NEWS: Don't know how to use MCEdit? No problem! This schematic now comes with map downloads! Scroll down a couple of lines for the download!
You may know the popular series/mod, Ultra Hardcore, done by popular YouTubers such as those on the Mindcrack server. The 1.6 (and 1.7...and especially 1.8) update has added some new features that have enabled me to create a schematic that will turn any world into an Ultra Hardcore World. To use this schematic file, you need:
-MCEdit by codewarrior, download at http://www.minecraft...w-open-source/
-Some knowledge of how MCEdit works.
-Some knowledge of Command Block logic recommended, but not necessary.
This schematic features the ability to:
-Spread players*. (DEFAULT: 900 block radius)
-Turn off natural regeneration.
-Keep track of player kills.
-Keep track of your Ghast Tears.
-Display player health in the Tab option with coloured names representing the amount of Health each player has.**
-Announce the start of the game in flashy bold, underlined gold text.
-When a player gets a Ghast Tear, it is switched to a Gold Ingot to prevent potions of regeneration.**
-When a player kills anouther player, they are awarded a Golden Apple.**
-A border that will teleport back and alert players who have reached the border*.** (No MCEditing a bedrock border necessary!) (DEFAULT: 1000 block radius border)
-Stop the time, you'll play in permanent daytime.**
-A message can optionally pop up at the beginning of the game that when clicked, will give everyone a Golden Apple. THIS IS OPTIONAL, AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED WITH PEOPLE YOU TRUST NOT TO ABUSE THIS! This feature was added for people who want to PvP and not die to environmental/mob causes before they can PvP.**
*Distance is configurable if you have knowledge of advanced Command Block logic.
**An optional feature, that can be disabled/enabled via a lever.
All that you need to do is:
-Import the schematic near a freshly-loaded world's spawn point in MCEdit
-Have fun!
Some screenshots of the schematic:
Link Removed (V1.0.2) (Does not work with 1.6 or older and 1.8 or newer)
Link Removed (V2.0) (Does not work with 1.7 or older) This is broken until Mojang fixes the bug where Entity UUIDs don't work with certain commands. (Like /effect)
Map Downloads
If you want to play Ultra Hardcore but don't know how to use MCEdit, map world downloads are available. This way you don't have to do any MCEditing to start playing, however, you do not get a random seed this way. There are five different variants (or seeds), each with their own natualy-generated world. If you know how to use MCEdit and want to generate your own world, however, then use the schematic.

looks cool, but not really my style though, but good job, it looks like you took a lot of effort on it.
Thanks!
In other news, Jens has announced that soon there will be a way to create a border via a command, so instead of the border this schematic creates, (a curvy hexakaidecagon) there will be a perfect circle for a border, and it will also be easier to modify. I'll update the schematic when that is added, or if I find any more bugs, but the latest version seems really stable.
I'm in a lurch as to coming up with more features to put in the schematic to enhance gameplay. I have a limited amount. If you have any ideas to make this more fun, let me know! (I'll credit you in the schematic!)
Would seem useful. Looks quite easy to use... Not my type of thing though (No one to play with xD)
You could make an extreme version where it clears any instant health potions and the border slowly closes in
It works fine with single player too, you should play on a server or LAN though, even if you are alone. If you aren't on LAN then the testfor command (which does the Ghast Tear to Gold Ingot Switching and Golden Apple award for slaying an opponent) doesn't work once you travel ~200 blocks away from x0z0 in the Nether. As for an extreme version, thanks for the inspiration!

Just had to fix a minor derp-up. I had the command set to /gamemode @a 2 instead of /gamemode 2 @a. I really dislike how with that command the arguments are in reverse order. Q_Q
