I really wanna see this through to the end, so is there anything I can do to make the purple book teleport me or something like that?
--ACK! Many apologies for that, I thought we'd found all the potential issues. You have two options:
1) Utilize the following teleport coordinates:: tp 1650 92 -787
Or in creative mode:
2.1) Break this block here:: This one, in front of the purple entrance
2.2) Hop down, turn to the right
2.3) Replace the block below the chest with a redstone block, just like so.
2.4) The normal book teleport will function!
Meanwhile I'm going to fix the map and reupload it so future players don't have this issue. Again, my apologies!
Edit: For anyone who downloads Link of Faith after this point, they'll have the fixed version!
So we finally finished the map. It was fantastic. I've also recorded the whole thing. And yes, the purple linking book was broken for us as well. Personally, I felt the maze was a bit too confusing and the finale resembles MYST almost too much, like I knew which book to pick because I'd play and loved MYST, so there wasn't really a surprise for me. I also feel you should have included some check points in the plant parkour world - I think it was green. But other than that, I think this map is a work of perfection.
On a side note, I'm not sure people will understand the ending if they weren't familiar with MYST.
EXCELLENT WORK! Definitely the BEST looking map I've had the pleasure to play. I will post our first episode here when I get some editing done!

I am LOOOOOOVINGGGG this map. It is so, so, so much fun. One of my favorite maps I've ever played. The puzzles are unique and diverse, the gameplay is super engaging, the jumping puzzles are really fair, the builds are great, I have read EVERY SINGLE book I've read so far even though I know 95% of it is just random babbling an thoughts but it is really well-written and immersive and good and I like getting to know the characters.
However, I am totally stuck right now. I'm in the Gray temple or whatever, doing the color matching puzzle with the colored wool. I did the yellow, and then found another yellow in a dispenser and put that in the hopper, then it gave me a green wool which I put in the green hopper, and now I am stuck. It doesnt seem to be dropping any more wool and all the hoppers and dispensers are empty. I checked all the little side rooms. Heeeelpppp!
Edit: I dont know, either I did something wrong or it bugged out. But I flipped over to creative mode, flew up and nicked the purple wool out of the dispenser. I threw it in the purple hopper and proceeded as normal and everything worked fine, so who knows? Anyway, still loving it!

Oh thank you so much!
I replaced the block with a redstone block, I can't wait to continue!

Actually we had the same problem. The dispenser would not pop out any more wool. I believe it could be a bug. We just robbed all the wool and put them in the hopper.

Yeah I just ran into this same problem, too.
Dropped in the blue wool, *click*, green wool dropped out, threw it into the green hopper...
And then nothing happened. No wool or anything anywhere.
Had to go to creative and steal it out of the dropper up top.
Threw brown in *click*
Threw red in ... nothing
Threw yellow in *click*
Orange *click*
Gray *click*
And then purple. *click and drums*
That opened the door!
Maybe green and red have something that isn't triggering the dropper up top to drop down the next wool?
They trigger the signals to open the door just fine, but not the wool dropper it seems.
Traipsing through the credits area now, haha, look at all these references and things, Zork, Homestuck, Book series, so many things.
Ah I didn't get anywhere near all the diamonds, ended with 56 Bonus Diamonds.
I had a lot of fun wandering around, compulsively stacking items in messy chests, lol.
Kept a few "Unique" items in my inventory as I found them throughout the Adventure, like Sneaky Pete's Sword and armor set, Melonhead's Special Melon, and an assortment of Iris's Quills, Sprout's Sprouts, Rocky's Rubble, and a whole bunch of Books. (I bet Sprout'd be happy that I saved a few of her Books from the Captain's efforts (I can't believe he just chucked them into the sea lmao)
I wonder what the Captain looks like under his mask...
Oops, anyways, I'mma get back to exploring the credits area!
This Adventure was amaaaazing!
I've never played the Myst series, but even still this is now one of my favorite Adventures I've played through.
Well done to everyone who worked together to make this map great, and especially to you, SkyeGU!
This was a load of fun!

Well, that map was unbelievably awesome. You guys really achieved something great with this one. I couldn't believe how well everything flowed. The layout, the story... it was all so well-made, so cohesive, so much fun. I wish I could forget everything I just did and play it again fresh. You guys really know what you're doing both from a creative and a technical standpoint. Congrats on this awesome map and I can't WAIT for the sequel!

For Iyasenu, qmagnet, xJuniperx: Super glad you three enjoyed the maps, and it made me smile to read through your experiences! (Especially glad that Iyasenu saved some of Sprout's soggy books!)

Thank you for the specifics and the details! We'll look into fixing what the issue is very very soon...!
Overall absolutely loved the map. Amazing work on the map and story. Liked the notes from the characters throughout the journey. I would definitely recommend this map to others. Already have some in mind if they're interested.
Played through the entire map and got a total of roughly 64-70 diamonds or so. Plus or minus the ones that didn't have the usual bonus name. Don't think I got all of them though.
Noticed a few bugs, though. There's the Titania color room bug; got it on green and had to fly up and grab the other blocks to finish the puzzle. The purple age key in the main hub didn't seem to work, however, and I ended up mucking about inside of the door mechanism for a while. Eventually gave up and took the door apart to find that it *had* gone off, but the blocks had somehow stayed put.
I'm curious about one thing especially: what's up with the end portal that I found in a certain portion of an age? You know the one. Is it actually possible to get there without cheating, and is there something other than Minecraft's normal End there on the other side?

PISTON DOORS....!!! I'll double-check into the door itself, but your other two issues you ran into are noted. The issue with the wool block puzzle is on the agenda to fix ASAP, and the purple teleporter has been fixed already.
On a fun little note to mention, all of the 3x3 doors are going to be replaced with 9 command block systems after 1.7 happens. Instead of relying on pistons that seem to fail on occasion.

Nope, there isn't. It was built early in the map's development when the idea for [that world] was to utilize the Nether, the End, and the overworld as the three areas of its adventure. Due to a number of issues, the idea had to be abandoned but the End portal remained as an aesthetic feature. There might be an alternative version of that world there, but there also might not be. I can't recall.
I downloaded the map again after 1.6 came out, and played again. And it's still Awesome!
Some time into my first world (Aysu), I came up with the idea of searching Youtube for VGM that fit with the Age's theme, sorta.
Also, we won't be insulted if you add us to your main post as an LP. We wouldn't even be offended if you made us a featured LP for the 1.6.4 version...
Say, I have to ask. We (and by "we" I mean Masterofpowah and I) did a playthrough of this awhile back, and I'm wondering if any of you map creators saw it. Might be useful to you, we found some bugs you may not have been aware of.
I know one posted on the first video saying that you were really busy at the time and didn't have time to watch it, and that you'd get around to it eventually, just wondering if you dd in fact get around to it eventually.
We already embedded it somewhere near the beginning of the thread, but it's so buried I'll just drop a link here.
I have played the original Myst and it's sequel, but not the third iteration of the Myst trilogy sadly. Even then, I seem very interested in wanting to play this map, but I would like to know if I can play this map on 1.7.2.

I can't recall, to be honest. A part of me says I didn't get the chance, so I'll give it a run-through.
but I would like to know if I can play this map on 1.7.2.
It's probably compatible as-is but I want to go through and check while I make quite a few updates utilizing the 1.7.2 changes. Especially for retrofitting the Dam puzzle. So you could try, or wait a bit for the changes to be done and added and the map to be officially updated.

Sweeeeeet.
