Oh, I just realized I forgot to mention that I know of a way to get rid of your phantom skylight issue. It's a simple MCEdit trick. Go into the area that you're having a problem with, and edit a ladder into the sky in a few of those areas, then relight.
The issue arises because for some reason, the lighting coding checks the chunk it is in, and if it finds no blocks inside, regardless of where it is located, it assumes it is under direct sun/moonlight. Adding that ladder there makes it realize it's not actually lit, and helps a ton.
Kamyu has a tool for it too, but that fills the whole map with them, rather than a specific spot.
Yeah, you were right. I just found an Iron sword with Sharpness IV and Fire Aspect I. I also got a skeleton grinder going for when I need some xp if I die, and found the Red wool. Also made a cow/sheep farm, so I should never have to worry about food again (if things go the way they're intended to).

Sweet, I might try it, do I keep the ladders there? That could be really helpful if I fix it...

Yeah, the Ladders actually become invisible once they are placed in mid-air, so they're not noticable, but once the area is relit with them in it, the light bugs usually go away.

Alright I'll try it, I'm in McEdit as we speak. So I guess I only need one in each chunk?
Texture pack is painterly with a few modifications from me
The new things are in bold
Progression :
Part 1 :
Damnit, I wish I could do some trading right now.
Part 2 :
What... hey! Why does this villager gets a nameplate and a chest and not the other one I found?
Part 3 :
Natural spawns can be a ***** sometimes.
Part 4 :
Now we're talking! Bring the diamond ore!
Part 5 :
A diamond pickaxe with efficiency IV is good to use to break spawners, but for everything else, it's way too unstable. I decided to use it to collect many ghast-proof blocks. This time, I shaved 1 layer of the left wall of the library. That alone used about half of the durability.
Part 6 :
I swear I didn't see the ghast spawner until it was too late. Fortunately, this isn't 1.4, so I managed to stop the fire... somewhat.
Part 7 :
Screw you, ghast! He blew up that sign before I could read it.
Part 8 :
Umm... is this supposed to happen?
Part 9 :
This looks interesting. Fortunately, I came with all the books required. I would probably just pillar up if I didn't have them to be honest.
Part 10:
Mmm, doesn't look like I can get into that one.
Part 11 :
Again? Seriously, you can't even tell which one it is. I think I'll have to place a double chest on those two with the corresponding blocks inside.
Part 12 :
Woah, freaky. I'm on my way to the cave I found while trying to get cobblestone the first time. My plan is to dig about 30 blocks away from the vine drop and use my feather falling boots to survive the fall.
Part 13 :
Fortune III + way too much diamond ores = diamond tools for everybody!
Part 14 :
I made sure to bring a lot of ladders to get back up the way I came in.
Part 15 :
Looting sword! I think this is the first time I get a diamond sword with so much enchantments in a CTM map. Too bad it's not sharpness.
Status :
Slowly, but surely, I'm filling the monument room. I'll have to do something about those weird mushroom blocks though.
Setup :
Overhead View :
This is my base. You can see the animal area, the enchantment area, the working area, the netherwart farm and even the shortcut to the monument room on the top-left
Working Area :
This is my usual working area. I have access to 6 doubles chests, 6 furnaces, 1 crafting table, 1 brewing stand, 1 enchantment table for lvl 1 enchantments and 1 ender chest. Also, on the sides, there's 2 holes for infinite water that doubles as dump spots, 2 spots for bonemeal wheat farming and the entrances/exits of my base. All in a compact format, perfect!
Enchantment Area :
Since you only need 15 bookshelves now, you can install it like this. This is between my working area and the animal area.
Animal Area :
I decided to seperate the animal area in two. The pen was big enough for that anyway. I mainly did this because it was a pain to breed the chickens with cows in the way.
Farms :
Sugar Canes Farm :
Just something I made really quickly to get all the sugar canes I want.
Netherwart Farm :
I made this to extend my 16 netherwart to about 128+.
Blaze Farm :
It's always a good thing to get a reliable way to obtain blaze rods early. How does it works? Take out the torch on the sandstone block and they'll start spawning one by one. Sure, it's horribly slow, but at least it's somewhat safe. This is the blaze spawner in the anti-gravity forest by the way.
Ghast Farm :
I always make one of these. After all, this not only gives me ghast tears for regeneration potions, but it also gives me gunpower and experience. After you remove the 2 blocks on the back, the ghasts will start to spawn one by one. I could remove the fences closer to me, but that would make them spawn right in my face. I usually just send their fireballs back at them, so if they are too close, I'll get hit by it. Sending fireballs back is surprisingly easy if you puch them as they are about to appear. the spawners is encaged so that the ghast can't run away. There's also a wall behind me so that I don't fall if I get hit. The nice thing about this setup is that you are low enough to use looting swords on them.
