Can I use silk touch to get some of the blocks for the monuments or am I supposed to find them in boxes?
Can I create my own portal to the Nether or do I have to find one? (Assuming you did something with the Nether. If you didn't, you should probably say so before I screw things up.)
1- Boxes. Definitely boxes. You can only manufacture or mine the Diamond, Iron, and Gold blocks.
2- Not sure of that answer, but 41 blocks... well, I'd be highly surprised.
3- Good luck with hardcore. Diamond armor is spread around like candy but my ass is still being kicked hardcore. D:
Speaking of which, 3 more deaths, bringing me up to 16. One by Cave Spiderp, one by Falling, one by burning to death. I really need to find nether warts. ;-;
I love playin this map so far but im getting the thing where your game freezes and then when you log on you rewind about 30 seconds. I dont know if its the map or what but i cant deal with that
Yeah sorry it's not my map doing that I don't know why it's doing that, maybe reload MC and change rendering/graphics? That really sucks that that is happening :/
And I love all the screenshots Avenger!
Btw, the library has bedrock walls, but if you're smart enough you'll uncover the roof. Bravo on that Oh and I love your idea with the sticks, I might actually put numbered sticks or something like paper instead as the numbers And strangely enough, The light levels used to all be 8 in the box, I don't know what happened recently :/ Loving the idea of connecting the monument to the ceiling, also what I hoped people would do! Great pictures, I hope to see more in the future!
Everyone please check out the youtubers in the forum post!
Feel free to do it, send me a link to your video and please put the forum link in the description I'll definitely subscribe to you, I love watching people play my map I'll put you on the forum post along with the other 2 youtubers so far!
- Get rid of ender pearls, cause they're cheap
- Not allow Ender Pearls in the Rules, Which also means:
- Shorten and summarize first book "Your Guide"
- Reduce armor and diamond count
- Lower lighting in some areas (I lit up places more than I needed to)
- Add paper in stacks (1, 2, 3, 4, 5... etc) in the library chest to show where the research notes should go
- Reduce coal at the beginning
I think that about sums it up, I've been working on fixing all this for a while, let me know if I should implement it guys!
You can continue playing the old version if you want, I just have new things to add/remove that will slightly change early gameplay and stop overpowering the player 1.1 changed the blaze spawners, that one should be played instead of 1.0, cause the fire spreads quickly in the enchanted jungle and lags your game. 1.2 I'll be placing a block OUTSIDE the map (that no one can reach) which by extension you can reach... Hint Hint* I hope you know what I mean, but NO ONE spoil it for people who don't see it or get it xD 1.2 will lower the resources, add new items, remove ender pearls, lower armor enchants, remove excess armor, stuff like that :)NETHER and END Portals are there for you, even though there is an Ender Portal monument. This here is the reason for only giving 7 monument pieces so you can't make the End Portal. I guess I should add another rule stating you can't make a portal. So much I didn't think about explaining
I'll keep playing version 1.0, unless the blazes ruin it. Should i do a journal thing about the map like my progression?
The only issue is about 3 spawners in the enchanted jungle. I'm not putting this in a spoiler because it's literally next to the spawn, and the spawners are currently skeleton spawners now. Please feel free to put your progress in the comments in a spoiler, I read every post!
I love this map. It's big enough to have tons of content, and done with awesome quality. But you missed a blaze spawner in the enchanted forest, unless you wanted to keep it there. It's at x53 and z277. But I love your map, and I think it's pretty tough. I only have the orange wool and cyan wool, and about 8 research notes. I've also gotten Leo back. I also found the monument.
That SOS sign is scary. I mean, some other person built an SOS sign on the island. It's scary if you think about it. What if they're still around?
Wow. I would never have the guts to make a project this big. If people don't like it, then all that time would have been pretty much wasted. Good news, though; although I haven't played very many CTMs (only completed 3), this is the best one I've played so far. Everything about it is just awesome. I feel like the later dugeons might get a little too difficult for me, but I'll try my best to not ragequit. I'm committed to beating this thing.
Anyways, after about 3-4 hours of playing, I have the red, orange, and yellow wool, the iron and gold blocks, and 7 research notes. I've also explored nearly all of the overworld, not including the clouds. No deaths, although I am playing on easy.
The first thing I did, even before I built a base, was to search the island to try to find the monument area. I didn't find it, however I did find the locations of a lot of dungeons and the pirate ship. And I somehow managed to get the diamond chestpiece, pants, and pickaxe at the top of the mountain pass. I saw a nether portal and a way into the clouds, but I didn't try to go to it and just left after equipping my new gear. Somewhere along the line, I also found a sharpness I diamond sword (which is almost gone now...). I built a temporary base between the jungle and the spawn to store the miscellaneous materials and potions I found on my expedition and went into the metropolis, where I found the monument and red wool. After learning that putting my home base next to the monument wouldn't work out, I decided to expand my temporary base and make it my permanent home. Over the next few hours, I found the orange and yellow wool, crafted the iron and gold blocks, and mined about ten stacks of coal with the diamond pick (which has fortune III). That's where I stopped for today. I found the five binary notes, so next I'll either go for that dungeon or try to get to the fleecy box(?) I saw in a tree in the jungle.
Overall, this is a great map. It gives you a good amount of resources right off the bat, so you can spend your time conquering dungeons and exploring instead of grinding and farming. I'm not the best at CTM maps, but so far I'm doing well, and this map is so fun that I'm going to make sure I beat it. I don't care if it takes five days or five months. Kudos to you.
Awesome map, im having a blast so far. I love how you balanced the map to make it actually fun instead of having to tunnel or bridge your way around like you have to do sometimes in Vechs maps. I also like the way you placed the spawners so that we can see them instead of been burried around, its more fun and we can move on quicker to new areas. Having to dig blocks around to find out where the spawners at is just annoying in my opinion.
A list of all item needed to complete the monument should be added in your post, because sometime I'm a bit confused on what seems junk and what could possibly be a trophy for the monument.
Just a question... what's a mushroom underside? I've never heard of it before, and it's listed as a monument piece along with the brown and red mushroom blocks and the mushroom stem, and nothing comes up about it when I search it on the wiki or the forums. I got the block from the binary puzzle and I don't know if it goes on the brown mushroom or the mushroom underside.
