All 80 entries have now been tested and rated. All submitters have until October 20th to send me any fixes/tweaks. During this next week I'll be finalizing ratings, the sequence design for the map, and getting everything ready to compile the final map after October 21st.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who submitted and supported this contest. This will be a map like no other!

I can't wait! This will truly be amazing! I've tried to keep up, but failed at doing so. You really outdid yourself with the impressions, and the ones who submitted outdid themselves with their entries!
Judging from the amount of entries, do you have any idea how long a playthrough of the final product could be? 1, 2, 3 hours? Longer, even? Or are most of the entries relatively short and sweet?

Next week I'll be updating a visio document that has all 80 entries represented with connector arrows.
I'd be really interested to see that, could you send it when you send us the beta test version? I have Visio on my computer.
And I'm sure you could have a lot of rooms lead back to the same place. Let it branch a little bit but then have the branches converge to force it to be mostly linear. As an example my 3 levels could be placed linearly in this way by having both final exits lead to the same place (since I kept the exit text pretty generic).
Reminder: any bug fixes or tweaks need to be sent by October 20th!
Update: I believe I have selected the winning entry. It was extremely difficult among all of the fantastic entries. I was really excited to see some entries in the top 10% that came from people who have not published custom maps of their own.
Over the next few days I'll be finishing up the 'design' of which entries will connect to where, and then working on the spawn room, checkpoints, and end.

Sooo exciting!!
I've always wanted to make an adventure map, and have attempted to do so before but I always got kind of bored with it or gave up because it took too long, because I would try to do the whole thing in creative mode, and most of my buildings don't look that great.
After submitting my entry, I decided I would try to learn MCEdit properly and actually really try and make an adventure map, as now I at least have some experience with it. Also 1.4 allows me to do a whole lot of exciting things that were previously impossible.
I think it's coming along nicely, but there is still a long way to go yet before it's done.
So, thanks for the opportunity to submit a small piece of work and have it played
99% sure my/Vortex's entry is the one entrance, one exit thing near the bottom of the light brown section.
Also, am I right in thinking that colors represent one "string" of entries, and all entries of a specific color are likely to be linked together?

Colors are grouping in some way. It may need to change tho, so I'll share more later.
I livestreamed about 5 hours of building tonight for the map.
No vocals, just hanging out with some tunes.
This was a random, unplanned livestream. However, I'm hoping to do more on Saturday (in about 9 or so hours from this post). Thanks to those who came and hung out!
I'll keep that in mind. I'm making steady progress, but it's a while off being playable.
If you're curious though, it's a semi-open world adventure set on an island I made in world painter. You start off with nothing, and explore the island, raiding dungeons for better gear and to activate beacons to open the final dungeon. Only the dungeons with beacons will be compulsory, and the rest optional.
Now that MCedit 0.1.5 is out and the crashing has stopped I can finally start working on the maps I have had backed up in my mind for the last few months! Starting off with a little test of course.
And yes, I am on a little intel laptop, so.....yeah..
Oh cool. I've been using some older version of MCEdit that worked with Intel for my map. I'll check out the new version.
Sounds cool. Oh, if you ( or anyone else) find out please can you tell me, Do SethBlings filters work on it? I cant seem to use modifypotions but that might just be me..
Supposedly, they have to be updated. I've asked him through Twitter if his SmoothShape one worked or not, because it didn't seem to on my end. He did say it was updated for the newest MCEdit version, however, so he's probably updating all the ones that still have a purpose (enlarge doesn't matter anymore because the program's Clone tool now does the same thing).
Too bad I didn't have MCEdit installed when making my entry, though
Yep. In one hour.

Not sure yet

My policy: cobble stuff together and hope it sticks... which happens quite often seeing as cobblestone just floats there. Weird...
I'm curious what the color coding means. Difficulty perhaps?

Position doesn't mean anything in this version.
Also, am I right in thinking that colors represent one "string" of entries, and all entries of a specific color are likely to be linked together?

My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!

Zoom in! Enhance!

I think mine might be the blue one in the very top left... maybe... IDK :/
When can we expect a clearer version, if ever?
