This is the first map I've ever tried to construct. It's an Adventure Map about you, and maybe some friends, trying to conquer this tower....If you have the guts to!
Although this is my first Map, ever, I try to do things very smart and had some friends do Beta testing to see what wasn't working or needed to be balanced. I was surprised the map was as good as it was when they played it, but there were of course quirks (Which you'll get to SEE in their Let's Play they've posted of it!)and with what they had told me, I have cleared up the issues. This map will of course go over small edits as new updates occur, or if people find any new problems(Tell me if you do please!)
Map will take about 4-5 hours to complete. In total, this Map took a month to do, and another month for my beta testers to be able to record and help make that wonderful trailer. Texture Packs are not necessary but if you want one, select your favorite and jump on that map!
DIFFICULTY:
I've been trying to balance it out, but I'd say Medium-Hard. I've also been trying to balance it out with multiple players (The MAX amount is 4) and even if you do find yourself having a very tough time, you have many things in which you can grind off of to gain several useful items quickly.
3.0 update difficulty: Medium. The extra loot and better items should hopefully improve everyone's experience.
RULEZ:
1. Adventure Mode (Obviously
2. Never Peaceful (Unless you are done with a room and mob noises are annoying, switch back right after!!!) at least Easy Difficulty.
3. There are some gamerules set to false, do NOT set them back on (doMobSpawning and mobGriefing)
4. Don't craft tools/certain items from mob loot or use anytools they drop (such as a pick).
5. Do not use any sorts of cheats (creavtive mode) or break ladders/skulls.
6. Most important: have FUN!
SCREENSHOTS:
That chest happens to be the first one, incase ya wanted to know.
VIDEO/PLAYTHROUGHS:
Two player run on the BETA version, by Dan & Rob!
(REMINDER: BETA version, not the same as the official ALPHA version. These two experienced many different things than you'll probably get to on the one you download!)
Here's Dawgeth's Playthrough!
and here's Scrixx & Piggie's endeavor!
Delta gang's adventure!
Pearcour's run!
3.0 UPDATE:
This will be the final update. I think the map is balanced enough now to the point it needs no more fixing, unless Minecraft gets some change in the form of an update.
CHANGES:
1.More loot and better rewards so players don't feel overwhelmed.
2. In the Brewer Room, I made it so less Blaze spawn.
3. Added better hints so a player can't get confused with a puzzle.
4. Made changes to spawners in some areas.
5. Added a few special items to make grinding easy/fast.
6. Added certain enemies I previously never got a chance to put + new scenery for the final area.
7. Made it so the Boss couldn't fall into the void as easily.
8. Made some redstone changes so certain traps could function in the 1.5 update.
9. The Room "Hi Ho _____fish" has been made to be tougher.
10. Other room changes include "Winter", "Ssssss", "Nether", "Shrooms", and etc.
11. More signs to help players start out.
12. Edited a villager to give better trades.
UPDATE 3.1:
Fixed any forgotten mistakes and the map is 100% finished unless I can find a way to reduce lag considerably in an easy manner.
Any positive feed back ya got, please give a comment! Got a Let's Play? Tell me and I'll put it up there. Found anything wrong? Tell me and I'll see if it can be fixed!
Love the map so far - played through the first room for my channel @ DawgethPlays on Youtube. First video will go live tomorrow. To keep the videos in watchable chunks, Ill tackle a room or 2 at a time, and throw them up there.
I'm really looking forward to the challenge - prepare for incoming rage

Thanks a million! If you want to know as a little warning, you're going to be in quite the bumpy ride, but thankfully, it will be much more forgiving than my friends who played the beta version.
Map is wonderful!!! Well worth the download!! I did a lets play on youtube during the beta of it! Drain has a little Vechs in him DOWNLOAD IT!@!!!! Truly a new map maker to look out for!
Everybody with OCD is now raging at you
You should enable keepInventory, it's not fun if you drop all your items on death.
If the items get destroyed, it could make the map impossible.
Another not fun thing is having your items break.
All non renewable weapons and armor get a small too awesome to use effect, which is always annoying and never fun, as people end up never using them(At least not until the final boss.)
You can stop this by installing In-Game NBTEdit and then set the damage to -32000 on the items.
I can also do the same thing in maps, but not everybody uses it.

keepInventory true is something I could do, though I will probably make it optional.(lever on/off)
If you lose all of one wool because of some reason, you'd be unable to complete the monument. So, if you did come across the incident that you did lose a torch, you can get it back through creative(though don't do the whole map like so)
items do break, but with the shops system and how much work you have to do, you shouldn't have to worry about never having stuff. If you find yourself having nothing, then I will edit.
it is up to the player if they wish to use an item that isn't renewable. It can happen that if you save it, you might find something better, but you can always store it for back up.
I actually used In Game NBT Edit to change the spawners to have a shorter radius! But the thought of having some NEAR unbreakable weapons is good. Let me see a little bit more testing/watch the current walkthroughs first so I know where to really improve and give out more weapons like this.
Hello I started a let's play with my girlfriend, I hope you don't mind. It's pretty cool though, each room is different which keeps it interesting. I really like the concept for the shops. We're at floor 3 at the moment since we started late at night but we will keep playing and will upload a full series.
Definitely an interesting concept, which seems to be executed quite well! I like the look of it, the image at the top presenting the map, and the description. Nicely done!
No, check again.
Hmm, this is what I despise about the preview post thing...it deletes the links for some reason. Alright, there up again.

Lol. Do ya think I should change it????
