Welcome to Harvest, a Farm-style survival map. This is version 1.5
This is my first map and I welcome any and all constructive criticism and comments. I plan on updating and fixing things as needed.
I’ve played a number of similar maps and enjoyed different aspects of many of them, but found myself wanting something more structured and with a goal in mind. I designed a map that I wanted to play, first and foremost, and hopefully you will enjoy playing it as well.
It’s a map built in homage to the Harvest Moon SNES game, complete with my own renditions of the classic farmhouse and town. The NPCs are set up to sell almost anything you could want or need, you’ll need to be able to afford it though and to do that you’ll have to start farming.
It is a slow start and many thing are very expensive but it makes the payoff that much sweeter in the end, just like the Harvest Moon games on console.
Up Coming LordofDragonss, who has been helping me for quite a while now, is going to be joining me to expand the map. Going to leave this one the way it is. We're going to add a second town and farm (HM: GBC2) that will be visible from the top of the mountain. The goods that the villagers sell are going to be spread out among the new merchants in the new town to allow for less cluttered rendering Some towns will carry the same items for ease of purchase and the prices will remain relatively the same if not identical across the board. Yes you will have access to a second farm. After releasing and working the bugs out of that one a 3rd town (HM: GBC3) will be added, the island town that you will need to take a boat to (provided) At that point Vendor items will again be redistributed. Any Comments or Opinions you want to add on this will be widely appreciated.
Sidenote: Its midterms week just before spring break so ima be relatively MIA.
Updates Minor - The fires went out in the last update. I lit them again and just re-uploaded 1.6. No rename since it was -so- minor and had no real bearings on the game play.
1.6 - Added a full set of Diamond Tools among the secret chests as well as a Mooshroom hidden somewhere in your farm area(14 in total) - Of those 14 secret chests 12 contain a red rose. This red rose can be placed inside your Power Berry Garden behind the barns. - Added Netherack to the Carpenter - Added the purchase of Lapis Lazuli from the player by the Mayor. - Added a Hardcore Download Option
1.5 -Add Cocoa beans to the Sprite vendor -Added Cake to the Sprite Vendor -Made the Hawkers cage into a Booth - Lowered the of Bottle o' Enchanting (4 for 9) -The Priest in the church now sells 9 Enchants
Protection III, Unbreaking II, Feather Falling II, Blast Protection I, Projectile Protection II, Sharpness II, Infinity I, Looting II, Fortune II
1.4.5 (minor update) - The Fisheman trades were backwards, he was buying what buying what he was supposed to be selling and vice versa - Changed the hawkers cage to a stall

1.3 - Fixed a few pricing errors (cows were 36 emeralds too cheap and the return on cobblestone was twice what it should have been) - Added cactus and flowerpots to the flower/seed shop - Restructured the treehouse just slightly to make the carpenters trapped in better - There are now 9 secrets in total. 7 Are on your farm (somewhere) 1 is on the mountain pass and 1 is in town (no digging required in town)
1.2 - Added Monster spawners (4) in the mine - Added a few more hidden secrets around - Added the Sprite's Cave - Added Carrots and Potatoes - Added a second 'Shipping' vendor. One specifically for animal products and one specifically for produce - Modified some item costs and values - Secured outdoor vendors to keep them safe from zombies
Suggested Rules The difficulty may be placed on any setting based on your preference.
Please do not use cheats or creative mode as most building blocks and materials can be bought using the in-game currency exchange.
Outside of your farm please keep within the fenced and walled off areas for maximum enjoyment of the map.
Inside your farm please do not destroy the fence with logs under it or your barns and tool shed. You may expand your house as you see fit. Terraform and dig. Mining is not a necessity and most can be found in the mountain pass cave. That does not mean you cannot! Please do if you want!
For your own benefit do not kill NPC shop owners.
Ultimately you are the one playing the game so enjoy it however is best for you.

