We (I) decided to keep one of the blaze spawners at the monument, too. When I started watching the video, I thought we were moving a lot slower than you, but we've already done some of the things you do or talk about doing here (including an afk skeleton and creeper grinder at the forest location) so I don't feel quite so inadequate anymore.
ETA: okay, how do I embed a video? i thought this would work. =P
Heh, I fully intend to be prepared for anything, though its more of a challenge to build grinders and similar traps due to the clever bedrock placement. I like the challenge though and I find it a lot of fun to know Domara is always one step ahead of me
Definitely an entertaining map. We used the readily available lava so we didn't notice the bedrock, but after... a certain area, we're just assuming it's everywhere. (Doesn't mean we won't try going through a wall/cieling/floor if that seems the wisest thing to do. *grin*)

I couldn't find your videos of your playthrough anywhere! Now that I have it I'll add you to the list of playthroughs, I really love watching everyone's strategies I think one thing that tends to happen later (because there is so much content) that people start taking a lot of time searching for the next challenge, so if you find a lot of your time is searching for a new challenge you can probably omit it from the video feed if you choose, unless you want to include it Remember, you can always ask people on the forums if they know of the location of another challenge! I like the community feel of others helping each other reach their goal, and I do not find it cheating whatsoever. Anyway I'm looking forward to watching more of everyone's videos, keep up the great work!
It looks like it took a lot of work! I definitely love the amount of effort that you put into it!
Thank you so much! I really did, so I really a appreciate that Please, feel free to leave feedback, positive or constructive criticism is always great so I know what to fix or do better for my next map in progress
Awesome! I hope you like it! By the way, you can stick the banner in the bottom of any message you make instead of adding it to your comments! It's somewhere in your profile, and there are lots of tutorials on how to if you're interested

It definitely is in a lot of places, but I do give some wiggle room I'm glad you guys are noticing my efforts that have gone unnoticed by everyone else! Also, if anyone could help me embed the videos into my post? They seem to not work like they used to, which is causing MrMFretwell's videos to only show up as a link, rather than a video!
Heh, I too have a lava bucket, yet to use it though. I have a bad habit of pouring it on myself. But I'll definitely be using for future areas which are big and dark. .
Something frequently goes wrong when I use lava. XD I'm tending toward more explosive options at the moment.

Keep up the hard work with your playthrough, I've been enjoying what I've seen!
Thanks

If it helps at all for me I am using "Special BBcode > Media > Video URL. I've also noticed only certain URL's are accepted by the forum. But that's more on my end (for example I can't use the shortened version of the link on the upload page). The generic watch link should work just fine. Also hopefully that hopes with posting your videos Zaecus.
Unfortunately, that's the method I used.

I might get pulled out for being honest here, but many CTM's are known for intense difficulty, but I believe balancing is key and I prefer maps that offer a challenge and is based on progression just as Safe Haven is. I am very excited for seeing the second map and will definitely be considering Let's Playing that one too. Keep up the hard work Domara. You really have something here and I know it will be no time before those downloads start going up .
Agreed. I've been extremely skeptical in the past that a map was intended for a single player because the balancing just seemed really off for that, both in terms of being too difficult and in loot being too available. While it does pose _some_ problems for me and my lady, it's been obvious from the start that this one is intended for one player in every way. I'm actually looking forward to how the difficulty might scale as we progress even though this isn't a linear map and we'll probably get some things 'out of order'.
As you might find in this map, there is some pretty interesting lore that reveals the original state of my first map intended to be released. When the worlds changed to anvil format the whole thing went mental, corrupting lighting and everything, it was a disaster. Essentially, I have a folder of all of my schematics of areas, to which I only used half of from the original map. My original map became more of a template for several areas that connected arbitrarily, but when I finally got the motivation to try making another map, I decided an open world might fit it better. So I laid out the general landscape and was able to put the areas into a little more context, which is kind of the reason why there isn't really any particular "order" The story was created in the new map, along with pretty much all of the loot, it was just a matter of figuring out how to implement connections to areas and adding all the detail! Glad you guys are enjoying it, and I'm really loving the feedback.
Awesome! I love the walk around half of the overworld, starts to give you an idea of some areas Got some pretty nice research note finds, there are still lots more awaiting you on the outskirts!
Nice change to the monument room. I must say you're the only one that has drastically changed that area, but nice use of that blaze spawner there Should get interesting when you try taking on any of the dungeons nearby!
I'm almost done the arena then I'll be back into progress on the second map! I recently got messages from several people asking about my second map and it's gotten me thinking about new ideas
Hehe, I've been enjoying it a lot so I've wanted to record it more. Really easy to get sucked into playing. As I've already said, one of the best maps I've played keeps getting better. !
Hahaha your reaction to the chasm was fantastic... Should be fun watching you get to that point. And thanks! Glad you're loving it
I'm normally not a big fan of CTM maps, but then I saw this one and thought I'd give it a go. And I have to say this map is just amazing! I loved the way the map was built, made and I liked the challenges in it as well. I'm really enjoying it. I think the only downside for me is I keep dying and losing all my stuff. My computer is quite laggy and it makes it hard to fight, but I don't blame that on your map though. Ever since I played this, I've been looking for other CTM maps, hoping that they'll be as exciting and fun as yours.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
All the mods, resource packs and maps that I support all go in this awesome sentence.

Thanks man, glad you're enjoying! I don't know why you're having lag issues, I'm sorry to hear that... Maybe turn settings down a little more for this map? I take the compliment really seriously, it makes me feel really proud of my work!
I've been recording a little bit ahead, and I'd like to ask a question, I'll put it in the spoiler though so it doesn't ruin it for other people.
I completed the binary dungeon, and I notice I can climb through and take redstone, am I allowed to take the redstone or is that not intended?
It's not really intended (by that I mean I meant to enclose it) but people have already mentioned it and I don't really mind if you use redstone at all. I was actually originally going to redo the map with some redstone ore involved
