1. I have noticed that while i'm building about a thousand slimes spawn and make a terrible noise and i was wondering whether this would be fixed in the actual map?
That is one reason I raised the platform up. I will probably paste into a normal world, but not sure yet. At a minimum you can have me change the biome if you want so they don't spawn.
2. Are you implementing a system in which the player has to/can go back and choose another path to complete it differently, because, obviously, some payers maps may be missed out completely during someone's play through?
Quantity over Quality then? I don't agree. If I'm doing crap, I shouldn't enter it. Ehem, that's exatly what's going to happen.
The beauty of a collaboration project like this is to see the works of many different map-makers of all kinds. I don't think we should discriminate based on the quality of the build, but what we can do is help others improve upon what they've created. After all, this is a learning experience, and in the end, I am confident that we can have both quantity and quality. We don't have to choose one or the other

I removed the bedrock floor on mine. Slimes still spawn nearby, but when they get close they fall into the void so the noise isn't so annoying.
I have finished my entry! I'm not planning on doing more than one, because I don't feel I'm especially good at space confinementbuild challenges, and I'm not sure I could top my current one
It's called "This Fiction" and is more of a mini-adventure than it is a "Choose your own path". You must solve puzzles as you go, and there are three paths you can take, revealed to you as you progress, each one happening earlier than the others. Getting the 'best' ending requires solving an especially tricky puzzle, while the other two just require some general Minecraft smarts.
It *does* use Ender Pearls, but thanks to my recent CTM work, I've used the magic of invisible ladders to stop players from getting out of the box at all.
I'll be sending it to you as soon as possible Ron!
Hey, I'm currently building a map for this challenge
I received your entry but when I tried to reply to the email, it bounced back. Also, these forums aren't showing me the button to PM you.
I will need some way to contact you privately after the 16th to let you know if there are any questions about your build, let you know your rating, and send you the download url for the beta version.
Alright, so just a quick issue with mine... Two items that were supposed to be in there are, oddly, missing. A cobblestone block was supposed to have been placed under one of the Jungle Wood - the one with a blank space under it, and the block next to that was also supposed to be jungle wood. An Iron Pick was also supposed to have been in the chest.
If you'd like me to send a fixed copy, or if you'd just want to fix those on your own Ron, please let me know either way.

Shall be done shortly! It's especially weird because the items are in my save file, but when I copied it, it vanished... Here's hoping it doesn't happen again.
WOOT! WORLDEDIT FINALLY UPDATED...right...after...I finished my entry...but just a heads up for anybody who isn't done yet, GET IT NOW!!!
oh yeah, and I'm pretty much done with it... click here to try it out.
this just popped up in my head: If multiple people are playing the map, and the loops can only be turned off ONCE, then one of two bad things can happen: loops get cut off for players, or the loops get left on...I'm not quite sure how one would deal with this dillema. I just have a "toggle loops" button on my exit. Is that OK?

I'm not 100% sure I understand the scenario you described, but...
There are 3 ways that redstone loops can be turned on;
1 - Always on when the map loads. Bad.
2 - Turned on when you enter the room (e.g. player detector or spawn onto a pressure plate). Ok.
3 - Turned on when the player flips a switch (or similar). Ok.
It's ok if you give the player a way to turn it off BEFORE they leave the room.
At a minimum, when they power up one of the exits, it needs to turn off any looping redstone.
But you can have your special effects turn on/off every time they pass through the room. It doesn't have to be one-time.
When I talked about one-time special effects, I was referring to things like TNT exploding or sand falling. Non-resettable effects. Those are fine too, as long as they don't block the room off completely.

Assume yes

Actually, nobody here would have a reason to do so, except maybe rsmalec himself.
Disregard request for luck wishing.
