And it only took bridging, save scumming (made backups of the map at 7 points, since one death with so few resources basically meant you were doomed), and some slight cheating by going into a copy of the map in creative in order to find where stuff was and plan tactics.
First off: section off the monument half with some sort of zombie proof barrier.
Second: significantly better loot (particularly backups. Come on, one set of leather armor? That'll last like 30 seconds), or honeypots (dark spots that draw away mob spawning). That's just too many monsters considering I'm armed with leather and a stick.
Third: swap the places of the furnace/coal chests and the enchantment books/xp chest. I might have stood more of a chance if I had a bit of unenchanted iron armor at that halfway point, and it'd be a smoother transition than "well I've got iron, I've got the books to enchant it, but I can't smelt it! Oh it's waaaay over there through hell.
I was going to write off this map as impossible until I had the bright idea to just suicide into the fray with 5 torches/glowstone and spread them around. It took around 50 deaths and far longer than this map should have taken, but I progressed.

So Much Bridging
Wow I didn't think it was even possible in 1.6. I made this back in 1.4.7 without all the AI changes. Well done, I'll add a winner screenshot section to Smite caverns right away.
and after some more thorough combing (burning down the forest and abandoned village until I found them)
Feedback added in spoilers. Definitely my favorite map of yours so far, it's much more balanced than the last one. o_O
That was a lot of iron down there by the lava. o_O Yes I mined ALL of it. I suppose it was balanced out by the fact you only gave out a very limited supply of jack-o-lanterns. Still, this and the enchanting table could be a tad more guarded.
the "mystic spell of teleportation" is my favorite item ever. It's a little less useful due to the 2 second or so server lag before the mob realizes where it's headed. Though it is funny in a sort of loony tunes physics way.
That sharpness 15 sword was a little overpowered, but it was so satisfying exiting that area "grr, I'm a single skeleton and I'm here to stop you!" BLAM! and he just explodes into like 30 bones.
Oh, and on the Assassin's Blade, it should be "too many" not "to". Yes, I am that picky.
spell of swiftness doesn't glow like the other scrolls. Really liked the effect though, this was one of my favorite items for transport and quick escapes.