Just a heads up, since the map is built over an ocean biome, you can't collect seeds from the Runecraftory mod.
Thank you for the heads up I was not aware of this, I will change the biomes around using McEdit and Upload a new version after my exams. Thank you for pointing this out to me.
Update
I used Sethbling's Biome filter to change the biomes in the map, unfortunately It doesn't change the seed that drop from the grass, even replanted grass. Currently posting in the Runecraftory thread to find out if there is something else i need to do. If nothing else I will transplant to different biome on the map.
Yes I have been meaning to update this, thank you for checking it out. I'll see what I need to change with the new patch. Also I hadn't added Xie's mod to the list of possible mods because at the time it wasn't possible. I'll try to update this over the next week or two classes willing.
-Maybe put some monster spawners in deeper levels of cave.
-Hide some secrets around! People love them! Some emeralds, bucket, golden tools with amazing enchaments...
-Make a Sprite cave under the Tool sheed. With place to grow giant mushroms. I was little disapointed to see it's not there, haha!
Update on what I'm doing while I have this small amount of free time, Note, the download has not been updated -yet-
*Added Monster Spawners
*There is or was one secret already hidden but I will hide a few more around that are easier to find, and obviously of less valuse because of that.
*Added a small Sprites room, it will contain one 'shopkeeper' that will sell the 2 new vegetables, Carrot and Potato, as well as a cookie, sold for Mushrooms.
In regard to having a large room to grow mushrooms you are more than welcome to dig down into the earth and make one yourself, The map is only meant to be constrictive outside your farm. In fact the rules on the mountain are laxed slightly as well, though not as much as in your farm.
And I have found another "bug". The guy who buys monster related stuff died because zombie get to him by walking through the cauldrons.
Ah, got ya, yeah.. zombies didn't attack villagers when I first built this map. I'll figure something out, thank you I'll try to have something up by Saturday.
- Added Monster spawners (4) in the mine
- Added a few more hidden secrets around
- Added the Sprite's Cave
- Added Carrots and Potatoes
- Added a second 'Shipping' vendor. One specifically for animal products and one specifically for produce
- Modified some item costs and values
- Secured outdoor vendors to keep them safe from zombies
EDIT:
Oh god, oh god! *laughs hard* I found out there is a Lava under the Animal shop. "Oh great!" I thought and took one lava block and... When I went back to the city, the house was burning and the shop owner was running in flames. She died :<
And this is the end of my game xD
You know I -thought- I heard something bubbling when I was running checks. Yeah I was zipping around last night and noticed some issues with a couple vendors as I was setting up the gDocument with prices. SO I made a few changes. I'll incorporate that suggestion as well I did have an empty slot for another item. Sounds perfect. I'll look into how the vendors are escaping too.
- Fixed a few pricing errors (cows were 36 emeralds too cheap and the return on cobblestone was twice what it should have been)
- Added cactus and flowerpots to the flower/seed shop
- Restructured the treehouse just slightly to make the carpenters trapped in better
- There are now 9 secrets in total. 7 Are on your farm (somewhere) 1 is on the mountain pass and 1 is in town (no digging required in town)
I downloaded this map last night and I've already put in way, way too many hours. I've always wanted more Harvest Moon in my Minecraft, but it never dawned on me to make Harvest Moon in Minecraft! Playing it I've thought of a few tweaks:
1) An underground path leading from the big tree to the basement of the shed
2) A stone fence behind the barns for the power berry flowers. It could just be normal red flowers.
3) Maybe getting rid of the lava under the animal house. The bubbling is driving me crazy!
4) I've found that the villager in the tool shop can get out of his trapped corner
5) This is purely personal, but I added some free roaming NPCs in the town just so it didn't seem so lonely.
6) And finally, maybe have a secret cloud area over the top of the mountain? Just like how there was that beanstalk secret in the orginal Harvest Moon!
Anyway, I'm loving this map! Thanks for making it!
5) This is purely personal, but I added some free roaming NPCs in the town just so it didn't seem so lonely.
I was worried that these would be turned into zombie villiagers, I was also concerned with what trades they may have to offer, though to be honest I dont think there are any trades they would have that would be at all game breaking. I'll consider adding a few Villiager spawn eggs for the player to fill their villiage with. Opinion?
6) And finally, maybe have a secret cloud area over the top of the mountain? Just like how there was that beanstalk secret in the orginal Harvest Moon!
Okay. Im workin' on something.. the only question now is, what do you have to do (no trading cows for magic beans) to get the 'magic beans' ? Okay I understand how I want to do this now. It just has to be decided what the worth of the "Magic Beans" is - Im thinking in regard to trading the cow for them maybe a stack of leather, or maybe an actual Cow Spawn Egg.
None of these updates have been uploaded yet, but they have been saved in the Developer's copy.
- Built a small 4x7 cobblestone fence behind the barn reminiscent of the Power Berry garden
- Lava pool beneath Livestock Store removed
- Tool shop refortified against vendor escape
- Beanstalk area built and linked
- Gamerule mobGriefing set to false - should keep creepers from damaging anything if they blow up
I have mailed you a link for a Test download for what I did on the beanstalk quest before receiving your suggestions
Here is what I did:
I built the city in the clouds and placed a double chest where the golden chicken would be. Inside are your prizes, The Mooshroom - as suggested- and your golden eggs to sell.
To get the 'magic beans' You have to talk to the hawker (trade 1 seed to get his book) It gives you a quest which you can complete buy buying him a cow. Trade the Cow Spawn Egg for another book that tells you where to plant the Magic bean.

The Carpenter's treehouse on the mountain pass?
Alright Fence added. You'll have to grow your own Roses, or find a good vegetable/mod substitute
Done. I normally play with game sounds all the way off, would explain why i never noticed it.
