I admit it probably would have taken me a lot longer without the cheating, but between the disconnects I mentioned and minecraft occasionally sticking one of my directional keys and piloting me off cliffs, I cheated my stuff back frequently. >.<
First off, feedback.
Amlup's area was a tad anticlimactic. I bridged down with a water source block (was supplied plenty of those early on. VERY useful in the nether!) then along the wall until I was within ender pearl distance. Not too tough really, compared to...
*raises fists to the sky* VECHS!!!!!!! Okay the fireball towers mechanic was cool, but that ending was crazy! An entire third of the tower just explodes and I'm flying a million miles into the lava below. This happened to me twice. Even with that, and a few of the ghast clusters out of the way, forcing my way to that fleecy box was nigh impossible with the pigmen. Tone down that knockback by a level. o_O Dozens of my iron golems were just flying off the cliffside, but eventually I managed to force my way through it all to the wool.
I also kept encountering this bug where those lines around where you're about to place a block start flickering and I can't break or place blocks. Needless to say a little problematic when assembling iron golems. Best guess I can come up with is it has something to do with the ghast ball spawners.
I received a very ominous chat message upon completing the wool monument, but nothing seemed to happen, so I went after the records.
I went back and got all the remaining records. I never would have found Blocks or Chirp without the hints earlier in this thread. Chirp in particular could really use some distinguishing blocks to make it stand out among the 50 billion other holes in the map section I got lost in for over 6 hours straight.
My first death to Vechs, if it counts: I punched a ghast fireball in the turret into another ghast fireball, causing an explosion that blasted me clean off the edge. "<player> was doomed to fall by <himself>" Humiliating, but at least I didn't land in the lava.
Onward to the screenshot gallery!
The interior of my nether house, "The Crybox of Solitude." I brought in a ton of blast-resistant supplies from the monument and went to town. Outside the window, you can see that I also terraformed the outside area to be more cleanly green and full of trees.
Super fun map, all the way to the end. I'm just curious if 100% completing the monument unlocked anything.

I believe there was a post-game "Labyrinth" type area in the works - I think it's actually in the map, just hidden away as it isn't complete. If you want to check if it's there, try dig down in the center of the Monument room.

