Don't forget everyone, your encounters will be placed on the ground! People will be able to get to your encounter from all directions. So it's very important you have a ground floor where the player starts. Above the ground floor your redstone must be hidden! Below ground floor, not so much.
I just submitted my entry! Oh man do I hope I sent it correctly. I'm so excited for this map though! Collaboration maps are the best kind of maps.
I'll be doing another round of testing shortly and am in the process of making a video to help better explain the entrance/exit mechanic a little better as well as a few other faqs answered.
Hey there!
Listen, I really don't want to waste anyone's time, so I'll be brief.
I'm currently in the middle of making an encounter for this map. It's coming along pretty well, but I have a quick question I need answered: am I allowed to slightly alter the entrance mechanism to the encounter? I won't change any of the core redstone, I just wanted to make it trigger some dialogue when the player enters. If that's okay with you, great! If not, then I guess I could make a proximity detector.
Anyway, that's just about it. Thanks!

Yes, if you're good with redstone you can absolutley latch onto the entrance circuit to trigger when they enter the encounter. As long as the shape of the entrance circuit stays the same because I will be copying in those command blocks again at a later time.

YES!
Thank you SOOOOO much! That just made my life a whole lot easier!
As soon as I figure out how to post pictures, I'll put up a picture to show you how my encounter's coming so far!
Lol. What about if you name the mob egg and put it inside a dispenser then trigger it to fire when you start the encounter?
That could work, the only problem is that the nameplate only shows when you look straight at the mob. And when the mob is behind iron bars you can't see the nameplate.

You could also set the spawn time to be crazy long, so after the first one spawns (when you get within range) it doesn't spanw another one for an extended period of time. Lots of options anyway, good luck
I am making a nether-themed zone. It will include a fake Nether Portal. Is it okay if I make an unreachable portal for sound effects?
Unfortunately, adding a picture makes the "post too long", so I cant post a picture.
I thought you already made one! or are you fixing it?
Can't wait, was hoping someone would build a castle (it looks like a castle at the top!)
Great entry! Sent you some feedback, hope it helps

No problem, looking forward to your encounter
I changed the properties of the spawner to only spawn 1 mob in that location, and, well...

Also, here is an awesome suggestion I had: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1745550-biome-effects/
