havent even played it, and while i think its a great idea, i really dont wanna download it. obviously from the comments, it wasnt well thought out.... and on top of that, the shameless self-bumping is a bad move. it makes you look like a complete idiot.
---edit---
i played the map, and im going to try to help you here. i know i've typed a lot, but bear with me and you might be able to make this map... well, good.
i downloaded parts 2+3 to check them out. out of the two, at least number one looks decent.... :\
-number two is way too small, increasing size was a good thing
-putting the two subs on the same map was pure laziness. you noticed something was wrong, so you just left it and built a new one next to it? no. leave it somewhere nearby as an easter egg, sure... but dont just build another right next to it... your not playing a survival world making a second better base next to your first, your building a map! there is a difference!
-spawning in survival was much nicer then creating a lan server with cheats on, changing my gamemode, deleting stuff, and changing back.
-the iron path is complete BS in every way, shape, and form. you could EASILY change the spawn point, but instead you take time to make a long and very inefficiently made path out of a VERY valuable material. dont do that.
-some of the bigger sub had redundancies. a large area for a farm, okay. one above it for animals? that was a good change. a SECOND farm? why? we have one, why do we need another? dont fill blank space, find a good use for it.
-the diningroom-ish place is a grey area. not exactly functional, but it works nicely with the idea. those that dont like it could just change it, no harm done really. overall i liked that you used the story to decorate an area.
-getting in the big sub was a nightmare. i felt like i was playing a parkour map. hitting the button, swimming, and trying to jump in was retarded. i ended up flipping the lever after hitting the button (a feat on its own) and then trying to get in with the door open was even harder.
-but the WORST thing of all was the area AROUND the sub. water blocks missing making currents above the water, a one block path leading to the sub, and overall ugliness.

my advice... scrap the map you have, but keep a schematic for the bigger submarine. use MCedit, it'll help. remove the water from the schematic, and replace it in a new world... put it deeper in the water, and sculpt the world around it with that in mind. remove the "go outside during the day" rule, say you can go outside but MUST stay underwater. give a diamond helm with both water enchants and unbreaking something, and let the player go. there are ways to work around being underwater trying to get wood, im sure... maybe there's a glitchy way to grow saplings under water? idk. havent tested it.... just dont make an area in the ship to grow trees in! thats insane lol....
keep in mind, the idea was to have a self submarine. but why? for what purpose would you need to stay underwater that long? maybe there was a valuable item that can be gathered at the seafloor? it would add a LOT of depth to your idea, and eventually make it better.

now, before i quit i have one more thing to say. do NOT under ANY circumstance EVER bump your own map like that. its stupid, lazy, and overall makes you look bad, and makes you and your maps lose all credibility. noone is going to want to look at your map if you bumped it once a day for a year. showing "i got this many downloads" is fine every once in a while, but even that doesnt really matter if noone is viewing it....
putting "# downloads" in the forum title is nice, but a real judge of how good your map is.... is the comments. if people are continuously commenting, you made a good map. people wanna play it. if you have a bunch of downloads, it means you posted a good idea from the name of it (submarine survival? thats original) but it was so crappy that noone actually bothered to comment on it.
when you bump your map, it tells people "this map is so crappy that noone cares enough to comment, and he bumps it to try to force ppl to see this crap! im not downloading this!!!"
bumping is bad.
overall, good idea, bad use of it. if you'd like, PM me and i may be able to help you.

The idea is there, sort of. Surviving in a sub is different, but not all that original. But the presentation is not at all attractive. It just seems lazy. Put some more attention and work in, and this might be good.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
When you think you find an awesome and unstoppable character, leave it up to Bioware to kill him in an inglorious and totally stupid fashion.
