If you couldn't mine, it would be called Craft. If you couldn't craft, it would be called Mine. If you couldn't do anything, it would be called a ripoff! >:> My quiz-->http://www.onlinequi...assessment-1638
I just wish we got an update. I would be fine if there was no progress but at least an explanation.
Okay.
A few factors contribute to my inactivity on this map.
- Busy with school, band, etc. This is my junior year in high school, so I'm starting to take a lot of higher-level classes, which means there's more work involved.
- Inspiration is at an all-time low. I'm in a terrible predicament where I don't want to work on The Painter at all, but I really want to start making map #2.
Believe me, I haven't forgotten about this map. I think about it every day, and I really feel bad for letting it be for this long. But there's not much I can do about it right now until things clear up a little bit.

Who said you were not allowed to work on map #2? If you are inspired to work on map #2, work on map #2. Maybe you'll get inspired to work on the Painter after you work on the second map. Anyway good luck in school and mapping. I hope you get your inspiration back soon
I am pretty sure everyone on this forum has a life. There is probably something you can do while waiting, and Sketch is busy. Patience is key, and quite frankly it is rude to tell someone what to do when you are not authorized. Don't think about it as much and the time will go by faster, as a suggestion to anyone who is feeling impatient. "I am working on it" and anything to that effect is enough to know it will get done when time is available.
Do NOT harass the creator of this project. People have lives and do NOT have to create anything. They do all this out of the kindness of their heart and to gift a part of their creativity to us players who enjoy Minecraft.
Please from now on, have patience. It will be updated when it is updated.

I'm going to be honest; I really, really want to play this map. I'll also admit, in defense of the many others who have said so, that it is very frustrating to not see any kind of real update or progress for quite a while. When something's that interesting, it's very hard for those left waiting to think in terms of 'I didn't pay for this' or 'someone's working their butt off, by themselves, to bring this to me with no compensation'. Especially when it seems so tantalizingly close, it's very easy to become angry at creators for failing to 'just finish the damn map', and I'd be lying if I said that I was immune to these same feelings.
But the moderators are right. We have no right to be angry, to rush you, or even to expect anything from you at all. This is your project, something you do because you enjoy it, in your free time, with very little thanks apart from praise for your creativity, and none of us has any right to judge you harshly for doing things at your own pace.
Unfortunately, we're all human. Everyone thinks and feels things whether they have a right to or not, and telling ourselves that we don't doesn't make the feeling go away. Many of us are frustrated by the wait, and even if the mods shut down any harsh criticisms, you're going to see traces of it in the absence of enthusiasm from your watchers and the occasional query of 'is it done yet'. Under the circumstances, I can absolutely understand why you'd feel like you almost don't even want to finish. Working in that environment, where you feel like you have to do something because it's expected of you is a huge demotivator. And even if you force it, the drive and spirit is just gone. It'll become a chore, and that will show in the end result.
So, right or wrong aside, since we can't reasonably be expected to not be frustrated, and you can't reasonably be expected to be productive with us breathing down your neck, why not take a break from this place, or from the map? Get back to it when you have the inspiration again. Work in private, maybe show it off to a few friends or testers whose opinions you respect, but don't put it on here, where all you'll get in return is a host of people wanting to know why it still isn't done.
Believe me, if you just go poof tomorrow, we'll survive. And if we want to see the Painter badly enough, we'll keep checking to see if it's up. But in the meantime, if the community's expectations have become too stressful, it may be time to step away, and those of us with any sense will support that decision.

I couldnt agree more. they have lives, so stop telling them to drop it and make something that will give you something to do for a few hours (even thuogh it is pretty cool)

A month or so ago I started looking into finding another really good CTM map when I found this. It was exactly what I was looking for; linear branching, big open spaces, not floating, awesome structures. But when I saw the fact that is was still WIP, my heart sunk. Over these last weeks I have checked in now and again to see if anything has happened and have read some of the comments to catch up on whats been going on. It seems that most really want to play it and see it complete and most people are happy to wait. I am happy to wait for the complete experience, but in the meantime I would suggest removing this thread from the forums. Whether or not you finish the map is up to you, but leaving this thread up and giving people a teaser of an epic map that may or may not be completed shouldn't be done. I suggest removing this thread from the forums and re-posting if or when you complete the map. Good luck however you approach this
As you all may have been able to tell, I haven't managed to regain inspiration just yet. However, things are starting to quiet down now and I'm beginning to have more free time. I figured that the best way for me to get back into mapmaking is to simply create something aesthetic, but I don't want to work on map #2 yet, so I started on this:
Terminal Assault. Six areas, four objectives, and the first minimap I've created that doesn't have time restrictions on it. Hopefully I can put a ton of effort into it (I'm already very pleased with how it's turning out). I realize this may not be the most popular choice I could've made as I know a lot of you are getting sick of waiting for The Painter, but I honestly believe that this will help me, and I'm going to stick with it.
Area Names:
The Valley of Champions (Spawn) - Done aesthetically.
The Ravaged Warscape (Wool 1)
The Great Divide (Wool 2)
The Decrepit Courtyard (Wool 3)
The Fall of an Empire (Wool 4)
The Rush to Freedom (Finale)
----------
Additionally, I've made an update to All in a Nutshell. The changes are pretty minor, just some balance changes. The late-game areas are now easier and have better and more loot, and there's probably around 5X more arrows or maybe even more than that. Hopefully it makes the map not quite as impossible in the final intersection.
how about an update, its been almost a month since the last one
what do you expect?
everybody goes to school!
Oh, now i have to get ready for school...

Be patient man! He does not have to finish it. He has a lot of real life stuffs going on. And remember real life st00f comes first (kinda).
