100th book is that you mentioned earlier?
I found 100th book Pretty fast then...I thought there will be something much hard to find in underwater...
Hmmmm. I figured it would be hard because of how far down it was and how it's in an area that most people wouldn't check out. Most people, from what I've seen, wander around Tuolumne Springs, then wander back to Centreville and points north or west. Maybe my monitor is borked-- it's been getting darker lately, wearing out. Is it easy to see from the surface of the water?

Some sort of bug made the chest easier to see. Anyway, I am not rushing you or anything but, what is the progress of gasoline dorado? will it be released this month? Are there still books to collect?

Ah, that bites. Is it the one that makes the chest textureless, or the one that makes an air bubble around it?
I haven't worked much on Gasoline Dorado in the past week or so-- been busy with another project, but I'm aiming to have the project I'm working on done by the end of this month and Gasoline Dorado done by the end of December. Progress-wise, for Gasoline Dorado, I'm about 40% done with both the books and the map. Like "Letters From A Dead Earth," it's going to have about 100 books to collect, but these will be journal entries, hints and rumors which eventually lead to a massive cache of gasoline under the wastes. So far, I've got the surface of the map laid out, all the highways, dungeons, resources, etc. laid out, and I'm just adding the final few surface settlements, locations and ruins at this point. There are also almost 200 non-storyline quote books scattered around in the various dungeons, so lots to do and find!

The problem with the chest is that it creates a bubble around it, anyway, I am currently in a small military outpost with the fifty first book in it. I am very excited about gasoline Dorado, just by the pictures, I can tell it's already awesome!
I just wanted to say thank you for creating this beautiful map, me and my friends were looking for a good map for our survival game and this one's perfect. c:
Thank you!

I love everything about this situation. The map is taking forever to load, which means you put a crap ton of work into it (YES!). You reply to pretty much every comment, and aren't a jerk like some people on the forums can be. The map looks amazing, and the story will be great I'm sure (most post-apocalyptic stories are). Excellent work man, keep it up.
Thank you for the kind words! I'm pretty proud of this map, and I'm proud of those who provided some of the awesome buildings I was able to use to thicken up the cities a little. As for post-apocalyptic stories-- it's one of my favorite genres! Of all the map ideas I had rattling around in my head, this one seemed the most fun. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!

This map is fantastic. I'm having a ton of fun just wandering around exploring everything--it's even better than Fallout 3 for making me go "okay, I'm just going to go check out this building...ooh, what's that?" and then three hours later I'm miles from home with a full load of loot. I also think it's really cool how often I've gone exploring outside the cities/towns proper and been surprised by evidence that someone else was there before me. And I'm not sure how much of the architecture is original and how much is done by other people, but the detail put into the building designs and furnishings is really nice--I've seen several things I'm going to be using in my own builds.
Now that I'm done gushing about the map, I do have an issue with it. I might just be blind, but I cannot for the life of me find Quartz. Yucca, yes. Area 341, yes. The Pan-Union plane crash, yes. Quartz? Nope. What am I missing?
(Also, and this is really a minor thing, what is that big structure in Tuolumne Springs supposed to be? I can't figure it out and it's bugging me.)

Thank you! Most of the buildings I used that were built by other people were hollow shells that I built floors and furniture into. (almost all skyscrapers-- the littler buildings are pretty much all mine) Pretty much all the furniture is stuff I built and made schematic files of so I could arrange them into different buildings. I have a furniture "kit" of a couple dozen pieces that I used to decorate buildings. The designs of furniture were inspired by the designs on this site: http://minecraftfurniture.net/
Quartz is a challenge to find, mostly because it's in the middle of nowhere and it's not very big. All I'll say is that it's between two craters in the wasteland, and that it's probably closer to Newell than it is to Yucca.
The big structure in Tuolumne Springs that's straddling the road? It's sort of a Vegas-style statue that was torn up by the nuke that hit to the south of the city. Think of it as like the big showy thing at the entrance to the casino that's made to look like a cheesy short version of the empire state building.