I'm probably going to be playing it soon, so I just wanted to make sure. And yes, this time I'm serious.
I started it up again earlier, but I decided no, and now that I have time I'll be taking it down. I got to late I2 last time, but time restraints. So now I get to suffer through moar zomberts. Yay?
Pantheon. A name that inflicts absolute fear and dread into even the most hardened of CTM veterans. But not me.
Wait, that last part was a lie. I'm scared out of my wits. Oh dear. Let's just get this over with.
Spawnpoint Insanity: So, as usual, I started up the map. Big surprise, right? I set up a nice death count, so you can laugh at my failures. Oh, and I'm playing in hard. Yay? The first section of Silent Start is quite easy... oh, I forgot. I've played this map before. But not completely. I got to I2, beat the first two areas in I2, and before I left for the final area... time restraints. No way I could beat this map. Nuh Uh. However, now it's not like that. Still might take me forever to win, but okay.
So I just made a beeline to the record, used it as a weapon for a while, and made it to the Pantern Sign. Creepers awaited me, and the rule board was quickly smashed. Good thing I know them by heart. Wait, I can dye wool, right?
Let me be not the first nor the last to say that the new zombies are HORRIBLE. I was initially trying to complete the netharack room normally, but I got down to 6 wooden planks left and zero progress. So, I did the normal thing. I rushed it. Took everything I had (well, I had ON ME, I still have a chest back there with the record and other materials) and just bolted. Worked well too. I got up to the spider room without any problems.
Then things went wrong. My armor started breaking, my weapons were gone, all I had left was a stone pick (almost broken) and one of the Light it Up Flint And Steels (Also almost gone) by the time I managed to get out. After that, I grabbed the wool, the loot, and RAN. I blasted past the ghast area, through the gates of skeletons, and into I1. I made a few quick rounds into the town area of Corrupted Gatria so I had SOMETHING, and now I'm sitting here resting before I continue on.
On the next episode of CTM, our very derpy hero will make a journey back into Silent Start to regain his supplies, and do some base building! YAY!
Current Death Count (As of End of this Post): 15 (Those zombies hurt!)
Stay tuned for more stupid adventures! Have a great day! Bye! -LULZ180
Welp, that's enough Pantheon for today.
So apparently I'm stupid. I loaded Pantern up in 1.2.5. YAY FOR HAVING TO RESTART. I'll get back to where I was, and then continue on. Jeez.
Good news! I got back to I1 and am now proceeding to get settled before continuing on back into the Orange Wool area. Semi-Bad news, I'm taking a break from Pantheon (I really hate the start of Pantheon. It just starts off so slow and tedious), and am playing ChiefWiggy's Inspired Gallery as a break. Once I finish that I will continue onwards. So yay.
Me and my friend started LP series on this map.
but u guys may not understand our conversation, because we are korean....so....
yeah but enjoy !!
[/media]
Yay! We need more LPs of this map. I might suggest adding captions if at all possible for the non-korean speaking viewers though, as this really isn't very appealing in it's current state due to that.
Tonight I completed Pantheon! I started playing off and on about a month ago and have been taking my time (I decided that is how I would conquer this map). Otherwise it would have been too frustrating.
Monument Pictures:
Thank you to everyone who contributed to make this map, it was epic!
Quick review of the areas: (tldr at the bottom)
Silent Start: Great challenging starting area, I'm glad it had some good loot to help get through it. Very difficult! Virulent Grove: Another well designed area. Nice loot, challenging because of max spawns, and the endless zombies comming from the spawners. great job! Corrupt Gatria: Easier area, good loot. I love graveyards so that was cool to see one here. The tower was a little frustrating because of all the ice, but it was well designed! Citidel of Sapphire: My favorite area in I1. Great mini-dungeons, and challenging because of max spawns. All the lapis blocks were helpful as early blocks. Echanted Lapis was my unbreakable weapon of choice the entire map, I also made my zombie exp farm in this area Great Job! Dorment Mines: At first this area looked great, but it ended up being too long, and not near enough loot. I expected to find tons of Iron here, especially after getting to the 1/2 way point. If the 1/2 way point would have been the end or if the whole 'mines' part was removed it would have been a better area. One of the most poorly designed areas of the map. YggdraSSSil: My favorite area of I2. Great mini-dungeons, nice loot, and challenging. Good job! (I loved the bow) Misty Deep: Huge area! It was very frustrating because of the size, amount of spawners, and all the ice. It would have been easier/better if we had iron armor at this point. But it was just tedious for me. Not a fun area for me. Flickerin Isle: A nice change of pace, smaller area, The dungeon was challenging, well-designed, and good loot. (I liked the regen sword) Good job! Rumblehiss Nest: I loved the Mine! The house became my main base. And with all the creepers here, I was able to mine tons of gold with TNT The Nest was frightning with those creepers... but well designed. The Ruins were also challenging yet fun, I really liked the Ninja outfit. Good job! Belly of the Beast: My favorite area of I3. A nice change of pace, good story, clever level design (and mechanic). Nice loot and great fun! Colossus Devorantem: This area is huge and seemed fairly empty. The loot was ok, it was relatively easy to get the wool and disc. The final structure seems to have tons of wasted space that could have been part of the dungeon. Everything looked good from a creative build point of view, just not very well desinged as a CTM area. Windbourne Spires: I had fun with enderpearls in this area. Not very difficult, it would have been better if the disc would have been somewhere else. Nesting Grounds: Pointless area that just made the trek between the 2 Intersections longer. I don't remember any exciting loot, and I didn't need any of the ores at this point. Probabally should have been left out, or there should be a shortcut once you beat it. The Palamock's Throne: Very challenging puzzle area! I liked it. Miner's Only Rule: Well designed area, great loot, and challenging. I have to say I loved the trap, even though it killed me and I lost all my items. Pyre of the Damned: Fairly easy dungeon for being end-game. Well designed, although it could have been a shorter walk to the wool dungeon. Death Fortress: Great final area, challenging, well designed, and perfect end-game loot. My favorite area of I5. Good job! Monument: Cool monument! my only complaint is I was hoping for a pre-built base-area like in Rumblehiss Mine. Labyrenth of the Silent: I love this type of dungeon. It had amazing loot, and was very challenging, great job!
TLDR: Best areas (best designed/fun):
Citadel of Sapphire
Yggdrasil
Belly of the Beast
Rumblehiss Mine
Labyrenth of the Silent
The Palamock's Throne
Miner's Only Rule
Death Fortress
Worst areas (poor design/not fun):
Dorment Mines
Misty Deep
Colossus Devorantem
The Nesting Grounds
Pyre of the Damned
CTM maps completed: Vinyl Fantasy I & II, From Ashes, Kaizo Caverns, Spellbound Caves, Waking Up, Sea of Flame II, Legendary, Lethamyr, Inferno Mines, Vulcara, Monstrosity, Pantheon, Remote District II, Ragecraft: The Corrupted Path, Ragecraft II: Insomnia, Uncharted Territory 1&2, Aima Caves, Tale of Two Swords, Sunburn Islands, Skyward Ascent, No time to explain!, Material Energy 4, Now THATS what I call CTM.
So, I've been away from these forums since mid-march. I figure it's about time for me to return to these forums and, more specifically, CTM maps. I'm gonna start with this because why the heck not? I don't feel like doing Inferno Mines yet (Still haven't done it...), so might as well get something else started.

I'm not actually sure. Nor am I quite sure of 1.7 balancing. I definitely need to set someone on some work for a 1.7 patch to ensure the map still plays smoothly, and fix up a number of issues I said I'd fix months ago.
Me and friends have started a LP for this map for the youtube account Punchingrainbowz

No, which scares me. I suppose doing daily updates on progress through text (Which was my initial plan until Ragecraft II came out and I forgot all about this map for a week) could kinda count, but it's nowhere near as appealing as watching the video, and still doesn't 100% guarantee that they didn't cheat to win.
Oh, and it's really neat to see you playing this map Brandon! I'd love to watch, but I haven't completed this map yet, and possibly never will. Maybe you'll break the Pantheon LPers curse?
I admit it probably would have taken me a lot longer without the cheating, but between the disconnects I mentioned and minecraft occasionally sticking one of my directional keys and piloting me off cliffs, I cheated my stuff back frequently. >.<