Equipment :
Inventory :
I'm carrying :
-Coal/charcoal
-Wood
-Cobblestone
-Diamond Sword with sharpness I
-Diamond Pickaxe with efficiency I
-Diamond Axe with efficiency I
-Diamond Shovel with efficiency I, unbreaking I
-Bow with power I
-Arrows
-Boots with feather falling IV
-3rd set of good armor equipped.
-Ladders
-Water bucket
-Bed
-Torches
-Food
-Blocks
-Regeneration potion
-Fire protection potion
If I find a dungeon, I usually grab a speed potion and a strength potion.
With this setup, I'm ready to face many kind of situations. I can craft just about everything that requires planks, sticks and cobblestone. The stack of coal/charcoal is better to carry than 4 stack of torches.
Alchemy Chest :
Absolutely perfect. This chest is doing its job quite nicely.
Material Chest :
I have enough material to equip an army. I'm just burning through that coal/charcoal. Maybe I should have 2 rows instead of just 1.
Block Chest :
I got a lot of ghast-proof blocks now, thanks to the efficiency IV pickaxe. If I need more, I'll just go shave another layer at the library.
Utility Chest :
I have a lot more stuff to use now. Don't worry, those ender pearls are for ender chests only. I moved all the important stuff in another chest away from the working area.
Armory Chest :
I have access to a huge amount of diamonds now, so all the iron stuff that wasn't enchanted got dumped out.
Notable enchanted gear :
Diamond armor with fire protection III
Diamond Boots with projectile protection IV
Diamond Sword with sharpness II, knockback I
Iron Sword with sharpness IV, knockback II
Iron Sword with sharpness IV
Iron Sword with sharpness III, knockback II
Iron Sword with smite V, knockback II
Diamond pickaxe with efficiency III, fortune II
Diamond pickaxe with efficiency IV
Diamond pickaxe with efficiency IV
Iron pickaxe with efficiency IV, unbreaking III
Bow with power III, flame I
Bow with power III, flame I
Miscellaneous Chest :
What can I say, I got a lot of stuff. Good thing this is organized otherwise I wouldn't be able to find things easily in here.
Ender Bank :
Wood, cobblestone, coal/charcoal, all my iron, gold and diamonds and good tools/weapons. I also added 2 water bucket to have access to infinite water no matter where I am as long as I have access to an ender chest. I really hit the jackpot with all these diamonds.
Notable enchanted gear :
Iron Pickaxe with fortune III, efficiency IV
Diamond Sword with bane of arthropods V, knockback II, fire aspect II, looting III
Important stuff :
1st row : miscellaneous books
2nd row : Binary books
3rd row : Hint books
4th row : Curious? books
The rest is various blocks for the monument room.
I also placed blocks that requires a pickaxe to mine yet isn't ghast-proof in this chest. Honestly, I consider these kind of blocks to be almost useless.
Lvl 30 Enchantments list :
I created the following lvl 30 enchanted gear so far :
Diamond Pickaxe with fortune II, efficiency III
Iron Pickaxe with efficiency IV, unbreaking III
Iron Sword with knockback II
Diamond Pickaxe with efficiency IV
Diamond Boots with projectile protection IV
Iron Sword with sharpness III, knockback II
Iron Boots with protection III, feather falling IV

Wait, Avenger please tell me in the inbox right now where you found one without a nameplate! That's not good, I might need to get rid of a mistaken 10th pirate, I said I missed one possibly! This is serious, and would be a great help if you could tell me immediately!
since you told everyone to wait for 1.2 if they're new (<--- im a great rapper right?), im gonna wait but as soon as 1.2 comes out ill be downloading
That is motivating me to finish the new version even faster!!! I'm NOT sleeping until I finish. New goals involve: Find that extra DAMN pirate, fixing the phantom skylight glitch, change location of iron in the beginning of the map and slightly reduce it, remove some lighting in the first dungeon SET, that way there aren't so many useless spawners, change some enchanted things and remove them, add bedrock walls to some areas (Like in the library, where I mistakenly left the walls without bedrock, though ---> for people who have been to the library
The roof was meant to be left open, which has stayed the same
, remove the excessive amounts of diamond resources, also aid in the hiding of things that have been found that weren't supposed to until later :/ Oh and I can't forget about the new secret bonus, though I'll hint to it in the forum post.
NOTICE: Thinking of changing the title of the forum post to "Mystic Worlds ---> 41 CTM Series: Pt. 1 Safe Haven (1/2, 2nd WIP)", any thoughts? Will this change who is following the post?

