Welcome ladies and gents to a somewhat different sort of CTM map, Beacon Brigade!
Normally a CTM map will have you explore myriad dungeons to hunt down blocks to place into a victory monument, but here you're taking mineral blocks out to Beacons, as the name would imply.
I've planned for ten maps to be made, so stay tuned as the roster gets updated!
The Tale Behind The Adventure...
There exists a wondrous island in the middle of a far off sea, a place kept intact by beacons. However, this place faces its doom. Some wretched force has broken every beacon on Beacon Island, and only you can repair them. Most of the locals have fled the place, allowing vile monsters to safely roam the land, so take care as you complete your quest. There are ten locations where the beacons lie. These locations are...
Level 1: Crocodile Cove-Very Easy, Open World
Your quest begins upon the sandy shores of Beacon Island, where wrecked ships, deep waters, and nasty natives await you! The blocks are a bit easy to miss, so keep an eye out for underwater openings near the start!
Level 2: Manic Mines-Easy, Linear
Every CTM series delves underground at some point, so Manic Mines shall be Beacon Brigade's addition to that trend! This one's a fairly large step up in difficulty, but sets a bar for BB maps to come. Just pray that a Creeper doesn't set off the TNT stockpiles that litter the mineshafts...
Level 3: Searing Seas-Hard, Linear
The first BB map I built, and it shows by means of the map's relatively small size. But big things come in small packages as they say, and this fiery bay packs a wallop. Parkour and combat heavy.
This map is in need of refurbishment, so I'm going to replace it with Thermal Temple, a map with a similar theme but on par with the others quality-wise. I suggest you skip this one in the mean time.
Level 4: Pirate Playground-Average, Open World
After the treacherous lava seas you deserve a trip to the fairgrounds! ...Except this amusement park isn't so welcoming. Pirate Playground is a dark, dangerous place where the staff doesn't care, rides are neglected, and the patrons are anything but friendly. You'll need to purchase tickets and play carnival games if you wanna finish this one, and remember-No refunds
Level 5: Permafrost Panic-Hard, Open World
At the center of the island is a mighty mountain, and at its peak is where your quest will take you next. The snowy, bleak top of Beacon Mountain is home to many monsters and even a few researchers who will trade supplies for goods to help you on your quest. There is also a strange connection to the shadowy realm that lies beneath Beacon Island, and chances are you'll get a glimpse of it...
Level 6: Revenant's Rook-Hard, Linear-Looping
'Cross the forests shrouded by night,
Daemons grip the land like a blight,
Fight to reclaim what the occult took,
In the crumbling, cursed Revenant's Rook
Amateur poetry aside, this map is the largest and nastiest yet, about on par with the CTM standard set by the likes of Vechs and company. Traverse the miserable terrain and uncover a bit of lore regarding just what caused the calamity on Beacon Island, whilst trying your hardest to stay alive...
(Also, the spawn area appears to be a bit buggy, so if you spawn in the hills surrounding the spawn just jump right in)
This looks amazing, the only thing I would suggest is making the MCedit/worldedit brushstrokes a little less obvious. (Use the erode tool, if you didn't know.) Downloading Manic Mines, I like the look of it better than the others. Good job!
Pretty far along Manic Mines, died once in Skeletal Shaft and twice in Dug Too Deep. Only have Dug Too Deep to complete, hope to finish by tomorrow. This map in general isn't that tough, except for Dug Too Deep. I might try speedrunning it, perhaps I'll record it.

Aye, Manic Mines isn't all that difficult. Also, Dug Too Deep is usually the section I'd finish last hehe.
On an unrelated note, Crocodile Cove and Searing Seas have been refined a bit so the brushes aren't so glaringly obvious!
I've decided to scrap Diluvian Docks completely after trying a few ideas for the overall layout but not liking any of them. I'm going to instead put Pirate Playground in its place, a fairly unsafe amusement park.
Since 1.4.6 has come out I've updated Pirate Playground to have a bit of fireworks! And Since exam week is over I can finally get started on Permafrost Panic
Beacon Brigade 6, Revenant's Rook is finally done! It's proven to be the nastiest, best one yet and worth a shot!
Also, rather than get started on Black Flag Frigate right away I'm going to replace Searing Seas with Thermal Temple; similar in theme and style, but a completely new map! Searing Seas is kind of crummy compared to the other levels, so this'll let me finish this series with a clear conscience!
Been done the speedrun for quite a while now, haven't gotten it rendered yet. My computer overheats whenever I try to render it, so I'll split into 2 parts(is 18 minutes a bad time for Manic Mines?).

How was it?
Excellent. I'll attempt a speedrun, but that will have to wait until tomorrow.
And also, I'd love to hear what other people think of these maps!
