick farmhouse where a large family of villagers lived, I claimed it as my own, but, didn't want to settle down, knowing that there was more in store elsewhere. Even after going a fair distance away, I thought I had reached the end of the actual map, but lone behold, more random buildings! With no one thing (Which chests of course...), giving too much of a advantage. This map would be great for a server, espically with the sense of wonder and exploration it gives. One of the best maps I've played in a while, and even without a real set goal, 8/10. With the only complaints being, I wish some the structures, and buildings had some sort of roads, or signs. I can't imagine that a village, or the farmhouse I mentioned, wouldn't be connected to anything else. Otherwise, I was simply delighted to play this map. Keep up the good work Spooky.
Overall, I must say this is an excellent map! It brings back the joy of adventuring (oh the good 'ole days)... Anyway, all in all, great job! It was a very enjoyable map to play. This map was so excellent that it only gets one, semi-negative comment; I sometimes had a hard time finding some of the structures. Other than that, it was very fun and enjoyable. Definitely a must play for all the adventurers out there. Diamonds to you!

What a fantastic and glowing review! Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it so much!
The whole project grew out of loving to play the vanilla game but wishing that there were more structures and awesome things to explore. Every time Mojang adds a new structure, I get super excited, but there's no way that they can keep up with all the amazing things that the community can generate, and I've seen tons of great suggestions for structures and buildings that would fit in great with the vanilla game. So, i figured I might as well implement them myself and have some fun with it while I'm at it.
The world was generated from just a normal seed. A beautiful and lucky one that was filled with all kinds of fantastic places, but just an ordinary seed. I tweaked it in places here and there, but for the most part I left it as it was and tried to build to compliment the natural world as it had generated.
And as for still encountering new structures even after a great distance, I tried to make it so that if you went out from spawn, travelling in any direction, you have the potential to encounter new things up to about 1000-2000 blocks out. There's no hard border or anything, and the distance varies, but generally if you're anywhere between spawn and about 2000 blocks out, there's probably something new to explore somewhere nearby.
I've actually played an earlier version of this on a server with a couple of my friends, and the excitement we get when we discover new places is so much fun. Once one of us found something, the rest of us would come join them so we could all discover the new place together. Adventuring in groups is exhilarating!
Lastly, as for the roads and signs, I had thought about that. I was somewhat torn since vanilla does not include roads between things (because it really can't with things being randomly generated), and it's a lot of fun to be able to find new places and to name the locations and claim your own land and call it whatever you like. But at the same time, this is a set world with a bit of history to it and roads and names are really part of what you get with something like that. Also, roads are not easy to make on such a giant world unless you've got some sort of in-game map, which I did not have at the time. And if I'm going to give places signs and names, i wanted to go all out and include a lot of lore with books and everything, which I really didn't have the time for.
I think that if there's an update to Nyvarld, or in any sequel world I make (cause I've been thinking about that and how exciting it'll be with all the new 1.7 biomes!), I'll certainly include roads and lore.
Thanks again for taking the time you check it out and for such a thorough review!

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it! One of the things I love the most about Minecraft is that feeling you got when you first explored the world and everything was new and you never know what you would find around the next corner or over the next hill of through that next forest. The adventuring feel and potential with Minecraft is huge, and it's a shame that that feeling fades after finding the same old structures and biomes. So why not bring back the feel of the good 'ole days with new things to explore?
There are plenty of maps that take advantage of texture packs or mods, and use them to great effect. There are some that make breathtaking use of redstone and command blocks as well. However, i just wanted to keep it as simple and vanilla as possible, and see what kind of fun and wonder people can get out of good old fashioned builds, blocks, and exploration.
As for having trouble finding some of them, I debated putting in some roads, but eventually decided against it. however, they'll certainly be included in future updates, or the sequel world (whichever I decide to do). But, as with vanilla Minecraft, finding things by stumbling upon them while exploring the world and discovering new structures that you didn't even know were there is part of the fun. Hopefully it should at least keep you exploring and adventuring for a long time, knowing that there are always mroe new things out there to find.
Wow, I love this! 100 structures is...a lot! It would be amazing if this was made into a mod and the structures randomly spawned! Great Job!
Well, I know it's a lot more than 100, but I don' have the full count yet. I started counting last week before I had everything finished and I had to stop a little after 100, but I still had a few more biomes worth of places to count. The full count might be 125 or 130? Maybe more? I'll try to finish the count later and let you know what I come up with. Although at this point there are so many spread around that I'm that even I've forgotten some of them!
Unfortunately I really don't know anything about coding and am just not able to make them randomly spawn. I've spoken before with one of the guys who makes the Blue Vanilla mod and he explained a little bit about how I might be able to do it, but I think I'd just be so out of my depth and I don't know that I'd be able to get the structures to spawn as nicely in the world as I would like. At least when I place them myself in Nyvarld, I know that they look good with the surroundings and match the biomes and potentially relate to nearby structures in fun secret ways.
However, if anyone has a mod that imports structures and uses them to randomly generate in maps like the current structures, and wants to use some of the Nyvarld structures, just let me know and be sure to credit me (and/or the original creator/inspiration for that structure as listed in the credits).
But thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying the map!
First off, I DO really like the personal touch implicit in creating a map, with ruins placed on it. There is thought, and an implied history present, which makes the experience a lot more magical than just stumbling across some random thing placed by a random number generator.
That said, Nyvarld is not going to contain the worldgen for the mods some players really really like to use: It will be missing the xtra vegetation from Natura and Growthcraft. And the ores required to progress in Thaumcraft, Ars Magica or Forestry (or tech mods like Thermal Expansion). And it won't have beehives. Some mods support retroactive worldgen. Many don't.

Nyvarld wouldn't be half the world it is if it weren't for all of them.

I'm always happy to hear about your adventures and get your feedback, so please leave comments! And if you'd like to feature Nyvarld in a video, I'd love to watch it! Just let me know either in a comment or a PM and I'll include a link to your video above.
Nope, you're right. The post needed a bit more work, but I had to go watch Breaking Bad. Oh well.
It should be there now, and there are a few more pictures too.
I hope you like it!
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it! I look forward to seeing your videos!
I'll let you know when it's back up.
Thanks!
Ok, thanks! Can't wait to try it out.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it!
Let me know if you get around to that video. I'd love to watch it and maybe link it here!
Alright! I've got a second one up that should be working! Let me know if anyone has any problems with the download.
Thanks for bearing with me, everybody!
That would be awesome! Let me know if you do. I'd love to watch them and link them here!
Thanks again and good luck in your adventures!
Many don't.
Point is. There is a mod: Ruins (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1113099-162-ruins-structure-spawning-system) that does automatically add ruins - from template files - to the world.
Nyvarld *could* additionally be published as a replacement set of templates for the Ruins mod.
