More screaming-for-help Alvarp asking for answers:
So, I've been doing my homework for this map, watching my Zisteau and AMLP, and they've taught me general concepts for da CTM's, and I'm going to get my Race for the Wool skills back up for exam week, so very soon, (with my fellow Christian Atheist Nazi Deceptions, for anybody who cares) but I still want to see what you thing about (possibly) cheating and watching your developer's commentary for strategies and other useful things specific to this map?
P.S. I took your advice, and went to the grand intersection, where I did not expect bad things for some crazy reason. I got killed to death by kind-er baby spiders. It was a scary day. The end.

All up to you. I watched Vechs devcom on Spellbound Caves before actually playing the map, so if that makes the map for fun for you, go for it!
I always, wait before I watch the devcom's and vechs always finds some piece of custom lewt that I missed.
Haha, I did that with Waking Up. Beat an area, then watch it. It was fun, except for hissing sands, dang it Vetches, I wish I had known your strategy for that area. >_<
Notable changes:
-Rebalanced loot
-There is no longer random loot, but rather shiny new special hand-placed items in every chest
-Most new items are named and have a rank and lore
-The better the item, the rarer it is, of course
-Minor Aesthetic Fixes
-Did some work in the Emberborne Sanctuary
-Did some work on the Monstrosity
-Did some work on ???
-Added some more loot chests (*cough* Karrott *cough*)
Enjoy!
v1.1.1 is planned. I will be doing some work on the Evertick Clocktower and the Emberborne Sanctuary, plus bug fixes, of course.
When I opened the other LP section spoiler I found this derp line of text [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=n9KoDr2r0rY"]. You might want to fix it just so your op remains perfect.

Gah! It does that every time I edit for some reason. :/
I was a bit tired of sandstone when I started playing this map. Upon seeing the initial cavern, I thought to myself: "not another sandstone area..." However, after a quick look around, I noticed how different the area actually looked. It was a lot better than most other sandstone based area's I've seen.
I started off by going through all the mossy cobble buildings. Found some basic equipment and harvested almost 2 stacks of books while encountering minimal resistance. I found the hallway to the first intersection but had to check out the mossy cobble wall first. There, I encountered my first custom mob. They hit me for around 8 hearts of damage per hit but luckily, they were terribly slow. GODDAMMIT VECHS NOT EVERY CUSTOM MOB HAS TO HAVE SPEED 3. This worked really well to balance them out. I got the white wool after 2 deaths and proceeded to the first intersection with an inventory full of basic loot.
AREA: Intersection 1
I started by making four platforms off the side of the intersection. One was for storage, one for my potato farm, one for my tree farm, and the last one was for my cobblestone generator. I found the chest and the enderchest above the intersection.
Then, I followed the water slide down. It was a lot more dangerous than I anticipated and nearly got knocked off several times. I got to the bottom of the intersection and found the Scroll of Rock. I also saw this:
but I doubt I'm going there without fire resistance potions. While taking the screenshot I managed to let 2 blazes spawn and had to hide in the loot box in order to take them out without igniting all the things. To be honest I doubt that second loot box has anything other than a stick in it. The way up was also tricky but I managed to get out.
I decided to take a peek in the other areas. I started with Evertick Clocktower. First I followed the ladder down and found the double chest with anvils. The skeletons shooting from behind the lava weren't really a surprise to me. I pillared and dug to get up and ended up in the lava with all my things, but I survived long enough to block myself in and safe my stuf... somehow. I broke the glass and ran the hell outta there. Damn invisible ladders.
Then I went to the Grand Intersection. The chest out in the open was obviously trapped. I dug around it (with my fists) to find a comparator only to hear a short hiss before the death screen appeared. I got back, recovered the stuff that was in the chest (I had nothing on me) and again, got the hell out of there.
After that I took a peek in the Decaying Laboratory. No traps at the entrance, except the feesh spawner. What a surprise. I followed the way down and met your silverfishhead zombies, and again, ran away.
I will go to Evertick Clocktower just because I want to do the areas in order.
Wool: 1 Deaths: 4 Chests (I like to collect as many chests as I can):25
You're making some great progress so far! By the way, the chest in the Grand Intersection passageway isn't directly trapped, there's just a timed spawner in the ceiling.
Well, that's the trap that got me. The entrance to Evertick Clocktower made me so paranoid that I took the time to check for comparators. Thanks for letting me know where the spawner is by the way...
So far, your map has greatly improved my vision on custom mobs. I did not like them before, but now I know that was because Vechs makes the most imbalanced custom mobs ever...
I try to keep my custom mobs as fair as possible. If they hit hard, I make sure they don't have speed 3. Hopefully they remain fair throughout the entire map.

Meh. Needs more chests in my opinion.
