Haha you don't even know how excited I am. You're welcome to join in a game on my map on my server with Redstone_Fanatic, just let me know
While I would *love* to, I'm actually with only really poor internet right now. I basically crash off a server once every few minutes. Real shame too, because I would love to join you guys!

Not a problem at all I hope you enjoy the map, post your progress once in a while, and make sure you get the update, cause the other one lagged because of an issue I spoke about. Thanks again!
I am fairly interested in playing your map and this line right there is making me want to actually attempt it on hardcore mode... blind.
Of course, I don't expect to finish without any deaths, but I'll go out of my way to be extremely careful.
However, before I even attempt to do this, I have a few questions to ask :
-Are you 100% sure this is possible in hardcore mode? (No forced deaths or anything?)
-Which Minecraft version am I supposed to use for this map?
-Is there a lot deadly traps (The kind that kills without any warnings) that cannot be avoided unless I know about it beforehand?
-Do you mind if I use a single mod, the "Enderman cannot pick up block" mod? I am paranoid about them destroying the map little by little (And for a reason since they are known to set up trap intended for the player or move/steal important resources.)
-I assume backing up a savefile would be considered cheating?

I don't have any cheap tricks in the map that are meant to kill you. The only thing I warn you though is that you should stand on the floor level of a lever when you hit it on the sand, otherwise you won't land in water XD The latest version of the game is fine, and it should be possible, I'm in the middle of doing it myself. That mod isn't really that bad at all, I just mean TooManyItems and stuff, so go ahead. I don't really like that they can do that either :/ And yes backing up a file would be cheating, I put hardcore up there for extra people's interest, showing an even greater challenge
Looks cool, although the pics don't give me the best impression. Will download.
I didn't want to give too much away, like the clouds. I only show one dungeon out of I think 9 that are up there. Once in a while I'm going to change the pictures up. Thanks for letting me know they don't give you the best impression, I'll change them in a few days!
Yeah I've added tons of little structures filled with either treasure or research notes all over the map. I made it and still have trouble finding things it's so huge! There's lots to explore, so enjoy! Send a message to me in my inbox and I'll send you the IP and let you know when I have it up
Sadly as of current the phantom skylight is unfixable. There used to be a mod that fixed it (for the most part anyway), but he discontinued it in 1.3 under the (misinformed) belief the bug was fixed.
Mojang have claimed they will fix the bug in 1.4, whether that is true will be seen.
EDIT: Advice on packaging your maps, you can delete the files "spc.settings" "session.lock" and "level.dat_old". They're unnecessary files generated by Minecraft.
Damn son, good map here by the way. Glad this wasn't an email scam like the so many I have seen on the internet.
Thanks everyone! I tried really hard to make this a good map. I started making this before Vechs released or even mentioned Lethamyr btw Hybron, which is what I find funny!
this looks like a great map, just a few questions
it must of been tedius making the same map through all of the updates , id hate to have to wait for mods i needed not once but like 5+ times?
did you start off with a different idea in mind as isaw vechs' thread was created a year and a half ago and iknow he later introduced the victory monument system, forgive me if im wrong- and then i guess you slowly ajusted,
it also must of been tedius to go through areas you completed first and update them with new things, i dont think blazes etc were around a year and a half ago, but i think youve done an amazing job, really enjoying the map so far, which dungeons no1? is it where the high forest is or the metropolis, im also loving all the loot, and the story line so far,
ive just got to the 'first trees' and started mining stone just a bit of stone that stuck out from the grass mined about 10 blocks in when i uncovered a big hole, started making a stair case down, but got lazy so went down the vines instead, got near the bottom when a ghast blasted me off, i ended up in a huge cave with blazes+ghasts, + diamonds, was i meant to find this so early:P as i havent had a chance to properly look around, im poorly equipped
it looks like a really good map, welldone, are they any areas in the nether/end and how many?
There's a huge story behind the making of this map. One dungeon alludes to the making of a previous map that was also going to be called Safe Haven. The world for some reason bugged, and every backup did not work either. Had to do with the bedrock at the highest level. The reason I say 1 and a half years is because I had to move several dungeons into this one, and incorporate them in a way that's presentable as an open world map. There were going to be 41 in that as well, but I only used about 10 dungeons from it. So guess what? Won't take long for me to make another one, cause at the beginning of map making I made EVERYTHING by hand because I didn't know how to use McEdit at all. Long story short I only recently changed spawners into Blaze spawners, where appropriate (also apparently not appropriate, hence the Version 1.1 change listed above). Also making the map through updates was simple, since I only use TooManyItems and SpawnerGUI, that's it. Thank you for the comment, and the compliment! Play on, I hope it's fun for you!
I agree largely with Hyb up there about Lethamyr done right, though this is also at about the same difficulty level (really low :P). I love your use of the spawners, and your archetecture is generally really great, but Ender Pearls are really hillariously overpowered in this map, and the dungeons are just... WAY... too short! However, as mentioned, I'm still having a blast.
A few things I've noticed though:
-The early dungeons are rather much like jokes, since one can burrow through them with no problems. You might want to change that, such as the Library.
-The vast amount of blocks makes the map feel a bit cluttered, when I'm running across a Box every 10 minutes or less.
-Diamond needs to be heavily reduced. I actually got my first five blocks without ever making a single item, and have since only ever picked up items from chests. The Diamond Gear is way too out in the open, alongside diamonds in general!
-Some of the dungeons are insanely short, and easily beaten, which I don't like much
-Many of them are way too easy to do what I do best in - speedrunning. You might want to change some of them to not be so 'wide-open', as to stop people from just running. One of the dungeons, the one with the ice floor and the Mushrooms was a great way to do this, as one can't sprint over vine covered areas. Another was the climber-one, where you have to do some bridging.
-Speaking of vines... It made getting diamond too easy, as I just lept down into that crater, avoiding all the mobs, by landing in some vines.
-Otherwise, this is a great map! I do feel you, like Vechs, might want to be more direction-y with the wools, as they're so easy to overlook. Since there's several in each area, I'm finding myself missing them. I did notice a sign telling me how many there were in each area in the Desert spot, but a book might be nice for that.
Alright thanks for the comment! I do have some things I'd like to change though, I just wanted to get the map out there. I definitely should reduce the amount of spawners in some areas, and get ride of the glowstone to let more darkness surround the maps. It's hard to tell how difficult the map will be when I see tons of monsters spawning, then sometimes hardly any are...

