Never tried a CTM map before. I'll give it a shot and let you know what I find.
Edit: Just opened the map and I'm flying in the sky with a spawner in my hand. lol. I was able to find what I think is the spawn area in the middle of the water. I'm going to start there and keep going.
This is completely optional, but if the spawn is too much of an issue, then this is VERY useful in fixing at least one of problems with 1.3. Anyway, you can put one of these somewhere completely out of the way of the map, set the spawn there and have it teleport you to where the spawn is currently set. Again, completely optional, and might be a little bit of a hassle, but it is very helpful in the end. I'll try it out and post how it turns out
Near the temple to Bahamut there was a big circle in the water. I didn't jot down the coordinates. It's the only one I've noticed that was obviously not meant to be there. Also, creepers are helping me find the center of the maze. I'm not sure if there's a creeper spawner of if they're just spawning in there, but three in a row blew the crap out of the walls in my run through.
There IS a raised area of water near the edge of the desert. That was because WorldEdit crashed my minecraft when it made a mistake, and I couldnt undo it. That raised circle of water resulted from me trying to fix it, and trust me, it could be worse. If anyone can fix it/tell me how to fix it, that would be awesome.