Okay so the list goes like this for 1.2:
MOST IMPORTANT:
- Added a 42nd monument piece ---> Forever burning furnace, but the piece isn't in a dungeon. In this map it'll be involved with the secret That will be explained in the forum post, as well as a book, just for those who didn't see the hint. The monument will be added to a separate monument on it's own on the first floor. Don't worry 1.1 players, finding all 41 is completing my map! The next map will feature full dungeons for each piece.
- Adding an explanation to unfamiliar monument pieces (in a book within the monument room)
- Making the intro spawn look better and adding youtubers.
- Fixing a STUPID STUPID mistake on my part. HUGE apologies to 1.1 players ---> There is a 10th pirate hidden, but he doesn't have a bed or name. His name is Dorian. When you find a villager without a nameplate or chest, that's him... I wish I could give you a new hint, but the problem is that I was doing the secrets AS i put in the chests and names. I overcounted, so instead I will be adding a new bed into the ship and adding a new secret. (Thanks to Avenger's discovery)
- Removed the final blaze spawner, that I missed, from the enchanted jungle.
LESS IMPORTANT:
- Changed/removed/replaced resources near the spawn (for difficulty reasons)
- Changed lighting in the first set of dungeons, and a few spawners, to fix useless ones
- Removed some loot (loot was excessive and easy to become overpowered)
- Added bedrock in some areas, fixing the ability to enter places where you shouldn't (dumb forgotten mistake on my part)
Can anyone tell me where the binary notes 2, 3, 4, and 5 are? I am fully prepared for the dungeon, but it's just that I need the combination lock.
Tacking the clouds part of the map(after you get on top of Gateway to Heaven). The area is really nice.
Edit: I am playing in 1.1, and could somebody tell me where the last blaze spawner is in the enchanted forest so that I can switch to creative and peaceful and take out the spawner and not let the whole forest burn down.

Someone earlier in the posts gave the location in x and z coordinates. Look through and find it, although I can just say it rests right near one of the chests on the floor ;D It's fixed for 1.2, which is almost released.
I haven't gotten very far yet, but I have started a let's play of this.. never done a CTM-esque map before and I was waiting for the right one, and this one just called to me.
I will be adding you to the list of youtubers and starring you in the map at the beginning Btw this is the first map of a series!
I apologize for assuming your gender Great vid btw!
So I was working on this really cool resource pack a while ago, but bad progress nonwithstanding, I think I found something much better... I'm probably gonna never release another custom Minecraft map.Until we meet again...
Thank you once again for that! What a dumb mistake by me :/
I haven't actually started playing Safe Haven yet (waiting until I finish AMLP's Uncharted Territory before I move to a new map), but I wanted to post anyway. Safe Haven looks and sounds like a really good map. I loved the hell out of Lethamyr, and the sheer size of this one means it'll probably last me for a fairly long time.
I quoted this post in particular because I wanted to say - don't feel bad. Considering the sheer size of this map, missing a single detail like this isn't a big deal. I distinctly remember Vechs commenting that some of his earlier maps had several copies of wool chests because he honestly forgot if he had already placed that color already.
But yea. I probably botched what I was trying to convey, but don't feel bad. We all make mistakes sometimes, and I highly doubt anyone could really be upset about it. Good luck with version 1.2 And I'll be sure to do this map once I finish Uncharted Territory.
Now, if only Curse would stop derping, I could actually post this faster.

Hey thanks for that. That really actually helped a lot I'll be posting 1.2 tomorrow, I'm honestly too tired to wait for the upload, and I have to get up in 5 1/2 hours... I can't wait for more people to play it, many people are saying they're waiting for 1.2
omfg this map is so good. i have died about 30 times though and i only have the purple, orange, and red wool.
the library was easy XD all i had to do was open up a few holes in the top and go through with very little mobs
WHAT THE FUDGE. i cant use this forum for the life of me.