Still on version 1.0 because that's how I roll. Blazes make everything funnnn.
Death count so far:
1 to suicide, was trying to see what was at the bottom of the crater so I jumped down the vines and ended up going splat a bit too early.
1 from an Endermen, I had full Iron on too. Those things rape you over a barrel on hard.
2 from the lava in the mushroom block room, I tried to do the parkour and ended up going into the lava twice; one to mis-jumping and once to Blazes.
1 from a Skeleton on my way up out of the now-obsidianized lava in the mushroom block room, one had spawned on the sand.
And the most recent one was from hunger ON THE WAY BACK FROM THE MUSHROOM BLOCK DUNGEON.
I'm doing horribly, which is rather unlike me. I blame the phantom skylight bug.
I really do love the map so far. It really is a Lethamyr done right - instead of just open plains with like nothing anywhere ever, it's terrain that's actually varied quite a lot and it seems like there's something new at every corner.
As for my count of stuff so far, I found the villager(s), the mushroom block, and 2 of the research notes.
I find sometimes the map is hard, sometimes easy, that's why I have trouble figuring out how much lighting should be in an area. I wish I could say that the phantom skylight affected gameplay making the game harder, but it only lights up the place making less stuff spawn XD

Challenge accepted.

i made a tiny little test world, and the file size was larger than your map??

Pretty good map so far! I'd say ~8/10 in my mind.

WHAT?!
Danger zone.
