I'm assuming the wither boss battle did not count towards my 12 nether stars? I'll keep looking, I believe that leaves 2 of them + that lever (the levers are presumably all on the first island?)
Thanks for the keeping items on death command, I died twice to the withers. >.< The thing's impossible to outrun, so I just put on my strongest diamond armor and forced through with those regen 2 1 minute potions. The golem strategy is a little hard to pull off while being assaulted by the wither. Thankfully random endermen proved enough of a distraction.
I was actually slowly trying to repopulate the village using testificate zombies + golden apples before I reached the end and got the STACK of villager eggs. This will do...
I also have four soul sand and 3 wither heads I found around town. Since I presume this wouldn't count towards the 12 nether stars, I might have some fun with this and the happy fun pole village.... The blazes kept tripping the pressure plates, then the ghasts leveled half the city. That was the second craziest battle of the map, next to the wither. Very fun.
I can't believe I beat it. o_O Still, I'm going for some of the side objectives before calling this finished. I skipped several dungeons. Definitely an epic map.
edit:
got all the levers and 12/12 nether stars (+5ish from withers), then used those villager eggs to make the whole village on the main island populated.
Then summoned a ton of ghasts and blazes from spawn eggs and built a wither to completely annihilate the other island. mwahahaha. I actually filled the town with a few of those villagers beforehand, just to watch them run in circles on fire. XD
Overall having 100% completed it now, this has been one of my favorite maps. It had a nice CTM feel looking for the levers/nether stars and conquering dungeons. My favorite part had to have been picking out a house from the town, clearing it and establishing my base, then defending it as I gradually cleared the village surrounding it to make it safer.
I'd certainly play it again if you had a hard mode: no keeping items on death, and fire re-enabled. >: D
Awesome map. One of my favorites actually. Too bad it was WAY too hard for me, and eventually rage-quit. But overall (4.5)/5. I expect to see more rage inducing maps from you.
There are some parts so hard I wonder wth we were thinking
I loved this map, i just finished it today and my favorite part was the Wither fight, It was so good i had to spawn more Withers becuase it was so AWESOME. Notch heads for you guys.
Edit: I vote this map 110/100
@quadrupedal_pink_equine
- All stars are in chests however I lost one so it seems there are only 11 to be found.
- Correct the levers are all on the main island and marked ON and OFF. Levers will be much better explained in next update.
"I'd certainly play it again if you had a hard mode: no keeping items on death, and fire re-enabled"
You sir are hardcore
This map was absurdly fun. Played it with my friends for six or so hours, and everything was amazing. Really, nothing was wrong. There were no cheap deaths where if you pushed a button, you'd fall into a pit of lava, or any levers that would teleport you into a room of creepers. Everything was perfectly laid out so that it was challenging to find each dungeon, but not too challenging as to make it a chore.
Each nether star you got made you feel like you earned it, such as climbing the tallest of wooden pillars while fending off ghasts and blazes, or navigating spider riddled dungeons filled with all kinds of unique traps.
The final boss was just utter chaos; there was no way we could do it until we stocked up on regeneration potions, had full sets of diamond armor, and a lot of arrows. The arena seemed a little empty, but it got the job done.
One, and probably the only, thing that disappointed me was the lack of maps. A shop owner that would sell maps of the island would have been awesome. It would have helped me know where I've been, where I'm going, and where my friends were. So many times we'd just go "ok head back at the shipwreck to regroup"
All in all, this map is well worth playing, and if you get this map, plan on spending at LEAST 2 or 3 hours playing.
Very rarely will I play through a map and think afterwards that it was a full and satisfying experience, a nice whole game. Fortunately, after recording it with a friend of mine (for his channel, not uploaded yet), I must say it was very enjoyable. Only complaint is the overkill on the hidden enchanted items. I felt like we were given supplies to make and enchant our own goods, but it was completely unnecessary with Protection II diamond stuff.
That said, it was quite fun, and the armor didn't make it too easy. We particularly enjoyed the end with its many optional boss rooms (as I called them). That "test your strength" room is evil, but it was a good demonstration of our equipment.

This map was a lot of fun. We aren't done with it, but we have about 7 stars, and are about 7 episodes in. One thing I don't get though, a lot of people are complaining about it being too hard? If anything, we felt the opposite. With the amount of loot we are picking up, it's almost too easy (and we are playing on hard), well, too easy until you are in the nether and hit a zombie pigman.
If I were to make one suggestion, lower the amount of loot/emeralds you pick up, or make stuff purchased from villagers more expensive.

Very entertaining, gave likes before seeing this post
The next update is well underway with already three new dungeons, custom mobs/spawners, and loot. The emerald amount has been reduced and we are looking into other possible shops. We want everything to be unique so it is taking a long time, at least 2 months before it's ready for release.
This map had some pros and cons. I did like that we could pick up armor and weapons in hidden boxes. The hidden boxes themselves were also pretty cool. Other than that, I didn't really understand certain things, like why creepers were allowed to damage the environment. There was a part near the end of a tunnel of sorts that had a sign with a switch. Before I could read the sign (or figure out what the switch did) two creepers showed up and did some serious damage. The blast destroyed the switch, sign and the red stone system. What's worse? It was surrounded by bedrock so I had no idea what was supposed to happen and couldn't break through to figure it out.
No rules, play how you want. You can break pressure plates, tunnel around them, or step on them to see what happens. There are no instant death traps.
There actually was a part where you hit a switch and you instantly drop into a pool of lava. It was a shame to see because I was looking forward to the "no death trap" thing. :/
I lost count of how many spawners I found in the first village. There was a time where the house I was in was surrounded by 9 blazes. My friend ran over and helped me kill them but it was more annoying than fun. It didn't feel like an "adventure". I felt like there was no "story" being told.
To me, there could have been more clear paths, more signs designating a general direction, or just more organization. Someone mentioned that things seemed "cluttered". I can kinda see what he's talking about.
This map is awesome. I've finished this map, took me about 6 hours to play.
Here is my inventory and ender chest.
There are some bug that I found.
Nether portal in nether teleported mobs from overworld, when I get in portal for the first time creeper blew me up and nether portal down. But, I got teleport to another portal.
Item trader are rare. But, emeralds are too common in loot chest.
Several people have mentioned the need for these fixes:
* Nether portal has been slightly better protected
* Emerald loot outside of dungeons has been reduced

Other:
- Several shops now sell maps to hidden treasure/dungeons.
- Work is almost finished on an elaborate well dungeon with 4 of 5 chambers completed.
- Many esthetic improvements thought the main island.
- A major expansion to the ice dungeon has just been finished with custom mobs, drops, and boss.
- The thief dungeon with custom mobs, drops, and a boss has been completed.
- A boat challenge is newly underway featuring proximity detectors.
I will share the proximity detector design and the open world boss system in my next let's play.
Great map man! I had fun! However I do not think that this is "Voted best adventure map in minecraft". Who told you that it was? Just 2 or 3 people who say that doesn't mean it instantly No. 1! Please explain.

I do maps and stuff.
Found the thought to be missing twelfth star in the ice palace.

I'm getting him to add a link to the trailer soon. We got eight wither stars, four levers, and at least three bouts of technical difficulty.
EDIT: I don't use youtube tags often, I'll figure it out.
