Version 0.0.2 released for early alpha testing!
Be aware that this forum thread, as well as the map, are both still a WIP
Description of the map
This map is a map that I built by hand, utilizing some of the new command block features in 1.5. The entire map is based around you navigating up a one block jump, for you see, it is impossible for your charaacter to jump. This is due to command block magic. There are ONLY 5 levels done so far, but I do not want to go further until I get feedback on what I have so far. The 5 levels done so far are not too long, but I feel hat they will get the meaning of the map across.
Please respond for feedback, and I hope to be making a better thread in the near future if this is a success.
Thanks for the feedback!
Also, to help fix any problems, did you spawn with those items in your inventory?
yes, i did spawn with those items (except for the book and quill)
and, one quick suggestion; after you close the spawn (it currently looks unprofessional, but boxing it in should fix it), you should put the player into adventure mode, then give them a shears/shovel with unbreaking x on it and turn tile drops off. that should make it even better, as it gives the player one less rule to worry about and one less way for anyone to cheat.
See, the reason though that I wish for people to be in survival mode, is that in planned levels in the map, you will have to move levers around, like for say, there are 5 gold blocks and you only get one lever. Plus, I really dont care if they cheat, because I am in no way affected by it. It takes forever anyways to break the stone bricks, and it would just break the map for them. If they wish to cheat then I will say that they can cheat, but it will ruin their experience of what I hope will be a nice long, challenging puzzle map.
oh, I see what you mean. you really thought ahead, which signifies a great map in the making. I'll see what i can do to get this map well known (which, for now, is using a banner).
EDIT: after some research, I found that levers can be broken in adventure mode without any sort of tool. who knew?
I really like this concept, and I hope you make more levels! One thing though: Level 5 is already solved when the player gets to it. The slimeball is already on the pressure plate and not in the chest. But anyway, I hope you finish it soon!
It's a pretty nice map! It could use more levels, and the last level must have been solved. I took a little bit to get there, and when I got there, the slimeball wasn't on the pressure plate anymore, and it was unsolvable because there weren't any more slimeballs in the chest. All in all, it was enjoyable, but a little short.
