So can I just get a confirmation from Hippo that Eldorado even exists? I mean "possibly find Eldorado" isn't very reassuring since so many people are having such a hard time. I really like the map but I think a straight up answer would be nice. If Eldorado doesn't exist it should probably be taken off the objectives list because. From the book, I understand that they're searching for something that can't be obtained and obviously they never do find it so with the name of the map it would make perfect sense that Eldorado isn't there; however, the objective to find Eldorado makes this questionable. Because the other things listed to find are there it makes you think that its possible that Eldorado is there. Allin all it's an amazing map and a pleasure to play. All I'm asking is for some clarification on the subject of Eldorado. Thanks.
I think I've found El Dorado.
Only read this if you want to know the possible location of El Dorado
I did a bit of research and it turns out that El Dorado is in actual fact the name of a tribal chief who covered himself in gold dust and dove from a cliff side into a lake. And it is though that El Dorado exists where the chief hit the water.
I have found something in the map that matches this more or less to a tee. A short while East from the starting ship, there is a deep valley. Many of you have probably already found it and seen the shrine at the bottom. There is a small lake a 10 second walk away from the shrine with a waterfall. At the bottom of this lake there is a 2x4 placement of gold blocks. Maybe this is supposed to show how El Dorado jumped from the cliff above into the water and materialised into these gold blocks.
I would like to believe that I'm wrong and that there is a breathtaking and mysterious city of gold hidden somewhere in this map. It would sadden me to think that it doesn't exist
I bet you're right. When I found the gold in the water it seemed weird that it was there like that and I figured it had to have some significance. If that is the case then maybe the objective should be to find El Dorado but not mention the city if the city doesn't exist.
So I used unmined to check level by level of the map and El Dorado isn't there. Obviously the gold blocks in the water are meant to be the place where he jumped to in the water. I also used a program to count the amound of gold blocks and there is some low amount of gold blocks in the enitre map. What we have found so far: Large Volcano X-260 Z700, Temple X-244 Z 505, Gold Under Water X-260 Z 526, Cliff Temple With Enchant Table X-77 Z29, Village X-353 Z-387, Hippo Statue X-353 Z-387, Golden Pyramid X 636 Z-558, and Small Volcano X 536 Z 335

I threw in that bit about El Dorado to spur adventure, much like the original story was responsible for much of the early colonization of Central & South America.
The Conquistadores usually ended up dieing in their search for it, so I thought the player might too.
i did find a native village ... due north of the boat, took me 3 days to get over the hills and the jungle ... lucky me they had food because i was almost out ... lol
i should of taken a screenie of my first basecamp ... decided to spend a whole day worth of playtime hollowing out a cave near the boat and turned it into a home with a chicken coop in it ... lol.

If I were a good builder I would so ask if I can join your map making crew (if you have one) but I'm the best builder, but if you would reply to this that would be great! I love the maps all of them, ive played all but this one and im about to download it. if you read this, I thank you for your time
1. = Lost temple (TNT + GOLD INSIDE) watch out for the traps.. + INTO THE WATER: gold... secret. unfortinately there's NOTHING under it..
2. = Vulcano of a very large size. (+ tons of obsidian.)
3. = Islands, with soulsand etc, difficult to explore.
4. = Vulcano (2) a smaller vulcano than 2.
5. = Cliffside Temple, DONT PULL THE LEVER, everything will explode, in it: enchantment table.
6. = Golden Pyramid, with diamond and gold. NO traps.
7. = Monument to the creator of this map, digg under it there's gold.
8. = Small village with lots of stuff you might need.
- The square with the cross is the spawn area where the pirate ship is.
- The circle with the star is where my base is built, its not on your map, just for me.
Good luck with the map..
and looking for the city...
Awesome job finding all of that stuff! Did you actually walk around and find all of it or did you fly around to find everything?
I hope everybody else that plays this map continues the spirit of adventure and exploration!
I'm looking forward to it!

You could, but it would be more challenging and rewarding to make it on the main landmass.
Edit: Actually, I tried again and it runs fine.
I'm glad it's working well for you :).
