Are you planning to make video's of all of the submissions, including ones that are not part of the contest but still in the map?
I will almost certainly record them all, unless I'm playing in a noisy space. Not sure I will have time to render and upload them all, since that pretty much ties up the computer for an hour each.
Well, I'm more than willing to give permission to film my area right off the bat! Nice work so far
Oh, and thanks so much for putting up the PQ link there ^^ Would you be so kind as to perhaps advertise through our Youtube Channel (Even though no other Noxcrewians helped me out on my entry :P) rather/alongside the thread? www.youtube.com/NoxcrewPresents

Why not just do quickly while livestreaming those who give you permission? That way, because the video's saved on Twitch, they can watch it later, and without render time.
Naturally they'd have to give permission (to be livestreamed/video'd) first. Which, by the way, is cool with me.
Really liking those first impression videos! If any of my levels come up for those, I have no problem with it! Show what you want of them, and I'll be perfectly fine. Looking forward to all of these!
Feel free to publicly play through my entries; I was going to do that anyways, but now I don't have to If you want me to resend my entry with spawner position data, let me know through e-mail or YouTube PM. Do let everyone know when/if you are livestreaming your impressions!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My policy: cobble stuff together and hope it sticks... which happens quite often seeing as cobblestone just floats there. Weird...
I really want to see my map on video, it's awesome watching the other entries, and they have nice redstone mechanics... and as I would say "Knowing redstone is like having skills on football, if you have it, you are simply better"

Yep, that's the easiest option, but I have very limited time where I can livestream. Needs to be done from home when there isn't any background noise.
It's much easier for me to play these while I'm on the road, but that means poor internet and underpowered laptop.

Sure thing - I'll use the YouTube link in the actual map's credits.
Also - I spent and enjoyable 42:33 playing your entry. Quite impressive amount of time, given the little space that you had to work in. I will edit it down to about 30 minutes, but I may not be able to upload until later tonight.

Thanks to those who are giving proactive permission to air the first impression videos. I'm going to be checking out the levels in the order of people who posted, and then go back to random selection.
Vortex151 and I are completely fine with you taping a 'first impressions' video of our entry. We're looking forward to seeing what you think of it!
Although, we are hoping you won't play our level for a bit, say, "This is worse than 'Quest for Gallell'!" and throw your computer out the window.
Redstone is more like science. If you know it, you can use it in various situations to make your projects better.
As far as I'm concerned, redstone IS adventure maps and everyone who tries to makes an adventure map without it is just giving the scenery without the game...
Although, my entry for this never happened because I got tired of breaking and fixing my own redstone...

You don't need to know redstone. You need to know what effect you want to create and then look up a redstone tutorial or schematic and recreate or import it.
Some people will be good at figuring it out from scratch or debugging, but that's not necessary if you are careful in 'borrowing' someone else's design. OR, you can easily find someone who loves redstone and ask them to help you.

I completely disagree. Adventure maps require a good story and an immersive visual build. You don't need ANY redstone. You can make tons of special effects and challenges without any redstone.
Yes, redstone can add a nice puzzle and special effects, but in my opinion you need to build the map around the story, not around a single redstone 'trick' (the exception being Wintertide, which I don't really count a single BUD as 'redstone')
Redstone is MOST used in 'game' type maps like Sethbling's big creations.
Hey there rsmalec, i was just wondering whether it was alright if i could resubmit my entries with my skin built into them as i didn't have time before but now i know what your going to do with them i think i will try to make one. So is it ok?
That's fine. It's not game-changing. And I expected others would want to add this after they realized what it was fully for.
I purposely didn't announce it originally as I wanted you to USE your imaginations to come up with levels, and not build levels REPRESENTING your imagination.
Also: You may have missed it but on your first playthrough of an entry i commented that it was ok to make my entry public to the world, just in case you missed it here i am expressively announcing it!
Aha! I knew I saw you say it somewhere, but I couldn't remember where.
How is it make you better if you are skilled at football? If one doesn't know how to play football, you are saying that he/she is worse than someone who knows? Not the best saying...

I never used the word "worse", knowing redstone/skills on football(in my analogy) it is just like having a plus on what you do, but it is not necessary. and I'm refering to the universe of people who play football in my analogy, it's just basic logic and interpretation.. When you learn something, most of the times is because someone taught you how to do it and not because you discovered it, for example in school, you write the things you learned in class so you have something to base on, it is basically the same in Minecraft, if you are starting to build something -as rsmalec said-, you can just import some schematic and add it to the map for the things you want in it, because you learned what it will do and how it will work in your map, so knowing about redstone is a plus, that will probably help you to make maps by saving time importing and all that stuff, because you already know how to do it, and obviously that does not mean your map will be better than those people who do not use redstone or just a small part, I have seen some maps, -being honest-, that use tons of redstone and are worst than maps that don't use redstone, except for doors, and dispensers, they focus more on the essence of what a real "adventure" map is than in the "amazing" redstone. And when I said the word "better", I did not meant being better than someone who doesn't know, but being better yourself than you was before... anyways, I made that comment because they used very well the redstone on their maps, and that impressed me.
What are you on about?? Quest for Gallell is the best map I've ever seen! I'm not even sure if Ron could make a map that good! ( Sorry Ron)!
Oh also, could anyone on here tell me where to find an up to date working MCedit? I used to use it but I stopped around 1.2 and since it was discontinued I haven't found the new one that lot's of people seem to have.. I will admit that I haven't exactly spent weeks looking for it I just thought this would be an easy way to get a link, it's annoying because I have 3 ideas for some ( if I do say so myself) quite original maps but they do mostly use things like SethBling filters and I just haven't got round to starting..
Thank you!

42:33? WOW. I'm hoping that's a good thing, and you didn't spend a half hour of that stuck on the Enigma
I really want to see my map on video, it's awesome watching the other entries, and they have nice redstone mechanics... and as I would say "Knowing redstone is like having skills on football, if you have it, you are simply better"
I personally can do anything I set my mind to with redstone, but usually it ends up taking a *ton* of space. However, after that, I'm incredibly efficient at cutting it down to size. The thing I'm finding myself good at with redstone is when someone else makes something, I can very easily catch on to its workings and repair/expand it hugely.
I haven't played with it yet, but it sounds like in today's snapshot, you can specify a range for teleportation commands. This might help prevent players outside of the current encounter from being teleported incorrectly.

Ron, two questions, is my entry the one that isn't elegible, and if not you can livstream or make a video of my entry. Sorry it wasn't very good I had a few things I needed to do so it wasn't my top priority.
I will almost certainly record them all, unless I'm playing in a noisy space. Not sure I will have time to render and upload them all, since that pretty much ties up the computer for an hour each.

My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!

I just use 0.1.1, it doesn't display some new blocks but it still works fine.
